  1. Is there anywhere I can find the NBA average for the 1st free throw compared to the NBA average for the 2nd free throw? I would guess the 2nd one is 6-7% higher...
  2. That is probably the greatest single moment in Philips Arena history so far.
  3. Quote: he wasn't the best WR in the country, he waz all-state and thats it LOL. Umm...I still remember reading a Tom Lemming Chat on ESPN.com years ago that said he was the #1 WR in the country...But he wasn't even going to play his senior year to focus full time on b-ball.
  4. LeBron James is 6'8 260 (according to himself)...That is bigger than Karl Malone (255 lbs). He was the #1 rated high school WR in the COUNTRY, and he didn't even play his senior year. He is absolutely the best athlete in the NBA, and probably in the entire world. I think he would make just as good of a football player as he is at b-ball.
  5. Quote: The questions you have to answer is: 1) J Smith 2) Will Davis play more than 40-50 games? If yes, then there is some sense to getting him; however, Davis has a bad reputation as a me first guy. Second, Davis' contract is much harder to move than Bibby's (~17+ mil vs. ~14.5 mil respectively). 3) can the Hawks get more in return for an expiring Bibby contract in the middle of the season than a broke-down Davis now? In terms of talent I see what you are saying in that Davis is, when healthy, better than Bibby. However, Davis is never healthy, therefore you can't make that argument. Thus, you are trading a healthier player in Bibby and a more explosive and higher potential player in Smith, PLUS, a possible bench scorer in Andersen for an often injured, me-first PG, and a servicable 240 lb center. I can't see how that is a winning trade for the Hawks. GS, however, would jump all over this. 1) Maybe from an individual standpoint Josh Smith is better than Biedrins, but I would absolutely argue that Biedrins would make this team better. Allow Horford to move to PF, get a great defense and rebounding oriented C with a high FG%. I would ABSOLUTELY trade Josh Smith for Biedrins straight up...Not because he's a better player, but because it would make our TEAM better. Horford at PF>Josh Smith (as much as I love him) 2) Before last season, Baron Davis lost like 15 pounds...Then he ended up playing all 82 games...as long as he keeps the weight off, he's good to go. 3) Broken down??!?!?! He just played EVERY SINGLE GAME last year, and when healthy (as he was for the entire season), he is a top 4 PG in the league. Adding a top 4 PG in the LEAGUE to this team along with getting a top shelf defensive and rebounding center (thus moving Horford to his natural PF) would put us in the upper echelon of the East. FOR THE RECORD: Just in case people try to call me a "hater" of Josh Smith, he is my favorite player on the Hawks currently. However, I will trade anyone on this team as long as it makes us better.
  6. Quote: Quote: Wish as you will, but Law was not ready to lead this team. Acie has a ways to go to be an effective starter next season. Baron Davis is an All-Star level PG. But you don't trade a 22 year-old post player for an aging, injury prone, me-first pg like Davis. You make that trade to get you an Championship, you don't make it at this stage of building the team. Re: Trading JS- you only move JS for an equivalent young talent. I don't see any trades that make sense for the Hawks for JS right now, but someone out there may get hard-up to get Josh and offer a bonanza of young players and/or picks. Am I missing something??? How does Andris Biedrins not qualify as an "equivalent young talent"??? Why do people keep making this into a JS for Baron trade?? We get a top shelf PG and a very good defensive and rebounding center...What's the problem?
  7. Quote: you are insane...trade someone with unbelievable talent who works hard in the offseason to develop it for an old, injury prone point guard? hey i like baron but i'm not mortgaging the future for a 2year rental....not when we also have a future in acie...good lord man. It's basically trading Josh Smith for Biedrins (great rebounder and defender at CENTER), and Bibby/Andersen for Davis. What is so crazy about that?? It allows Horford to move to PF.
  8. Josh Smith/Mike Bibby/Rights to David Andersen for Baron Davis and Andris Biedrins. That would be AWESOME. Baron/Law JJ/ Salim/Richardson Marvin/Chillz Horford/ Solo Biedrins/Zaza
  9. We are in dire need of 3 point shooting from the SF position. Heck, before we traded for Bibby, JJ was the only player on the court that had that sort of range. It is a death knell to only have 2 players on the court that can shoot 3's. I'd trade Chillz for a legit SG no question. Heck, I'd even be fine with an Anthony Parker.
  10. There are a ton of players that get most of their points from driving or lay-ups, and I'd like to see who the best shooters in the NBA are. Thanks!
  11. And take Roy Hibbert? I'm not crazy about him, but he would give us some size down low. 7'2, 275lbs Then maybe we could do Bibby (13M expiring contract)/ Zaza for Kirk Hinrich Hinrich/Law JJ/Richardson/Salim Marvin/ FA?? Smoove/Andersen Horford/Hibbert/Solo I like that roster a lot actually...
  12. Quote: Kind of like Brandon Wright last year? If Beasley was as good as he's hyped up to be then I'd make this trade in a second, but Beasley is way overhyped. I seriously think Beasley is just not going to be a good NBA player. He'll be a decent scorer and that's it, he will suck at defense his entire career. I'm close to putting him in Randolph territory. A great comparison I saw was Derrick Coleman, I think that's his best case scenario. Now, if we are talking about Rose, I'd trade any player on our roster for him, he will be a star. If Beasley goes #1, how about this trade: Josh Smith, Mike Bibby (big expiring contract) for #2 pick (Rose), and Blount
  13. How much would it take to get Hinrich? Could we trade Childress for him straight up? How about Marvin straight up? Bibby/Childress for Hinrich/Noah?
  14. Not sure if we'd have to add in the rights to Anderson or what, but man, putting him at SF would make us SO much better. He is a great defender, and a very good 3 point shooter...The lack of 3 pt shooting from the SF position really hurt us this year, IMO. He's also got great experience...He annoys the hell out of me, but I'd love to have him.
  15. Quote: The 2 greatest words in sports: GAME SEVEN SO TRUE JACK!!! GO HAWKS!!!
  16. If he just plays good for this ONE game in this series, we can definitely win. I am actually really surprised we have been able to win 3 games with him shooting so poorly.
  17. I liked him back in the day...Just saw him on TV.
  18. I would think it would be the biggest upset in the history of sports...Seriously not joking. 37 win team vs. 66 win team in a SEVEN game series?? I think the seven game series thing is what puts it over the top...Anything can happen in a single game.
  19. How do they decide who gets the ball at the beginning of each quarter...? I've always tried to figure it out and my best guess is whatever team wins the tip gets the ball at the 4th quarter while the other team gets it 2nd and 3rd. Has nothing to do with home or away as far as I can tell... Sorry guys, I know this is a stupid question, but I have NEVER known how they do this...
