  1. Reverting to Iso Joe would only be an issue if we're doing it in the playoffs.
  2. Where's my "Bring in Keith Van Horn as a positions coach" option?
  3. I'm not sure Marc Gasol had 1% of his current trade value at the time he was traded. Other then that I agree. Just still don't know of a better alternative to resigning Joe, unless maybe Bob Sura was willing to come out of retirement.
  4. There's a big difference in an apple and horse s***. Let's see where a new coach can get us. And no one really mentions that Crawford and Mo are expiring and we have future firsts. The Lakers got Pau Gasol for a whole lot less than that.
  5. Yeah, not so much a backhanded compliment, but definitely a compliment. It was more making fun of the fans who are pissed we resigned Joe, as if we had any other options considering we're over the cap. I've never seen a fanbase angry at an ownership for spending money on an all star. Anyway, I suppose this topic shouldn't have been started, and I deeply, deeply apologize. It really takes away from insightful topics such as, "Hawks MANAGMENT Grabd your ***** and pull the offer" that had nearly 100 replies and over 1,000 views. That's some good stuff right there.
  6. Atlanta Hawks fans everywhere were enraged Sunday when news trickled out that the Hawks had successfully resigned Joe Johnson, a four-time all-star, to a 6 year max contract. The Hawks, who are over the salary cap, could not have signed any noteworthy free agents to fill the void that would have been left by Joe Johnson. When asked about this, a Hawks fan replied, "Yeah, I'm not stupid. I know we couldn't have signed any other big-name free agents like Carlos Boozer. But I still just can't escape the feeling that this money could have been better spent by the owners. You see, if they had not spent the money on Joe, they could have re-finished their mansions. Perhaps they could have each bought a new yacht. A fleet of new yachts could really help this team come playoff time. I just think it was a frustrating move by the ownership group to spend max money on an all-star player in his prime, when the potential benefit of spending the money elsewhere is so much more appealing to us as fans." Time will tell as to whether this move will pay off or not for the Hawks franchise. In the meantime, the Atlanta faithful are left shaking their heads at what could have been, if only the owners had instead chosen to support a slightly more extravagant lifestyle.
  7. At the very least, I don't expect to hear Drew yell, "Put da ball in da air, Joe. SHOOT IT!" ...Like we used to hear Woody yell. That's some high level coach s*** right there.
  8. I'm relieved we keep Joe and am excited to see what he can do under a new coach. 6 years at the age of 29 isn't that bad for a player like Joe, because he doesn't rely on his athleticism to be effective. Those type of guys can play at a high level through their mid-30s.
  9. Crawford has really quick hands on defense. I watched 2-3 Xavier games, and this stood out more to me than his scoring ability even.
  10. http://www.realgm.com/src_feature_pieces/864/20100211/trade_deadline_fantasia/ I don't like this trade at all, especially considering we could lose JJ in the offseason. We'd be left with a front-court that would benefit from a grind-it-out, half-court style of play, and a backcourt that is one of the worst in the league at defending (Bibby + Crawford). I don't see that combination working well together. Does anyone here actually think this would benefit the Hawks?
  11. One thing I noticed about that DA youtube video is that he doesn't keep the ball high when he's down low.
  12. You mean someone like Jamal Magloire? He's a huge step up from Solo. :no-no:
  13. The broadcast just started, and the atdhe link is working. Anyone know how to make it full screen? edit: double click on the video.
