  1. Quote: What ever happened to him? Is he still in the NBA? Still playing for whoever signed him after the Hawks?? http://www.nba.com/playerfile/mike_wilks/index.html
  2. Quote: People who know basketball, in the basketball world, understand what my place is in basketball history," said Wilkins, now the Hawks' vice president of basketball. "And I'm confident things will be fine this go-round. Do I think I was a first-ballot? Of course. Hopefully things will work out this time.
  3. True, maybe they need to add instant replay.

Actually, I think that losing this year is the best thing for his game.
  5. Quote: The dunk contest represents everything that is wrong with the NBA. The emphasis on individuals above the team, flash over winning, etc. It takes great athleticism to win the dunk contest, but not a great basketball player. Did it represent everything that is wrong with the NBA back when Jordan and Nique were battling for the title? This is a show, for the fans. Is the All-Star game wrong too, since it is all about the best individuals that make the team. At least there wont be any show boating(flash) in the actual game.
  6. This was Smooves last dunk compition. He did get robbed with the 41. He put the tape down for show and got everyone pumped up, then when he didn't even attempt it, it was a huge let down and the judges were not that impressed, granted it was a nice dunk, but not original.
  7. Exactly, Nate had a better overall performance.
  8. Isn't is kind of ironic that the guy that wins the dunk contest is 5'9", while the the three point champ is 7'0".
  9. They said before the contest started that you don't get penalized for missed dunks. However, there should be a limit on attempts. Like say you get three attempts and your done. If you miss the first two and make the third you shouldn't be penalized, but if you miss all three you get nothin. You should have known going into this that if nobody was hands down better then Nate, he was going to win. AI probably should have got higher scores but this was Nate compition to lose. I for one was pretty impressed with Nates jumping ability and stanima. The only negative was all the misses, but again as they stated before the compition, judges are not to penalize for missed dunks. I would say his performance tops Spuds from 1986.
  10. Judges are not supposed to dock points for missed attempts. Nate did take 14 tries and got creativity points for it. AI had the best dunk of the night with the behind the backboard jam, but collectively Nate had the best dunks. I was impressed with all but one of his dunks. He is 5'9" for crying out loud. He had better dunks overall then Spud ever did. Plus the judges clearly wanted to give it to him
  11. I think BK will stick to his guns and only trade AL for quality and picks. I don't think he will trade AL just for the sake of trading him. Who knows, maybe AL asked to be traded along time ago but the word is just getting out now. Don't be so quick to judge, nobody here knows the real situation.
  12. Quote: I'd put my money on Dirk No, I win!
  13. How steady is your hand? Try to reach the goals without touching the walls. See if you can beat all four levels. Make sure your sound is on. http://www.winterrowd.com/maze.htm
  14. Better because while both big guys forgot to jump Vince jumped OVER his defender.
  15. Does this trade benifit anyone?
  16. Al and Delk for Theo and Jack... How about Al for a bag of cheetos and a porn? It's going to be a long night.
  17. Dominique Wilkins who many believed would be a no-brainer first-ballot inductee last year, was not among those chosen to enter the Hall, and I realized that the selection committee is a bunch of idiots. "The Human Highlight Film" is a nine-time NBA All-Star and two-time slam dunk champion. What more does it take?
  18. WTF, stupid post of the year, since when did anyone doubt Paul, Villanueva or Wades althleticism coming into the league. Some people are born stupid. Dwayne Wade: Strengths: Possesses one of the most explosive first steps in all of college basketball ... Extremely athletic player who has superb leaping ability and dominating quickness ... Once Wade goes into the lane he has the ability to drive and dish if the defense collapses ... Plays very poised and mature for his age. Seems to maintain the same facial expression regardless if his team is up or down by 30 points ... Has an NBA ready body which usually allows him to finish after contact occurs ... Plays solid perimeter defense and understands how to cut-off the passing lanes ... Thanks to his athleticism he is an excellent rebounder ... Has a great understanding of shot selection and rarely forces up bad shots ... Understands how to shield off his defender when driving to the basket ... Creative player who has the body control and excellent relation to the basket skills to convert difficult shots off the glass ... Has become more of a leader this year ... Draws a good amount of fouls due to his aggressive, penetrating style of play ... Weakness: Wade is dangerously close to being a combo guard. Too small to be a shooting guard not enough point guard skills to run a team offense ... While he shows range on his shot, his mid-range shooting remains streaky ... Must improve on moving without the ball he often needs the ball in his hands to create offense ... Wade's ball handling could stand to be improved if he is to play some point guard in the NBA ... Size. Many undersized guards have a hard time transitioning to the NBA game. Wade has the benefit of long arms which allow him to play big for his size ... Not much of a 3-point shooter although he does have the ability to make 3's. He often doesn't get his body fully squared to the basket ... Charlie Villanueva, Stregnths: A strong all around talent. Charlie excels at passing the ball, scoring from the perimeter and handling the ball on the break. His inside/outside game makes him a virtual lock for a double-double every night. His athleticism makes him an excellent rebounder and perimeter defender. Scores his points from all over; his height allows to shoot over almost everyone on the outside and also allows him take the ball down low. He's just starting to live up to his unbelievable potential. Weaknesses: A bit laid back at times, which leads to scoring in bunches and then going cold. Must understand that he will not always be the biggest and most athletic player on the floor. Strictly an inside talent, and could use some post development. Still soft at times, which leads to him being a weak interior defender. Not a great shot blocker, despite his athleticism and height. Needs to develop a killer instinct. Chris Paul Strengths: Paul is the consummate point guard. He is a mature leader, wise beyond his years. He can score and get into the paint and drop the catchable pass with the best of them. A 3 point marksman that will knock it down if given room. His foot quickness makes him a capable ball hawk on defense when he picks his man up. To lead the ACC in steals as a freshman tells you a little about his defensive ability. His character and heart on and off the court make him a GM's dream. Will have a chance to be a star in the league, and it will be his passion for the game that will keep him from falling off. Weaknesses: At under 6 foot, he's very small for the pro game. His intangibles and athleticism help to make up for it some. Improved strength and a year of maturing will help him avoid the dreaded sophomore jinx that Chris Thomas suffered a two years ago. Point guards are judged by their teams play, and with his team this year should reflect the type of player he is, a Champion.
  19. I hope Kobe doesn't go for 82 tonight. The Hawks have a chance, depending on who shows up.
