  1. Count me in too... I'll take this one as well as the football one we are currently in
  2. This game looked like a Pro Team facing a high school varsity squad.
  3. You need to think realisticly... you are in love with every player that wears the Hawks uniform.. it is time you faced reality.
  4. Yeah they will have Peja but Bibby will play nowhere near as well as he did... honestly the lakers didnt seem like they gave a crap... lol they played around till 3-1... oh i guess we have to win 3 in a row now.... how easy did they make it look?
  5. After the signing of Ham I think a lot of the people on this board are satisfied with our team as it is.... I DO NOT think we are done.... I am about 90% we will be trading for a solid SG... The most likely situation I can think of is..... Nazr to Orlando for Mike Miller This makes perfect sense for both teams.... and I honestly think it will happen.... I am a little bit concerned that if we do this and Theo gets hurt we would not have a good center to play.... that is why I was thinking that we could buy ouy Email's contract or maybe just cut someone, so that we could sign a capable veteran BU center with leadership skills.... if this happens, we win the east without a question IMO
  6. No I am being seriuos... I have the link... http://www.killerfish.net/dt/ doflan says its a bogus web site so i dunno for sure but this story has been posted on the www.gamefaqs.com sports message board if anyone goes there....
  7. Lakers Acquire NBA All-Star Tim Duncan LOS ANGELES, September 6-- The Los Angeles Lakers acquire NBA All-Star Tim Duncan in a sign and trade deal with San Antonio Spurs, it was announced Friday by Los Angeles Lakers head coach Phil Jackson. The deal will send Mark Madsen, Stanislav Medvedenko, and some cash to the San Antonio Spurs. At the press conference, Tim Duncan says with excitment, "I just like to say I'm very excited to be here, it's a dream come true. To have the opportunity to come play for the best sports city in the world and play beside two of the best players in the league in Shaq and Kobe. It's a funny story, because before this even happened I told my agent I would like to come to Los Angeles. It's a coincidence everything happened, and it happened for a reason. I'm looking forward to getting on the court and doing a great job and helping them to win another title. " Tim Duncan brings size, strength and versatility to the Lakers. Catherine Steenkeste NBAE/Getty Images "It is unfortunate that we traded TD away but in the long term I believe Mark will be better," said Gregg Popovich, the head coach of San Antonion Spurs. "Mark has unbelievable body strength. I was with him when he worked out last week and I saw him benching 500 lbs! Who else in the league can do that?" Drafted out of Stanford, Madsen has shown great improvement at his foot work over the years. "I have been practicing. You know, since I always have to perform a dance at the championship celebration," said Madsen. "The only reason my numbers aren't as good as the rest of the power forwards in the league is because I don't have enough playing time. And I'm glad that coach Popovich realized how special I am." No Lakers want to comment on that. "Tim Duncan is the kind of talent that improves our team immediately by adding size, strength and versatility," Rick Fox said. øš"While we would like to thank Mark Madsen and Stanislav Medvedenko for all of their hard work over the years in a Lakers uniform, we felt this trade was not something we could pass up." Duncan, 26, is a five-year NBA veteran with career averages of 22.8 points and 12.2 rebounds in 370 games. The 7-0, 305-pounder has been selected to represent the Western Conference at the NBA All-Star Game ever since he joined the league. Duncan was selected to the All-NBA First Team for the fifth consecutive season, becoming just the sixth player in NBA history to be named First Team in each of his first five seasons. He joins this elite club of Elgin Baylor, Larry Bird, George Mikan, Bob Pettit and Oscar Robertson. "In Duncan, we have a seasoned veteran and NBA All-Star," shooting guard Kobe Bryant said. "He has the ability to score and rebound. It gives us a player that we can go to in the post and demand double-teams from opponents." With the addition of Tim Duncan, Lakers has improved dramatically at their weakest position at power forward. In the past, talented players like Chris Webber, Kevin Garnett, and Rasheed Wallace have been giving the Lakers a hard time. Not anymore. Medvedenko, 23, was selected 25th overall in the 2002 NBA Draft coming from Ukraine. In 78 career games, the 6-10, 255-pound forward averaged 4.7 points and 2.1 rebounds.
  8. I can understand to a point why reeves was conserative on the last drive b/c of how much we had been fumbling for a while.... but i just do not understand why he would not run ducket up the middle... also he misuses ducket and dunn..... he has dunn go up the middle and ducket do sweeps... i hope he is fired soon
  9. MP are you crazy???? Those injuries were of his friend from Washington not him..... he did not crack any ribs and collapse a lung..... he fractured 3 vertebrae.... nothin more nothin less
  10. Why are we debating rather BHD is a racist rather than breaking down the game???
  11. ATLANTA -- Lacking the kind of size typically necessary to successfully play the 3-4 front, the Atlanta Falcons addressed that shortcoming Sunday by signing former Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Ellis Johnson, ESPN.com has learned. The Falcons also acquired third-year wide receiver Trevor Gaylor in a trade, sending an undisclosed choice in the 2004 draft to the San Diego Chargers for the former Miami of Ohio star. To reach the mandatory 53-player roster limit, Atlanta released wide receiver Quentin McCord, fullback George Layne and cornerback Darrick Vaughn. A seven-year veteran and the Colts' first-round choice in the 1995 draft, Johnson was jettisoned last week after he approached Indianapolis officials and asked to be released. He said he felt he did not fit well into the one-gap scheme implemented by new coach Tony Dungy and coordinator Ron Meeks, and preferred more playing time. Johnson, 28, signed a three-year contract worth $4.5 million, with a signing bonus of $1 million and a base salary of $650,000 for 2002. There were a number of other teams interested in Johnson, but some offered just one-year contracts, and others simply did not appeal to him as much as the situation with the new-look Falcons defense. The Colts left the door open for his return, telling Johnson he could return if he didn't find work elsewhere, but he seemed determined to find a new home. The former University of Florida standout, who weighs about 288 pounds, has the kind of size the Falcons have lacked upfront as they convert to the 3-4 front under Wade Phillips, their coordinator in his first year with the club. Although he will play some at tackle, spelling starter Ed Jasper there, it's expected Johnson will line up primarily at end. A lingering abdominal injury that has kept Travis Hall off the field for the entire preseason and a shoulder injury that will sideline Shane Dronett the entire year has left the Falcons without size at defensive end. Phillips has stressed the importance of speed in the 3-4, but opponents have been able to run on Atlanta in the preseason, and the front is difficult to play without bigger ends. The addition of Johnson, a stalwart in his seven years with the Colts, might allow Patrick Kerney to move to right end in pass-rush situations. Kerney had 12 sacks for the Falcons in 2001. Certainly the acquisition just further upgrades a unit that underachieved last year, when it ranked No. 30 in the NFL, but which should be much improved this season. Johnson already was in Atlanta on Sunday and is expected to begin practice with the Falcons on Monday, and probably will play in the opener Sunday at Green Bay. He visited with Falcons officials Friday and, despite thinking about a few other options, clearly liked what he saw and heard. He has 271 tackles, 33 sacks, four forced fumbles, two interceptions and 20 pass deflections in his career, which includes 104 appearances and 84 starts. Over the past five seasons, Johnson averaged 15.2 starts. His best season was in 1998 when he registered 55 tackles and eight sacks. In Gaylor, the Falcons are getting a big, physical wide receiver who did not live up to his billing with the Chargers, but who might benefit from a change of scenery. Given the team's need for a young deep threat, the deal could turn out to be a good one for the Falcons. A fourth-round choice in the 2000 draft, Gaylor, 24, has played in 21 games and started five contests. He has 27 catches for 399 yards and one touchdown.
  12. I think the Braves made a huge mistake when they did not make a trade for an established first baseman or outfielder. I knew there would be no way that our pitching staff would keep that pace up. Also I knew that all our no name players would not be able to keep driving runs in while our stars were in slumps.
  13. Everyone says the Phil takes over teams with lots of talents which is true.... but look at the Mavs they have so much talent that if Nelson could actually make some sort of offense or install a defense and try to get his players to actually run plays they'd sweep the lakers easily. So I think having a good coach makes a huge difference. Say what you like, but I don't know how many other coaches could keep two huge egos like Shaq's and Kobe's from ruining everything.
  14. Yeah I agree.... I dunno if they can beat out Tampa Bay for the divsion as of yet, but I do believe that they can get a wild card spot... in a few years this team will be verrry good!
  15. We would probably have to include a draft pick for miami to accept this trade, but I def, would I think this trade would help us alot, but I think we would have to sign a BU center/ power forward.
  16. While this trade would be highly unlikely to complete the salaries match... so would you do this trade if it was possible? Atlanta trades: SF DerMarr Johnson (8.4 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.0 minutes) C Nazr Mohammed (9.7 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 0.4 apg in 26.4 minutes) PF Alan Henderson (5.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 16.2 minutes) Atlanta receives: PF Caron Butler (5.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 16.2 minutes) SG Eddie Jones (18.3 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 3.2 apg in 39.0 minutes) Change in team outlook: -5.3 ppg, -10.3 rpg, and +1.3 apg. Miami trades: PF Caron Butler (5.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 16.2 minutes) SG Eddie Jones (18.3 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 3.2 apg in 39.0 minutes) Miami receives: SF DerMarr Johnson (8.4 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.1 apg in 72 games) C Nazr Mohammed (9.7 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 0.4 apg in 82 games) PF Alan Henderson (5.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 26 games) Change in team outlook: +5.3 ppg, +10.3 rpg, and -1.3 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Atlanta and Miami being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Atlanta and Miami had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
