NBA commissioner David Stern tonight announced that the first two weeks of the NBA's regular season that was scheduled to start on Nov 1 has in fact been cancelled. Representatives from the league and the players' association met for over seven hours on Monday but it appears that not enough progress could be made to save the entire regular season.

Adreian Wojnarowski Stern says that the first two weeks of season have been cancelled.

This is a very disappointing result to everyone that loves the game. Unless there is some revelation in the next few days, it appears that both sides may choose to dig in. Stern also said following the meeting that with each passing day there will be further reductions made to the season.

The worst has happened and now all that remains is to see just how bad things can get.
