  1. Quote: If you haven't been a flame/spam war then you don't know what its like. Mostly boring and tedious. We have enough of that already on HS, no need to get Boston fans involved. Boston fans can be classy or complete ***holes. Lets not get them spaming this board, seriously. I totally agree, my college roomate was a celtic fan, aaaaarrrrrrrggggggggg.
  2. Man, I stop listening to "sports radio" in this city 5 years ago, could not handle the negativity. You don't need the stress-turn them off- vote with your feet, put um on the streets.
  3. Quote: I was ecstatic when I found out Indy lost and we clinched a playoff berth. Then I thought about it; which excites Hawks' fans more? The notion of getting rid of a regime that has underperformed, under produced, and underachieved? Or making it to the playoffs after nearly a decade? Which excites you more? The anticipation of making the playoffs? Or reading a breaking news update on ESPNews stating Billy Knight and Mike Woodson will not be retained? The playoffs excite me. We are in the playoffs man..... It's been nine...nine years since I been able to say that. Mookie, Smitty and the crew held the torch then. They were "mature" players on the back side of their prime. Now we have young players leading the charge. I am just happy we won't have to sit, wonder and watch from the sidelines; glad we have a dog in the fight. Nevertheless Woody must be terminated unless he can pull the upset and defeat Boston.

    IF>>>>>

I would consider that move a slight upgrade; if the numbers were right.
  5. Quote: Is it just me, or does that guy in the back seems far to happy, too be in that postion with Sammy ? ROFLMAO
  6. Quote: Marvin is a man ho. But we already knew that since he is adult that watches Spongebob. What kind of man watches Spongebob anyway? man this statement is stupid.
  7. Quote: Tough game. Tough loss. Sam I Am was on fire in the 4th and he singlehanded carried the Celtics on his back, hitting shot after shot, jumping into players and drawing the foul, doing his big d--- dance as he ran back down the court. This is a veteran team, filled with all star type players with a second unit that is better than many NBA starting five. They're probably favored to win it all. Yet, tonight, there was our Hawks, staying right with them until late in the 4th. When the Boston team pulls away late to take the win, our posters here find some that berate the Hawks for their play. At playoff time, experience means a lot. Boston's roster is filled with experienced players. It shows. Yet, our Hawks were staying with them. I believe they showed a lot of heart. They played hard. Some think that Boston will have an easy, four game sweep of the Hawks. Rest assured, they may sweep, but it ain't going to be easy. They will have to work hard for every win. Sam I am won't have four games to match tonight's. Any one who watched tonight's game and checks the season's stats - yet refuses to consider Al Horford for ROY. I'm still proud of the Hawks and I still believe in them. GO HAWKS!!!! Well said Gray, just hate that their bench showed us up.
  8. Quote: Quote: What's impressing me most tonight is not the Rebounds, or even the sweet jump shots (though his outside shooting tonight might be his best yet) but THE ATTITUDE. NIQUE loves it. Smitty loves it. Al is showing that he wants to win. He isn't backing down - not even an inch. And this is KG he is matched up against. The Almighty KG. And he is giving him some lip. And I love it. Hail, Al! Yep, I absolutely loved his passion out there. It was his play in the third that spurred on the team to get that lead. Al has got a big future in the NBA, he was an absolute monster there tonight. Great job Al! Yea, keep that fire. We love it.
  9. Quote: who cares. I do! This thing should be over but it is not, more drama for the next few days; we should have handled our business at home against the C's bench. Aaaaaaaaaagggggggg.
  10. I will go on record saying that we beat Boston tonight. It will be a fight but we "finally handle our business" and take charge of our destiny. Win tonight the magic number is down to one. Go Hawks.
  11. Quote: Quote: Quote: I'm a realist. Until this team proves they can win big games, it's hard to pick the Hawks. No you're not. Picking the Knicks to win tonite isn't a realist. A realist wouldn't pick a team that was a 5 pt underdog and a team we have beaten all 4 times this year. Anyway, I hope you are wrong again! I hope I'm wrong too We all hope you are wrong.
  12. Quote: Kenny the jet smith aka person who thinks that we have a "joe smith" on our team actually brought up an interesting point he said," that if seattle picked al and if al was switched with durant that they wouldnt have come this far. I really like al and i thought that he is a really good 3 pick but this is maybe another reason that he isnt rookie of the year. Obviously the "jet" has been grounded and needs inspection for such an stupid comment. The Sonics are not any better with durant, they are where we were three years ago (amassing talent). Of all the picks we have made over the years, Big Al is my fav. I wished we picked up a point instead of Sheldon Williams but that is spilt milk.
  13. Quote: Actually he did say that he would play his young players against teams that aren't in the playoff race and that he would play his regular rotation against the playoff teams. I really respect him for doing that and not just resting his guys and allowing us an easy win. I will be stunned if we don't get blown out if they play their regular rotation and that sucks but I would rather earn our way into the playoffs. Agreed.
  14. Being an Hawks fan for close to 30 years, I have to tell you; it hurts. I follow the Braves in baseball, not much of a hockey fan but I cheer for the thrashers, football I bleed Cowboy blue.
  15. Quote: For the Celts to lay down tonight. Play their second team against our guys. Why? 1. We're a better first round matchup than Indy. Let's face it, Indy has been hurt all year. However, with Dunleavy playing on fire, JO back, and Granger playing well, and a stronger bench... they have sufficient talent to upset the Celts in 1 on 1 action. 2. Why risk injuring their starters? 3. They can watch what we do weather it's their starters or 2nd team playing. This game is free scouting for Doc. Yea, it does make a lot of sense but I don't see Doc doing that. He will play his starters and try to send a "message" to Woody. It would be nice though, other than trying to send a message the C's have nothing to prove. Nevertheless the Hawks must play hard and handle their business at home tonight since we flopped in Indy. I think we can win this game but it will be a fight to the finish. "We made our beds hard, now we must sleep in it"
  16. Quote: zone defense. Just heard it from Peter V on NBATV. We cannot give Woodson any credit for that. According to Peter V he was here for about a week teaching them the zone defense. It doen't matter to me who "taught" it, to me the zone defense is not being played very well by this team. Defense as a whole must improve.
  17. Quote: http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/h...hawks_0412.html "At this point in time minutes shouldn't be an issue," Woodson said. "Boston played [Friday], too. And I don't know how many minutes their guys played. But it shouldn't matter." I guess he now plans to play JJ and our starters into the ground. Funny, because didn't Woodson say last week something like "I gotta start watching my guys minutes more". The difference is that Doc Rivers has a brain and got his starters some rest tonite. Wood-head , on the other hand, didn't rest his starters even though we had 20 pt leads most of the night. I agree with the other members of the board, we must get in the playoffs; minutes are not a primary concern. Win and get in..... Win and get in.
  18. LoL I needed that. Great post.
  19. Quote: I feel the same way, I guess I continue to lurk as a disgruntled fan, catch a few games and pray that Woodson gets the ax in this graphic.
  20. Quote: Go 76ers - - Beat the Pacers!! Their game is @ 7 and the Hawks @7:30 so we should know how this one is going by tip off time for us. I know we can't expect anyone to help us right now and apparently the 76ers have as much problem with the Pacers as we do. Still, a 76er victory wouldn't hurt my feelings any tonight. Our problem facing us comes from the NYK on our schedule. We really need this one, as we face the boys from up north tonight and another bunch tomorrow night. Things could get too tight for comfort if we're not on the ball. If we handle our business, it won't matter. Truth is though I am pulling for the 76ers because I don't have confidence this team can "handle" their business. Go-sixers.
  21. Quote: i don't think this post has anyone freakin out about making the playoffs...i think we're freakin out because our coach is an idiot and should know this. Bingo
  22. Pack his bags, we must get him outta here.
  23. ROFLOL! Our two sorry big men haven't produce much on the court but can generate some attention through a fight. Geessss.
