  1. Me too. What a strain on defenses with Salim, JJ and Harrington on the floor.
  2. I'll take that as an affirmative and run with it. I think the guy will surprise Walter and the other bashers who had their hopes on Curry. Lets hear a cheer for the Munster.....
  3. you bash????? It seems you think that you can run Marvin out of town before he even plays one minute in a real NBA game. Geeezzzzzzzzzzzz!
  4. Yea, that is what I said, he is a "band-aid." a temporary cover to help the wound we have in the middle, heal. Hopefully we make more "appropriate" moves to full the void in the middle.
  5. just his lack of durability. The man played little with the Hawks after signing the fat contract. To bring him back may be a band-aid; but it is not the answer.

    over/under

I say we win about 27 games this season.
  7. Quote: How does it makes sense for the author to say that Marvin's bust potential has declined (which is surprising because no games have been played yet); while at the same time say that his mental make-up suggests he doesn't have the drive to be a number one option? Yea! I feel the same way. I wish we let the man play in the NBA before trashing him. The premature bashing is beginning to rub me wrong.
  8. Quote: They follow the NBA, but they're all from NY, Detroit, and Chicago, so they follow their hometeams That's been my experience in this town, 90% of the people are from out of town and they follow their home teams.

    JJ at point

That would be my concern at this point also. Can Woodson get the job done. Granted he has a new team that has to learn to play together, yet I do have concerns over his coaching style. I would hope that the offense would be designed so that we do not "need" a Jason Kidd type to run it. I do not want to see street ball either. Woodson and the coaching staff has a lot of work to do.
  10. How about a fresh new uni for a fresh team. Why look back for inspiration, the future is bright, our uni should reflect that.
  11. yes he did. The man has the endorsement of his employers; he has to love his job. If JJ blows up here in Atlanta, Knight will look like a prophet.
  12. Help! When I post a new message, I am not being returned to the forum. I have to go back to it manually. This is Sage11. Can you guys help me?
  13. nice pic of Josh doing his thing. I voted for Josh of course.
  14. Nene is the guy I would like to see here! We Know very little about Darko....
  15. Quote: another term for "tweener Exacltly.
  16. Hey not so fast.... lets see what we have now that JJ's on board.
  17. Quote: That's a really clean payroll. No "mistakes" at all. I give him some grief sometimes, but he is a good businessman as well as talent evaluator. One more reason to question Belkin's rationale for stonewalling the JJ deal. BK isn't bad on the books or often wrong about talent. Very true.
  18. Actually the suit is a little large, I think the stress of it all has taken a toll on him. I would have doubts also if I were in his shoes. Belkin really screwed us in this situation. Thank God it turn out with the deal sealed and belkin out.
  19. any number is fine with me, just glad the man is finally a hawk.
  20. So Red, what the deal with the uni's? What do you suggest they look like to "fit" our new and exciting team? More detail please????
  21. Quote: Losers worry about what could go wrong; winners focus on what will go right The facts are these: one cannot acquire significant gain with out some level of risk. In investing the biggest gains are often associated with the largest risks. The Hawks are taking on some risks, but I like the caliber of material we are risking and the potential gains we shall reap. Everybody knows that draft picks are crap shoots, you simply don't know what you have until its too late to do anything about it. JJ is a proven commodity, he wants to be here and we want him here. Along with the Josh'es and Salim i think we are building a scary base for him to fit into. This team is sowing seeds of success, soon we will not be the door mat of the NBA, soon we will not be the leagues developmental team. Some argue we gave up too much, I hope JJ comes in here and shows them that maybe BK has a prophetic eye and pounced upon an opportunity that would not exist had he “sat” on his draft picks and money. I am glad to see that we have leadership in place that is willing to take some risks, not stupid risks but sound ones. That is what I think we have done here, we have taken a sound risk and hopefully it will yield us a “hundred fold” return. Yes we are building something special, and I am very happy over that.
  22. I agree with your subject line. The man is NOT a bust. Being a big fan of Marvin, I believe he will do whatever is necessary not to have such a label justifiably applied to him. I would like for us to give the kid a chance before we condemn him to the NBA scrap heap. Lets nurture his potential first, if after a while there is no improvement; then and only then can we begin to apply labels to him. Its way too early for labels. EVERY opinion at this point is speculation.
