  1. inability, and that my friend is where your argument breaks down. I would much rather have a player that can hold down several positions than one who can only hold down one. Magic was a perfect example of a "versatile" player. He could hold down any position on the court if he chose to. BK is wise to fill this roster with players with the potential to play more than one position. Such a philosophy does not neglect the need to fill the position, but it covers each position AND creates mismatches for the opposing team on defense. BK is NOT producing a new paradigm, he is just expanding what we have seen glimpses of in the past.
  2. Much better, I can wear this one, but to have someone elses name from the message board on my tee shirt, unthinkable...
  3. Thanks, good information. Any word on if we are keeping Collier???
  4. I am just glad by year's end Belkin will be outta here. Party, Party!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. THANKS MR. Levenson!!!!!! Sage will be in the house with two of my best friends. I love the hawks and can't wait to get the season underway. I especially thank you for standing up to Belkin. Soon the evil will be exorcised. Keep up the good work and tell Billy to stay the course, he is building something special here in Atlanta that this city and state will be proud of. The Hawks have my full support....
  6. Gray I am with you. I do not see all that you mentioned beyond the realm of possible or plausible. This team is full of potential. Hard work, experience, and good leadership can and will bring it out. I am waiting and hopeing that it does.
  7. Quote: The Hawks' proposed lineup of Johnson at the point, Josh Childress at the two, Smith or Harrington at the three and Marvin Williams at the four is enticing, if mismatched. Considering what the Hawks have put on the floor lately, though, it's a step in the right direction. It's more than a step it's a leap....
  8. Yes he did. He went out of his way to say that he was not ruling on the "other owners" behalf yet he had to admit that his ruling was moot because "major" circumstances forced him to nullify it.
  9. Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the evil will be cast out....
  10. The pressure would shift from the owners to the players to be excel for this thing to work out best. I agree the Joshes, JJ AND Marvin need to kick butt and take names in the coming years for BK and the owners to redeem themselves. The city waits, ready to pile on the applause if the team matures into a powerhouse.....I have my fingers crossed and my credit card ready to take advantage if it happens....Good times in hotlanta again....B ball will be back.

  12. Quote: In court and in his written ruling, Suffolk County Superior Court Judge Allan van Gestel focused on a line in the contract the owners entered into with the NBA upon buying the team: " Removal [ of the govenor] shall require the prior approval of the NBA commissoner, which shall be granted if the proposed replacement govenor is any owner who ... [owns] a greater than 10 percent stake." Gearon owns about 17 percent." From what I read of the ruling, the judge said that the other owners did not receive Stern's blessing in removing Belkin as gov, so that is why he ruled in favor of Belkin. Now that reason has been neutralized. So according to 790 the zone we have to go back to court to have him removed as gov. Either way I am happy!!!!
  13. 790 JUST REPORTED THE STORY. So back to court we go. Judge needs to take Stern's advice.
  14. the devil is demoted....
  15. Come on Diesel, we don't heckle you too much. The board would not be the same without you.
  16. Belkin is acidic to this franchise, the T.O. of the Hawks; buy him out and show him the door....
  17. WHAT BELKIN HAS DONE IS EVIL AND UGLY.----HE MUST GO!!!!!
  18. I'm monitoring both stations and so far nothing.....sigh!
  19. Diesel, if Belkin is booted, I see the Hawks becoming a much sought after ticket in hotlanta. Such a move certainly endears the team to the city in my opinion.
  20. When Stern issues his verdit, and hopefully remove Belkin as governer, there is still some work that has to be done to restore what little respectability the team did have. Belkin will need to be removed from the ownership circle, someone needs to step up and buy him out. Hopefully this occurs soon so that Belkin does not do anything eles like this in the future. Belkin removal will do a lot to heal the perceptions that this franchise is poorly run. Much of the dirt will stick to belkin.
