  1. If we have a top 2 pick we need to get Dwight Howard. I have played with this guy. He is a simply a beast. He has the athleticism and permeiter game of KG combined with the low post skills and fundamentals of Tim Duncan. Now of course he is not on that level now, but that is the type of player he will grow into. He may not be a Ben Wallace type defender, but he is certaintly no slouch, in fact he has the potential to be an all defensive team type defender.
  2. In 5 years I will go on a little gut feeling and say that Bosh will turn out every bit as good as Lebron if not better. This guy won't be ready for about 2-3 years but when he hits his stride look for tim ducan's game with kg's athleticism
  3. I joined too. The first league is intended to be the main league though, right? On a side note I may not be able to make either of the drafts
  4. That is a good signing. We did not overpay for him either.
  5. Would it be okay if people who joined the first league joined this one as well?
  6. That would be George Layne. I believe he is a 3rd yr Fullback. He was drafted by the Chiefs in the fourth round so he obviously had talent, but I believe they cut him and we picked him up. He was really never used much because we had Bob Christian who was very underated, and the nest all around FB in the past 2-3 yrs IMO. He is battling rookie Justin Griffith for the starting spot, however Griffith was injured last night. They are similar players, however I believe Griffith has more talent, but Layne has more expierence which is always an edge when your coach is named Dan Reeves! On to the game last night.... the first string utterly dominanted the packers. The backups didn't do too well as a whole, but some individuals stood out to me. The main problem was the 2nd string O Line. They were just plain horrible. All we could were 2-3 step drop passing routes because we couldn't run and our oline could not hold a block for more than 2 seconds. I think Fred Talley lost his job last night. He had 2 fumbles and couldn't even get a TD from the 1 yd line in two attempts, and on the 2nd attempt he fumbled.
  7. hahahah no freak way portland does that!! first of all I think they like Mcginnis better than stoudamire, but the really crazy part is randolph is pretty much untouchable. he may be the only person on that team that won't trade, which says a lot considering the bulk of talent that they have.
  8. Umm the AFC east is a great divsion, but I think the NFC south is a better divison. You got the Super Bowl Champs, the falcons who should be a top 5 team this year at least, the Saints who should be around 9-7 or so, and the panthers who had the leagues 2nd best defense and were literally a couple of plays or calls away from 8-8. They also sport an improved offense this season. The AFC east is VERY competitive, however that is because most of the teams are on the same skill level. This year the fins may finally go to the next level, but they were suppossed to last year too, and look what happened. Also the Jets will be a shell of what they were last year. The Pats improved a little I think, but should be a mediorce team. The Bills got Spikes, but lost Price who will be a huge loss because now teams can double team moulds and wont have to worry too much about Reed. Reed also created mismatches aganist dime or nickle cornerbacks which opened up the running game. I think Spikes helps their defense, although not by much. I believe the loss of Price will have a much bigger affect on their offense.
  9. NO Way I would do that NJ trade. We can get a hellll of a lot better for big dog/Jt then jefferson and mutumbo
  10. is if the Hawk's front office is content with just making the playoffs or building a championship team. we could very easily add some stopgap players this off season that could make us say a 6th seed in the Eastern Confernce, but we taking a couple of mediorce players as a stopgap would set this franchise back 2-3 years if they hope to win a championship. it seems to me the hawks are too caught up on JUST making the playoffs. I mean in the interviews all they ever talk about is just making a run for the playoffs, nothing more. I think we need to avoid the temptation to trade for a player like Eddie Jones or sign some average player to another bad contract, just to put some fans in the seats. We need to identify the players we want build this franchise around after this upcoming season, when we can get our bad contract's off the books. Yes we have some good players, however none of them are superstars. IF we can lure a KG or Kobe type player, we will have to be able to have cap space along with making the playoffs next year. As you have seen, you cannot win a title without a star and the 04-05 FA is prob. our best chance to bring in a superstar... but it seems to me that our team wants to be the team of the mid 90's..... a 2nd round exit each year instead of just waiting a year and building a dynasty.
  11. Vince Carter has reportedly made a strong push for the raptors to trade Chris Bosh for a veteran because they need to win now and cannot wait. I'd send them Big Dog for Bosh in a second. I'd even throw in Nazr if it was needed. If Nazr had to be involved to complete this deal we could easily sign Kevin Willis and he's a good backup and we wouldn't have to worry about his health. Then we could move Reef to Sf where he seems comfortable. Jt Diaw Reef Bosh Theo Now that squad could win. I wish we could get Maggette with our exception... pretty much every NBA GM says he's on the verge of blowing up this season.... however I don't know if we would even make an offer to him or not...
  12. If we were to do that second trade, I would make them take on Crawford's contract. Then that could be a good deal, but I dunno if they would do it then.
  13. If we were to do that second trade, I would make take on Crawford's contract. Then that could be a good deal, but I dunno if they would do it then.
  14. what in [censored] is this???? lampe is still here!!!!! we need to seriuosly think about trading up... whatever happened to him???????
  15. If michael pietrus is there i think we should take him over just about anyone else. if that happens we NEED to think about a jt/dog/nazr for dre miller/odom. then sign a guy like maggette or pj brown. we would have a squad. id love to lineup.... miller pietrus odom reef theo with maggette and dj coming off the bench... talk about a total transformation... we would have a running, athletic team with a true floor general in dre.... prob. will never happen though
  16. I will not be able to pick tommorrow either... I just found out today that I have 3 basketball games tommorrow that were changed from this weekend due to a conflict.. sorry about not being able to make my pick.
  17. One of them has Hinrich dropping to us???? No WAY that happens. Even if he did drop to us I really don't trust him. I will admit he is better than Dickau at this point, but I have a feeling he will turn into a slightly better Dickau, but I could be wrong.
  18. the Miami Heat select T.J. Ford point guard out of Texas. This was a tough pick for me. While I was high on Lampe, he would take a year or two to develop and frankly the Heat cannot afford to wait that long. I then turned my attention to TJ Ford, Dewayne Wade, and Chris Kaman. Wade is a great prospect put I ruled him out because the Heat already have Caron Butler. So it was either going to be Kaman or Ford. I picked Ford because the Heat have lacked a great PG since Tim Hardaway in his prime. I think Ford is a better prospect, and much less of a risk. Ford has been working on his shot since last season and it is getting better. While Kaman could of provided a great center for years to come if he worked, he was too much of a risk and the Heat could have a too many players in the frontcourt with Malik Allen, Brian Grant, and possibily Alonzo Mourning. Therefore, I concluded that TJ Ford was the best selection for the Heat.
  19. this sounds like fun! btw does anyone have any ideas for f. Football this yr?
  20. I think his stock is dropping, however I see no way he gets to 21. If he drops to 18 or 19, the only way we would get him IMO is to trade up. While I am not exactly certain the needs of the teams that pick right before us I am almost certain that any team would look at Jarvis Hayes as a steal that late in the first round. I think he would be great for us, but there are other needs of this team as that other plays can fill without having to trade up. I think Boris Diaw would be an ideal fit for us. Also what really do we have to offer to move up a few spots?
  21. I think it would be fun to do. I would particpate.
  22. Acording to lots of posters on the espn hawks board iverson has been traded to atl for reef. the trade has been said to involve fillers and picks. It was said to be announced draft night. One guy had a link with the story leaked but it is now not avaiable. A couple of other people claimed they saw the story. I do not know what to think, but this seems possible and if it happened it would be great. We would need to find something to do with JT and Big Dog though. Maybe JT/Dog for Miller/Odom? How does this look? miller iverson odom fill in the blank ratliff maybe we could sign a decent defensive minded PF and draft maybe a daivd west or anderson varejo and take a chance on Kendrick Perkins?
  23. What is the deal with this guy? Just a couple of weeks ago, I saw him being projected to go in the top 6, and now some mock drafts have us selecting him at 21. Would this be a good pick for us? I have read that some consider him a tweener but all agree he has great potential. At 21, I think he would be worth the risk. I would like to see us grab a couple high schoolers in the second round and try to develop them.If these guys went to college for a year or two they would all be top 5 picks, so I think in the second round they could provide great value and improve our overall talent level and athelticism.
  24. does anyone of a good website to retro shoes such as air force 1's off of? Thanks
