I don't wish ill will upon anyone, I just wish Trae got the same amount of 2nd chances the masses have given to Ja.

An (alleged) 25 game suspension after everything he has been involved in this past year would be less than a slap on the wrist at this point.

I just wish these people would be man enough to say that they chose the wrong hero

Trae is a villain, a coach killer, a bad teammate, etc... every negative title they can think of.

Meanwhile, Ja is doing everything that the NBA has fought hard to get away from it's image, yet it's shaping up to be just some dramatic comeback story of forgiveness.

I don't get it. Trae can be one of your faces if you let him. He is not behind Ja in any way except public opinion.

I’ve always said the perception is there because of highlights. Solid game management and getting guys great looks that don’t result in monster dunks don’t show well and that hurts Trae’s perception. They just show his deep threes and a random lob to CC, so most folks assume that is his game. Ja does more flashy stuff (no pun intended for his off the court stuff) so people just assume he is better.

Looks like Monty landed back on his feet quick! Good for him!

    .

I’m sorry 6 years 80 mill is a lot. Wtf are the Pistons doing?

They have to be the stupidest NBA team ever.

Do they think he can still play too or something? For a franchise that has some good history, they really have become such a joke.

  3. There are about 40 people that post in here. We are all fans of the Hawks, a franchise we all love but when you tell people you are a Hawks fan they usually ask why.

Everyone has emotions and is titled to their opinion, but we are all here because we love that team. We are a small and unique bunch and with our season over, there is going to be less to talk about. If something is making you mad or unhappy, I always say just walk away and come back when you are ready. Same to those folks causing problems. Just my random .02. This is a great community and everyone makes it that way in their own unique way.

The issue with awful Laker rumors is the other awful rumors that will come from teams like, we want to r@*e Atlanta too. Even if it's means nothing at the end of the day, we are trying to build a contender, we need good press to land good players in addition to what we already have

And trying to explain to people, not on this forum, who casually follow the Hawks that Trae Young is not going to the Lakers and having to explain why 100 times.

Same. Love me some Jaylen Brown, Malcolm in the middle from the ATL’s and Marcus Smart, for as much of an Ahole that foo competes and plays to win.

Ya, I wish they were… the Hawks :laugh1: ok fine…. Theeeeeeee Seattle SuperSonics(I can’t name any current team hatem all).

Marcus has kind of matured as an annoying player to a good but semi annoying player lol. I remember him stepping over Trae a couple of years ago and that was a bad look. I respect his game now, he’s solid.

    Same here.

It's easy to hate Smart and Horford, but Brown and Tatum are likable players.  Grant Williams is my boy from UT, so I can't hate him. And the rest of their team plays their roles to perfection.

I love the way they play the game and they don’t have divas like Paul Pierce. A big reason I’m thankful for Snyder is I think we will see more of that style of basketball. Making the extra pass, good defense, etc.

  7. Trae would have made Josh better for sure in many aspects if Josh was willing to play to his strengths. He is clearly the guy on the team and wouldn’t let Josh take over that role. My concern though is spacing. Josh would still probably try to become the three point shooter he was not to give Trae more room to operate. So it might wind up being a wash in the long run.

  8. I will say I love the current state of the NBA. A lot of solid, well coached teams but nobody that scares me. The Heat and Knicks in the semi finals lol, I’d love to take on either one of them in a 7 game series today.

Let Snyder get his system fully in, upgrade some talent on this team, and let’s see what happens. We aren’t close to a championship as of today, but we aren’t far from making some serious noise in the playoffs.

  9. John is an enigma because of his leadership and things we don’t see on the court. Whatever happens, I’ll either miss the guy and actively root for his career or hope Quinn has a better plan for him if he stays. I think he is underutilized with what we run, but we aren’t changing our offense to make John Collins fit. Game 5 though, you see him step up and I could tell it was a “I’m not ending my Hawks career in Boston” moment.

It's told more than enough especially when you play 30+ minutes. We need someone who can guard those f***ing wings and Dre rose up tonight to that task. This not giving Dre credit is really getting on my f***ing nerves. It's causing me to lose respect for some of the posters I usually respect.

I don’t get into the arguments much, but I like Dre. Inconsistent as hell, but I blame coaching.

I think a lot of us see the same thing you do. All of us just want him to be more consistent..but doing it in big games helps him as a player. He’s had his moments..

The two touchstone plays for me were Trae backpedaling and deflecting the ball off Smart and grabbing an offensive rebound off Bey’s transition drive.  Even his biggest supporters can agree those type of plays happen far too seldomly: the type of plays that tip the scales in close games versus good teams.  Winning floor game from him tonight.

You know I’ll never hate your takes. Sometimes harsh, but you call out the good when you see it.
