  1. Now that the Harrington saga is over, I would have to give our efforts a b-. like you said nothing earthshaking happened. We added a few "wait and see" players in terms of performance but in my opinion we improved the team. I think we could have done better but that all behind us now. My biggest concern is still interior defense, Zaza and the Landlord will really have to step up to help shut down the middle. Marvin will need to exert himself this year and not take the passive submissive role.
  2. Quote: I wonder if we will see: The top 5 reasons why you can't blame the Atlanta Hawks for passing on Chris Paul. I was wondering the same thing.
  3. Quote: Hard to see how Jon Koncak and Adam Keefe didnt make this initial list as both were top 10 picks and both were terrible!!!! Be assured that they do, I guess Hendu just got under my skin more because he played very well and went south on us. Kack and Keefe were disappointments from day one.
  4. Quote: Also Bird/Nique was one of the greatest games ever i think Bird scored 20pts in the 4th quarter and Nique scored 16 in the 4th.Damn, if only the hawks had closed out the series in game 6 ... it could have been there year. I remember that game as if it were yesterday; Bird, like him or hate him, propelled the celtics in that game. Nique was unstopable, The sad thing is that we lost "the game"-
  5. Quote: He was "accused" of kidnapping some girl a few months ago. My point exactly. It was time to clean house therefore he had to go.
  6. Quote: I'll add to your points and say that Zaza needs to improve a bit on his defense. Don't get me wrong. I love his heart and fire but damn! His defense blew most of last year and that cannot happen again if we have a prayer of making the playoffs. You are dead on, Zaza has to step up and improve his d game or we will witness a "open middle" while he is in the game. His responsiblity on the court last year was one of our weakest areas. That cannot continue to be the case if we are to be a playoff team. Everyone on this team has to improve for us to make the playoffs. I hope there is a little healty competition between team members on who will improve the most this summer. From the looks of things, Smooth is out front.
  7. Quote: We haven't had a wining season since that JR trade. The brother had issues, character issues....what is he doing these days anyway? You cannot build a team around that kind of person, so the door was his destiny.
  8. Hendu was pehaps the most picked on guy I posted and screamed about on that list. I hated how after he signed for the big money, he sat down on the bench in street clothes because of "injuries." What a nightmare.
  9. Yes, he is a cheap, lazy big. Hope his game gets better, what a waste of height.
  10. Quote: Either way, too many bigs is a good problem to have, because I can almost guarantee that we may have a big get injured for at least 1 game. I agree....
  11. Quote: Ranks #11 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds Per 48 Minutes(4.8) Ranks #6 in the NBA in Blocks Per 48 Minutes(3.12) He is no Shaq but IF he continues to develop...he will do. L.A. probably sees Bynum as their big for the future. Do you actually think that Dr. Buss will let this guy go?.. if you do I say you don't get it. LA can use a guy like Al but are not as desperate as some other teams like Indy. Why waste talent on a still unproven commodity? We can do better and should expect more than what you are proposing.
  12. Quote: Al/Childress for Bynum/filler in last yr of contract/perhaps lotto protected 1st? Trades can't always be talent equal. Sometimes you sacrifice talent for team. I will trade Al for Bynum staight up; chill is too good to be "filler" in the deal. I like the concept but will not throw in chill for Bynum- it is simply too much.
  13. Nice post KB. One of the best to dawn a Hawks uni. Glad to see Lou getting better.
  14. I simply find this hard to fathom. I will believe it when it is completed, until then....speculation. Anyways I for one do not want to see AI in a hawks uniform. He is WAY too costly to acquire.
  15. The playoffs are possible! If we can sign a big vet, let me go on record to say that is what I predict. If we do not sign a big (good) vet, I doubt we finish with a high pick unless we simply luck out in the lottery-at the wrong time.
  16. Thanks for the link.....I've replayed it twice already. Can't wait to see if the new hawks high flyers can take their place alongside greatness.

    Impressive.

Quote: Wasn't that quote about MW being able to do "his thing" in the SL? Yes that was the context of those comments. We all will have to wait and see for the regular season.
  18. Quote: SC: I think I've been a little underrated in the league. Hopefully once you see my play and get a feel for my game, you’ll be happy you have me." Nice to see some bravado, I hope it rubs off. I must confess I am excited to see that we have a pg who is ready to play and make an immediate impact. Now we need a big....hope we snag someone with AL leaving. I never place a lot of stock in rumors.
  19. Quote: You know it would be a bad day in Hawkland if we got KMart. I know that BK really liked Kmart but come on... this guy is not worth it! I could not agree with you more. No to K-(knee replacement)mart.
  20. Not yet, but we are farther down the road.
  21. Any day of the week. A Big Ben type with some o-yes. Theo was not bad, just hurt all the time. Sheldon I pray will be more durable.
  22. Quote: Diaw- i love the player and all. i dont criticize him as much as others on this board. i really do like his game and all. but hes a BONAFIDE ROLE PLAYER! not a star. not even close. I agree, Diaw is a role player, not a star. I wonder about next season when Amari returns if his contributions will be as noticable.
