  1. Smoove had an injured hand and couldn't hold the ball. They were saying before the game that it was swolen and huring him quite badly. He played a hard game; he was injured and took two shots to the face.
  2. Quote: Don't worry. The Hawks are back in the east. The big playoff push is coming. Woa!! Who are you and what have you done with Hotlanta1981?
  3. Quote: Bibby is moving mighty gingerly out there...I mean, I understand he's hurt...but he's moving like he's 50. I hope that I can move like that when I'm 50. He looks much better than in previous games.
  4. That's his second great pass this game.
  5. You can tell that the Spurs are a little frustrated right now. The Hawks need to up the shooting %.
  6. Its on, and I think that this just became the official game thread.
  7. Quote: When was the last time this franchise won 5 games in a row? Ain't gonna happen. Well, the last 5 in a row would have happend against the Pacers on Deceber 26th, 2007. Unfortunatly, the 3rd game in that streak is the outstanding Miami game. So, if we beat Miami, does that count for 5 in a row? How the heck does that work? If that streak doesn't count, then it has been 8 years. The Hawks are about due don't you think?
  8. Yip, we are still in it. This is going to be fun to watch. Here are my preditions from another post. We are already up 1 win since the Golden State game. @Golden State L @Utah L @San Antonio L Sacramento W NY Knicks W @Boston L Golden State L @New Orleans L @Charlotte W Miami W @Orlando L Houston L LA Clippers W @NY Knicks W @Washington W @New Jersey L Orlando L @Chicago W Milwaukee W Chicago W NY Knicks W @Memphis W Toronto L Philadelphia W @Philadelphia L @Indiana W @NY Knicks W Boston L Orlando L Miami W
  9. The Spurs are just starting their annual 2nd half of the season run. Look for them to come out strong against the Hawks.
  10. We have space on our roster, so hopefully we sign him to a longer deal. He does need to bulk up some, but he's a great shooter to go to off the bench.
  11. Quote: In the running for what? The playoffs. You must still be asleep.
  12. Quote: the problem is that we can't beat ANYBODY on the road, East or West. Then just give up Atlantaholic. Give up and go home.
  13. Great argument there Hotlanta. I bet it took you hours to come up with that. If you think I'm wrong, why don't you man up and take the bet? It looks like no one else wants to.
  14. So... Anyone else exited about the playoff race? Or do you all just want to [censored] about the Hawks all day long. "Ooohhh, woe is me. Woody is terrible. The Hawks have no tallent. I can't watch this crap. I give up. I think I'll root for the Hornets instead." WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! WE'RE IN THE RUNNING!!! ISN'T THIS WHAT YOU WAITED 3 YEARS FOR!!!
  15. Quote: If I had to put money on it...I would place a large bet against the Hawks making the playoffs. Okay, $10 says the Hawks make the playoffs this year. Are you in?
  16. Here's my predition for the rest of the season. It may be a little optimistic, but who knows, we might even win against some good teams. It is going to be tight. Get ready for an exciting playoff race. Woohoooo!!! 16 Wins 14 Losses @Golden State L @Utah L @San Antonio L Sacramento W NY Knicks W @Boston L Golden State L @New Orleans L @Charlotte W Miami W @Orlando L Houston L LA Clippers W @NY Knicks W @Washington W @New Jersey L Orlando L @Chicago W Milwaukee W Chicago W NY Knicks W @Memphis W Toronto L Philadelphia W @Philadelphia L @Indiana W @NY Knicks W Boston L Orlando L Miami W
  17. Quote: we can't even beat Chrlotte without Greald Wallace I think that having Bibby will put an end to those days.
  18. Quote: It's not Woody's fault the Hawk players aren't good enough. You finally need to realize that JJ, Smoove, Childress and the others are not good enough to win basketball games. Not good enough to win basketball games. It's that simple. Bottomline. Oh brother. You've got to be kidding me. You have to admit that the Hawks players are still developing. You would have to be delusional to even entertain the idea the Hawks would breeze into the playoffs this year. Next year, especally if we get the center we are looking for, you better watch out.
  19. Quote: Dude, you got a 20 year brain freeze. You've got me there. Edited the original post.
  20. I only watched the first half of the game last night, but it seemed that the Lakers went to the full court press quite often. I would have to assume that Phil Jackson made this call because we had in Bibby, a point guard who wasn't familiar with our offence, and in Acie, a rooky point guard who could be easily distracted. I've only seen Woodsen run the full court press once this year. I believe that Mario West was in at the time and the press actually forced a turnover. So, why don't the Hawks run the press more often? PS Please refrain from just saying "Because Woody sucks!!" At least put some thought behind it.
  21. Quote: Marvin = ??? Marvin needs to use his turn around jumper. He should be able to shoot over most forwards without faking them out. Marvin, STOP driving to the basket when the defender is right in front of you and you can only move left. And, if you CAN move right and draw two defenders, pass the ball. Take the dunks when they come to you, and they will, don't force the issue.
  22. Quote: Quote: This whole team is a failure. yeah, pretty much. Oh, come on. That's just dumb.
  23. Come on, Zaza's not THAT bad. Sure, he's not an offensive dynamo, but his D is pretty good. He had a much better game than Horford with the same minutes. The guy plays with heart. I remember times last year where he looked physically abused but stilled played hard.
  24. I was impressed with Acie's play last night. He showed us that he can score and play descent defense. In fact, I'm pretty impressed with his 3 steals. That's just 1 less than the rest of the team combined. It was great watching him cut to the basket, sometimes through 3 defenders. I think that Acie needs some time to learn how to distribute the ball better. Bibby showed us last night how good he is at this, and as you said, Acie can learn alot from him. Bibby would have a few more assists had the rest of the Hawks made their shots during the first quarter.
