Andrei Kirilenko scored 20 points to help Russia to a 65-58 victory over Zaza Pachulia and Georgia. Russia took a 40-27 lead into halftime before Georgia rallied in the third to make a game of it. However, they couldn't match Kirilenko at either end of the floor in a game that turned very physical in the second half.

Manuchar Markoishvili led Georgia with 21 points. Zaza Pachulia finished with 11 points and five rebounds. Team Georgia had a tough time penetrating Russia's defense shooting only 38 percent from the field and committing 19 turnovers.

Sergey Monya joined Kirilenko in double figures for Russia with 12 points. Timofey Mozgov finished with six points and three rebounds and was seemingly locked in a wrestling match with Pachulia for the entire second half. Russia connected on 44 percent of their shots and held a 17-7 advantage in assists over Georgia
