I don't think DJ is going to be traded.   Just a bunch of guys talking.   Nothing makes sense.

I’d love if we can make a Trae/DJ/JJ/OO quartet work if we could build pieces around it. I love Bogi too, but thinking more long term.

Edited to add, get that ugly winter storm looking thing off your recent posts @Diesel

Sounds exactly like what we have been talking about for the past week and half.

My biggest concern honestly. Trae having fun in OKC or somewhere else, while we flounder around like the Pistons.

I would do this in a heartbeat.

Are you assuming JJ plays more at the 3? I see a potential log jam in our front court with JJ/CC/OO here. Glad to be wrong though. Value wise, at least there is a decent player.

Wow ! Guess I been under a rock …I thought Wiggins had changed since being in GS,

Wiggins went from being the underachieving top guy to being a role player on a winning team. That changes the narrative a lot. Solid player but he’s not going to move the needle for most teams.

  5. Trading DJM back to the Spurs for the picks we gave them would truly be one of the weirdest trades ever, not that I'd mind it. It reminds me of something that would happen with little kids. I want my player back! I want my picks back! Fine, here is your player! Fine, here are your picks!

  6. I remember AJ was considered young for a freshman, just checked and he turned 20 this past August. I know most of us didn’t have all of our stuff figured out at that age. Hope he is getting the support he needs first and foremost, and can return to his early season form on the court once he’s ready. I still have high hopes for him!

Strong brotherly bond between Jalen and Dejounte that I didn't know about (from Peachtree hoops):

“Dejounte came in and immediately was a big brother to me,” said Johnson of Murray. “Took me under his wing, gave me advice. Right now we’re really close. Having that guy, having that leader to get on you when he knows you’re not doing what you’re capable of. If I pass up on the shot he’s that guy getting on me in the timeout ‘Shoot the ball, shoot the ball, you’re in the gym working on that.’ He sees me working. Having Dejounte around this year that was great personally and for my growth.”

Similarly, Murray shared how he felt about Johnson and how he gravitated to him.

“That’s my guy,” said Murray of Johnson. “I told him I’ll be around. I want him to work out where I’m going to be. Told him I want him to come with his boys, his family, whoever he wants just to come be around. I really appreciate who he is as a person. That’s one thing I look into people. I don’t care how good you are at basketball, or whatever you do. Who you are, how you treat people — I see the way he would treat a janitor, the coach, the GM, the owner, you treat them all equally. That’s important for me, that’s how I live by. For him, I just see a great person and a guy with a great work ethic. I told him ‘Don’t rush greatness, don’t rush your journey. Enjoy the ups and downs, the playing, the not playing because it’s bound to happen for you. Anything you dreamed of if you continue to work and be a great person it will all happen. That’s my guy, I want the best for him and I’m going to support him until I can’t no more.”

One reason I hope we can make the Trae/JJ/DJ combo work. Obviously we aren’t there by any means, but one can hope.

  8. Raise your hand if you are happy after years of John Collins trade rumors, we still have him in a thread titled “Hawks looking to trade” after we traded him. No disrespect to those debating it, but it’s pretty funny.

I'm not suggesting we take JC back, but these people who belittle him probably couldn't make a layup if they were guarded by a 95 year old grandma using a walker.

I’ll admit I laughed out loud at this one. Those walkers can be dangerous though.

Have you ever looked at each team's best FA signing?  Even well run franchises strike out in free agency most of the time.    https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/37923744/nba-free-agency-every-team-most-impactful-signing-2010

    Here's some of the lowlights:

That Josh Smith signing was instrumental to their record season this year. Kidding aside, I spent some time in MI when he was there and they hated him more than we did lol.

Hawks need to worry about fixing this team, not how they look.. They tried, it didnt work.. They probably should tried to fix the bum ass frontcourt first, but whatever....

I do think how they look matters some when players think about playing here. Agree on fixing the frontcourt, that focus should have been prioritized.

I thought that at first but i think he signed knowing that it would be an easy deal to move and if he did he'd get moved to a playoff team.  So I'm guessing he's good either way.   I bet he'd like to be the primary PG again somewhere.

I agree with this and thought the same as well. I just kind of hate getting rid of a guy who wants to be here when we have that massive TPE sitting on the table.
