  1. Also appropriate: Greg Oden here we come.
  2. Awesome topic! 1. Kashmir-this song is from another world and Zep was gracious enough to bring it to ours. 2. Babe I'm gonna leave you-the switch over from acoustic to electric together with Bonzo banging away on the sticks...unbelivable groove. 3. When the Levee Breaks-Raw power 4. Immigrant song-Vikings, piliging, Thor,...it's got it all. 5. (tie) Battle of Evermore-Heart covers this awesome song and maybe even surpases Zep's. And Thank You (from BBC sessions) magical, beautiful; a love song without the fake crap. In the words of Otto the bus driver: "Zeppeilin RULEZ!"
  3. Wow so we still have a chance at Rajon? What's the time frame till he can be dealt? IMO Rondo would be a perfect understudy to Speedy. He's young, comes cheap (salary wise), and has all the upside in the world. Let him learn the ropes under Claxton slowly, and then turn the reins over to him. Another young gun added to the core. Make it happen B.K.!
  4. I apoligize in advance if this has already been posted, but I just came from cbssportsline.com and on their NBA page is an article on Deron Williams/Dee Brown written by Atlanta's own Sekou Smith. Many of us here have been big fan's of Sekou's writing in the AJC and now it looks like his hard work has paid off with some national exposure. Congrats Sekou.
  5. I've seen his name come up in a few of the Al to Indy threads. I'd like to know what the board thinks of him. I learned he was a late 1st rounder the same year we got Smoove and Chillz. I have to admit just looking at his size and age he is intriging. 7'0 280lbs and still very young, I would think he would definitly be on B.K.'s radar. I think we're all in agreement that after Speedy's signing, a big is now our #1 priorty. Is he A) a real possiblity for us. and B) someone we would want? Also what else would Indy throw in to make the salaries work? Thanks.
  6. O.K. I'm in idiot, just saw it posted by someone else. Um, the Hawks just traded Al for Lebron James...:)
  7. Just heard it on ESPN News, wanted to put the word out.
  8. I REEAAALLLY like your scenerios 1 and 4. If either of those were to happen we would be a dramaticlly better team next year.
  9. I'm really looking forward to hearing how Rondo faired. These new Seattle rumors have me daring to hope that we'll get a big (Aldridge if he falls or Sheldon) AND my boy Rajon. Now, I realize as a Hawks fan I have no right to hope for ANYTHING good to possibly happen on Draft Night, but if B.K. pulls this off he gets a free pass by me for at least a month.
  10. I would cry tears of joy if we pulled that off. And happy tears would be a first for this Hawks fan.
  11. Yeah, I know what you mean. If we would have known a month ago who B.K. was picking in the draft what would we talk about on the Squawk? Now it's must see T.V.
  12. Like most others on the squawk, I too am some what nutreal (is there no spell check on this board? on Shelden Williams at #5. I wouldn't riot if we choose him nor would I jump for joy. Kinda like Vanilla Ice Cream. However, I really, Really, REALLY, think we should take a good hard look at Rajon Rondo. No, not at #5, (I like him, but not THAT much) but in somesort of trade down (N.O., Seatle, etc.) or trade up (from our second round #33) From everything I've read and seen, Rajon is nearly a perfect fit for us as a starting PG. The fact that his J is garbage has been said a million times, but I beleive with J.J. and all the other shooters we have, we wouldn't NEED him to hoist a ton of shots. What he DOES bring to the squad far out weighs his (lack of)shooting prowress. His defense is superb. No more Brevin Knights/Jameer Nelson's torching us night in and night out. To me this was our biggest deficency last year. He's a past first guard. He'll get the ball up the court and into JJ, Smoove, and Marvin's hands. With the uptempo/versitle line-ups B.K. is trying to build he is the perfect conduit for our offense. He gets to the hole. See point # 1 but in reverse. Rondo penetration = dunks for everyone else. You add a big man with another pick in this draft and the Hawks are a borderline 7th or 8th seed and you STILL have boatloads of money to throw at FA. The fact that Billy has called Rajon in for a workout gives me hope that he too see's his potential. You can probably see I'm sold on the guy, my question to you all is, How do we get him?
  13. Man that may have been the funnist and yet truest post I've read...ever. Damn just when you think the Hawks can't get ANY lower...
  14. This may be the first time the Squawk has united as one for anything...ever. Funny stuff Disel, but even Star Wars had "A New Hope" being a Hawks fan is Empire Strikes Back 24/7.

    BELKIN WINS

How did this happen? Wasn't it a week ago the judge was saying that Belkin's gripe was completly B.S.?

    BELKIN WINS

Somebody tell me this is some sort of late april fools joke...HOLY CRAP!!!!!!
  17. Can teams in this years draft trade picks at anytime? (i.e. If the Hawks did want to trade down with N.O. could they do it today, or do they have to wait untill the playoffs are over, or is there a certin date they must wait for?) Thanks.
  18. Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, I really was expecting a negative reaction due to the lack of marquee names involved. I agree with a lot of you guys that these players may be gone by the time we pick, but man would I be a happy squawker if we pulled it off.
  19. My ideas for this draft are (admitidly) not very sexy/flashy but I belive A.) Make Sense B.) Are Plausible (sp?) C.) Will not break the bank and D.) Involve Players I belive can complement the squad we already have. So here goes... Draft the best avalible talent at #5 (Roy, etc) and atempt to trade with the Hornets for their two picks. Get the Landlord with the first and Rondo with the second. Both have flaws (ones a bit undersized and the other lacks a a jumpshot) but both fill GLARING holes: Rebounding, Interior D, Shotblocking (besides Smoove) a playmaker who doesn't need to shoot to be effective, help against backcourt presses, someone to push the tempo... You get the idea. This leaves PLENTY of cap room still to SNT Al or go after bigs in FA. There is of course the risk that those players won't still be on the board when the Hornets select, but if that's the case we still end up with a good player in Roy. So that's it. Again there names alone won't sell tickets, but their brand of ball should bring wins, and W's ultimitly are what the game is all about. What do you think?
  20. I'm with you on bringing over The Answer. Whether or not all of this talk of A.I. to the ATL has even a nugget of reality to it (only B.K. and B.K. really know) there at least is some positive vibes floating around the city this offseason. The only thing I'll deviate from you on is Roy. Not a bad choice, but I'd rather streatch to get Sheldon Willams if for nothing else his rebounding, shot blocking, and toughness. He wouldn't be counted on to score alot, and I think that would suit him just fine. (leave him alone to battle in the trenches a la Big Ben). He could be the tough-guy/enforcer that good teams need to become great. Just my two sense.
  21. If you stay all the way through the end credits there is a secert ending scene...lets just say only two main characters died. P.S. Good (not great) movie. Cyclops had what, two minutes of screen time? And I agree with the previous post, who wrote the dialoge in this thing, the screenwriter for Batman and Robin?
  22. If anyone has the answer to capstone's post could you also post the other important upcoming dates. Such as: Date players must declare for the draft (are you listening noah? , Draft Lottery, the draft itself, and finally when we can start pursuing free agents. Man the season ended 5 minutes ago and I'm already hyped for 07'!
  23. Man that was the loooonngggesttt 2 minutes to end a game ever. Hawks lose by one...was there any other way it could have ended?
