I dont begrudge him for making his preference known. I begrudge him for trying to hold POR hostage with all his media sycophant allies. At some point he just has to accept going where TF POR sends him. Players wanna say 'it's a business' when it suits them. Well, it's still a business when you don't have a no trade clause and have to go where you're sent.
I agree 100%. If guys want to hop around from team to team sign shorter contracts. The whole story of things will be bad if he doesn’t get to the Heat is stupid to me. These players make plenty of enough money to sign shorter contracts and control their own freedom instead of signing a max extension and holding a franchise hostage.

From what I am hearing we should emphasis SHOULD have a trade announced over the next few days that hasn't been announced/leaked already.
Kind of reading between the lines, but I think the key is that this isn’t a player who hasn’t been rumored for us but instead a package we haven’t seen rumored for a player who has been linked to us?

AJ has a good frame for his age. Defensive instincts aside, having a body that can handle the grind will help.

Regarding PG, I think our core could use someone who has been there and performed in big moments (albeit not a championship winner) and could command respect from the younger core. Not sure if KAT does that, though I’m all for him playing with Trae.

James Harden’s beard and Trae’s hair would make for quite the pairing.

For those of you that follow the league more, do you think Rudy Gay has a place in our rotation? His stats obviously reflect an older player getting 10-15 or so mins a game, but does he have any use other than a vet helping young guys learn the in and outs.

I'm not disappointed. I'm relieved. We've been trying to get to this point for a while now. Nobody really knew his market value but this is a classic case of letting an asset decline in value.
In that sense, I can agree (while still being disappointed) that we won't be hearing John Collins trade rumors all year long.

I'll let the offseason play out, but this is definitely a disappointing start. Best of luck to you, JC! Good player but even a better person.

Jake saying Atlanta was talking Hunter trade but Marc heard what I heard, 7 for 15 and Hunter.
Also, I heard that spiel on Capela and having two centers from Landry yet my guy and even others said what I heard which is Capela is very available
At this point, the one thing everyone is getting is its gonna cost Atlanta some assets to get rid of JC unless some teams miss on key FAs. JC would be a lot more tradeable if he only had one to two years max on his deal which is widely seen as an overpay
Also Atlanta hasn't offered Murray for no one but if PG13 or Kawhi become available, I heard they will.
Don't forget, Bogi also can be traded. Atlanta has time. Tony still reeling from the Kevin trade which hurt more than it helped.
I don’t see us getting rid of Bogi. It honestly feels like we are going to run it back unless it’s a DJM + talent offer to improve our team. I’m good with that knowing we have QS running the show. Thanks for passing on your info, @NBASupes.

The new insider thread started off with a bang, as expected .

@Spud2niquefor the record, that thread was a mess and the closing had nothing to do with you. Like @Sothronsaid, it was a monster thread that had about 100 different debates going on. I actually asked @AHFand the moderators to consider putting a rumor thread at the top, which they luckily agreed to trial, because once information was shared it would get buried so quickly. I'm normally on here at least once a day and I had no idea what was going on for awhile there lol.

I literally told a relative that early today. Its VERY plausible Murray plays one more year in Atlanta and reups with the Spurs, those 3 first round picks and Wembayama.
Not saying it didn’t hit his mind, but the Spurs getting Wemby wasn’t a guaranteed thing.

I love the fact in the NFL and NBA draft people are just waiting around to make trades if you aren’t in an obvious position to make a pick.

Yeah, just let porzingo walk. What 'draft compensation' are they even getting from Loston or LAC that makes thus worth their while?
Their own first overall pick in the draft next year, or so they hope.

Our FO is being very active on the trade fronts. Almost every team is being really active. It is unusually high.
There were so many teams that were talented but didn’t fit well last year so I can see why. I mean, you had the Heat in the finals lol. With the parity in the league (which I love), a lot of teams probably feel they are a tweak or two away and are looking for some win/win scenarios for both teams.

I’ll give you the go ahead if that helps.

I don't wish ill will upon anyone, I just wish Trae got the same amount of 2nd chances the masses have given to Ja.
An (alleged) 25 game suspension after everything he has been involved in this past year would be less than a slap on the wrist at this point.
I just wish these people would be man enough to say that they chose the wrong hero
Trae is a villain, a coach killer, a bad teammate, etc... every negative title they can think of.
Meanwhile, Ja is doing everything that the NBA has fought hard to get away from it's image, yet it's shaping up to be just some dramatic comeback story of forgiveness.
I don't get it. Trae can be one of your faces if you let him. He is not behind Ja in any way except public opinion.
I’ve always said the perception is there because of highlights. Solid game management and getting guys great looks that don’t result in monster dunks don’t show well and that hurts Trae’s perception. They just show his deep threes and a random lob to CC, so most folks assume that is his game. Ja does more flashy stuff (no pun intended for his off the court stuff) so people just assume he is better.

Watching this coaching carousel play out makes me really thankful we went ahead and grabbed Quin during the regular season.

I’m sorry 6 years 80 mill is a lot. Wtf are the Pistons doing?
They have to be the stupidest NBA team ever.
Do they think he can still play too or something? For a franchise that has some good history, they really have become such a joke.

There are about 40 people that post in here. We are all fans of the Hawks, a franchise we all love but when you tell people you are a Hawks fan they usually ask why.
Everyone has emotions and is titled to their opinion, but we are all here because we love that team. We are a small and unique bunch and with our season over, there is going to be less to talk about. If something is making you mad or unhappy, I always say just walk away and come back when you are ready. Same to those folks causing problems. Just my random .02. This is a great community and everyone makes it that way in their own unique way.

The issue with awful Laker rumors is the other awful rumors that will come from teams like, we want to r@*e Atlanta too. Even if it's means nothing at the end of the day, we are trying to build a contender, we need good press to land good players in addition to what we already have
And trying to explain to people, not on this forum, who casually follow the Hawks that Trae Young is not going to the Lakers and having to explain why 100 times.

I gotta say, what just happened to the sixers in that game 7 made [what happens in prison] look tame in comparison.
That's as clean as I could get it.

Same. Love me some Jaylen Brown, Malcolm in the middle from the ATL’s and Marcus Smart, for as much of an Ahole that foo competes and plays to win.
Ya, I wish they were… the Hawks ok fine…. Theeeeeeee Seattle SuperSonics(I can’t name any current team hatem all).
Marcus has kind of matured as an annoying player to a good but semi annoying player lol. I remember him stepping over Trae a couple of years ago and that was a bad look. I respect his game now, he’s solid.

I agree with people talking, but I am tired of seeing players sign a deal and then demanding a trade. I’m all for making the most money you can, but at some point they need to stop signing these extensions and asking for trades. Prioritize what is important for your career, mainly flexibility in these cases. You will be rich regardless playing basketball for somebody.
