  1. In a tennis stadium! Nice. I'm glad they didn't do something stupid like hold it in a football stadium. I went to a Hawks game a few years back when they were playing in the Dome. It was a little strange seeing bleachers setup on the 50 yard line and people sitting all they way at the top of the dome to watch a basketball game. I don't think they were actually watching the game though. Crazy kids.
  2. Ha, You guys already have Mike Bibby in the title bar.
  3. I agree, I can't wait to see these guys in action. I'm looking forward to Bibby improving those around him more than his ability to score. Marvin needs to slow down some, I think he's rushing his jumper. Around the time that Smoove showed a drastic improvement he made the comment that he stopped trying to force things and just let the game come to him. marvin needs to mature in the same way. I still think this kid has huge potential.
  4. Yea, I feel bad for Crumper, but I'm sure someone will pick him up.
  5. I would love to see the Hawks make a trade before the deadline, but I think that it is more likely that they won't. This is just a hunch, but I think that the Hawks will make a trade after the season is over. They'll more than likely trade with teams like Miami or New York who want to win now, and don't necessarily want to build through the draft. Doing this may free up some cap space as they will be taking on another rooky contract. This will make the ASG happy given the current ownership dispute.
  6. Oh boy, it would be great to get Thabeet. Unfortunatly, I have no idea how we could get him. If you paid me BK's sallary I'm sure that I could figure something out.
  7. You know, I loved their defense tonight. I think this more than anything else helped them to win the game. Josh Smith's blocks were a great help, but the entire team forced Philly to run out the shot clock at least 4 times. We already know that the Hawks can score, now they need to play D like this every night. Mark
  8. I don't know when the coin flip is, but, yea, I think that the Falcons should beef up their D.
  9. This just in, the Hawks will fire Woody and win an NBA championship in 2012. These two events are so improbable that it will cause the end of all reality as we know it. On a lighter note, HawkSquawk will remain for those who want to debate the merits of Chris Paul vs Marvin Williams and will no doubt complain about about the end of reality as we know it. Peace out.
  10. Well, the Blazers are a good team and should present a challenge to the Hawks. It should be a good game. I wouldn't get too pissed if I were you. Most people on this board were expecting the Hawks to just sneak into the playoffs this year, and this is holding true so far. We're not a complete team yet. I'm optimistic that the Hawks will improve greatly this year and look forward to them being in the middle to the top of the playoff picture next season. Have faith. p.s. Yes, the ownership issue must be resolved sooner than later. Hopefully before the trade deadline next year.
  11. You need to work on your delivery.
  12. Quote: The Macbook air is thin and light weight, but it also goes completely against what the rest of the laptops in the industry are doing. When other manufacturers are trying to give you more of everything in as small and convenient a package as possible, Apple puts out a laptop that gives you less and is hailed as innovative. You can only have 2gb of ram, but according to their website this is "more-than-generous". The hard drive is literally last decade technology and also can't be user upgraded. It only includes one USB port, has no optical drive (nobody burns dvds anymore), has no wired ethernet porta and like all their other produts, you can't buy and replace the battery yourself. Yet this is innovative because it's thin and light? How light will it be when you factor in the 5lbs of gear you have to carry around with you to make it truely usable? All good points, but people are still going to buy it. Some poeple only need the basics; word processing, email, etc.
  13. The Hawks, and BK, got lucky with the lottery this year. I'm glad JJ is on our team reguardless. It will be interesting to see what moves the Hawks make when the season is over. You would think that they would want to do something to improve the team and probably won't/can't do it through the draft for a change. Oh, and, GO HAWKS.
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't hear about the Falcon's acquisitions until they've signed on the dotted line. I can only imagine that this has strengthened Arthur's resolve to hire the best and make the Falcon's great.
  15. Period. Acie Law's assist to Josh Smith at 5:30 in the 4th quarter was priceless, just priceless.
  16. Horford has 10 rebounds in 11 minutes of play at the end of the 1st half.
  17. Duuuuude.... Good for you. I'll sit there one day.
  18. Thank you Hawks. The bench was amazing. No-one on the Hawks scored over 20 and we won by large margin.
  19. Smith needs to be our low post scorer, but he likes to take jumpers he can't make. He realy needs to stop taking those shots until he's ready. I've seen Horford put on a good show in the low post, driving to the basket and posting up with great success.

    Oh... BTW...

That was an awesome play. I firmly believe that Chill will beef up some as he matures. I would love to see the Hawks hang onto him. I still laugh every time I see him take a jumper, boy does he have odd form. It seems to work okay for him though.
  21. I couldn't have said it better. No doubt he will help, but I'm not sure he's worth the price.
  22. Yip, I posted about this yesterday. We made our comeback with that lineup and held the Sonics to 1 point for two minutes. It would have been worth a shot for a couple of minutes in one of the OT's just to see if this lineup would hold the Sonics while Chill, Joe, and Marvin scored.
  23. I only wish that Woody had gone back to the following lineup during the beginning of one of the overtimes. Joe Marvin Chill Horford Zaza This was the lineup we had in the 3rd quarter when we held the Sonics on D and caught up. It would have been worth a shot, its not like Salim was making alot of shots. 6:50 70-62 Josh Childress enters the game for Tyronn Lue 6:50 70-62 Marvin Williams misses free throw 2 of 2 6:50 70-62 Zaza Pachulia offensive rebound 6:45 70-64 Marvin Williams makes 18-foot jumper (Joe Johnson assists) 6:28 Chris Wilcox misses 12-foot jumper 70-64 6:26 70-64 Al Horford defensive rebound 6:16 70-66 Zaza Pachulia makes layup (Joe Johnson assists) 6:16 Seattle full timeout 6:16 Delonte West enters the game for Chris Wilcox 70-66 6:16 Jeff Green enters the game for Earl Watson 70-66 5:58 70-66 Joe Johnson shooting foul (Damien Wilkins draws the foul) 5:58 Damien Wilkins makes free throw 1 of 2 71-66 5:58 Damien Wilkins misses free throw 2 of 2 71-66 5:56 71-66 Marvin Williams defensive rebound 5:47 Nick Collison personal foul (Zaza Pachulia draws the foul) 71-66 5:33 71-66 shot clock violation 5:18 Kevin Durant lost ball (Marvin Williams steals) 71-66 5:16 71-68 Josh Childress makes layup 5:16 Delonte West shooting foul (Marvin Williams draws the foul) 71-68 5:16 71-68 Salim Stoudamire enters the game for Zaza Pachulia 5:16 71-69 Josh Childress makes free throw 1 of 1 4:56 Jeff Green misses 12-foot jumper 71-69 4:56 71-69 Josh Childress defensive rebound 4:48 71-71 Joe Johnson makes driving layup
