  1. We usually stop playing basketball... in other word, we suffer from temporary amnesia... we forget what got us the lead in first place! It's combo of careless ball-handling, lack of movement, execution, no intensity on D, ISO JJ/Craw... Plus, LD needs to identify and avoid these situations by deploying best line-up on the court in order to close out games when we have opportunity! Instead, we have to double our efforts in so many games because we simply have to win them all over again!
  2. We're unpredictable... :questions:
  3. ... I mean, we already have a good team, even though we don't have typical 1 through 5 lineup. There's so much potential out there, we just had a hard time playing up to that level... and certainly it's been a frustrating experience for us, watching all this... Bibby was great for this team, especially when he first arrived... but as he got older and his skills diminished... he became liability in terms of his D and his inability to push this team to play most suitable up-tempo! Bibby was the leader, one who relaxed our young players, showed them how to enjoy the game and get more confident... now... it's all about business and that's where Kirk can certainly help by showin' up every night, playing hard, defending, and pushing the tempo! We don't need a leader necessarily... our core guys are in the NBA for several years, they are well tested veterans who just need to assume more responsible roles and stay focused mentally... results will come! P.S. This is the reason why I like the fact that we didn't make wholesale changes. It would not be wise to blow something up without getting the best out of it.
  4. When the dust settles down, I think we'll all see that Kirk will turn out the best choice for Hawks at this particular stage... We all know flaws of our team and in my mind Hinrich will address some of the key issues we've been having trouble with... such as D, mental aspect of the game, toughness, professionalism... and we'll finally have PG who'll be able to push this team with purpose!
  5. Hawksquawk by committee shoud run this franchize! :friends1:
  6. ... if Denver deals with NJ they will be left without true SF and that's our chance if we want either of mentioned PG's. That deal would basically have to include Marvin... If they deal with NY, they will most probably get Gallinari and Chandler, which means that they wouldn't want anything to do with Marvin and our offer would have to be Crawford (exp.) + filler...
  7. Well... I don't see Bill, Wilt, Hakeem, or young Shaq around... Like someone else mentioned here, you don't easily find players like Horford in this day and age... I truly believe that he's our franchise player (until we get Dwight) for so many reasons...
  8. I like this trade... it's one of those that solves both PG and C spots for us... plus Curry is definitely a special talent. Unfortunately, we'd have to give up Smoove... In this case it's calculated and reasonable trade, 'cause you have to give value in order to get more-less the same in return...
  9. Sure... Deron would work wonders for us... I just don't know if he shares same sentiments towards us...
  10. True... Trading Marvin only makes sense if trade brings 1 or 5 to ATL and if Smoove will serve as default 3 and we'll try to retain Jamal.
  11. I'm unhappy with the way both Woody and Drew handle rotations and use the bench. We can always say that we have thin bench, but we have some good players there who weren't given true chance, or they were used in wrong fashion... If you want to win in this league and keep playing at a high level, you need to develop your bench and rotation... and that is the job of our coach! Especially if we all understand that Hawks are at their best playing up-tempo, end to end total basketball to truly realize potential and athleticism of this group...
  12. Name of external link A short, but very honest interview with Al. We don't even have to read between the lines to understand the message... Drew's an upgrade over Woody... Bibbster is done... Teague is not even close... We're not championship caliber team... ... no secrets, just confirmations of what we all know... I guess We, "The Hawksquawk", should run this team!
  13. It surely makes sense! However, it would be all up to Denver and assessment of their PG situation (Ty/Harris)... Also, hand-full of other teams would go after Harris. Blazers are one team that openly show interest in him...
  14. If Harris goes to Denver, NJ will keep Billups until the end of the season at least...
  15. Steph is great and I'd love to have him on our team, Biedrins is decent... but without Horford Hawks would get massacred night in and night out... Al is No-No... In my opinion, the last player I would trade...
  16. ... I've always been the fan of our continuity, building from within, sticking with our core... For one, it's more fun than buyin' LeBronz! However... if we want to move forward, we must question our strategy and previously made decisions along the way and try to find ways to turn this team into true championship contender... regardless of our ownership, realistically speaking. That's what we all want! There's probably only one way of doing this... which inevitably carries some difficult decisions... Most of us are (more-less) emotionally tied to this current group of players (at least I am...), but in order to move forward our "CORE" must shrink to 2 names basically... Al and JJ! I know that I'll cause different reactions by stating this, but in my opinion it's the only way to get things done. We must actively pursuit adequate upgrades at C and PG even if it cost us Smoove... (Jordan/Kaman & B-Diddy, Dre & Pryzz, Nene & Billups, Steph & Biedrins...). I still have tough time persuading myself into trading Josh (and other pieces), but like I've said tough decisions must be made. I just threw few names out there, because in the end the final call would naturally be up to our management and ownership... I just want to express my opinion and hear what do you think... is this the strategy we should follow in order to get the best results...
  17. Al and Bogut sounds scary! Great size, BB IQ... they could play well off each other...
  18. Sure... as I've said, it's worth a shot because it's unique opportunity for us... as for the Clips, well, they could be tempted by the prospect of Smoove and Griffin on the wings (that sells tickets in La-La), plus we could throw in Teague to sweeten the deal. You're right, many teams will go after Jordan... he'll be, at least, very serviceable center for next 5-7 years. He can rebound, play D, block shots... and he doesn't need the ball to be effective. That's why the Knicks would love to pair him with Amare.
  19. It's worth a shot in my opinion. It just takes care of so many things that we constantly discuss... We keep our athleticism, rebounding, shot-blocking... plus, Jordan could play extremely well off of our guards and coming from the weak-side... unlike Smoove who frequently wonders out on the perimeter... B-Diddy is still good and he would get energized knowing that he's back with true contenders...
  20. Hawks send Smoove (perhaps another player to make it work) for Clippers' Jordan and Davis This is nothing against Smoove... just an idea that could potentially solve our most important issues... We get a true center with tons of upside, an upgrade at point and allow Horford to play his natural position... we also successfully tackle our size issue... B-Diddy / Bibby / Teague JJ / Crawford Marvin / Wilkins / Evans Al / Powell Jordan / Zaza / Collins How 'bout that?
  21. That's a good one! :go ahead:
  22. Hard to put these PG's into the same equation... 1. Brooks is the youngest and could fit well with the make-up of our team... Long-term solution. 2. Dre would certainly present an upgrade over Bibby or Teague, but I see him only as a quick fix and a temporary solution. Strong sides: leadership and playmaking ability.Weaknesses: he's on decline and he's also a poor outside shooter. 3. Nash is the only one out of the mentioned three that could have decisive impact and perhaps give us a shot at a ring... However, he too falls under category of temporary solution, since I don't see him playing at this level for much longer... Still.. if the deal is right, Hawks should get him.
  23. ... we're getting close on all fronts... let's just hope we can make that final step forward and bring some silverware to ATL!
  24. Don't get me wrong... I don't mind free market... and I've done the same things as you. Sure, everybody has the right to do what's the best for them ... but my friend, we're not talking about starving people in Africa and unfortunately we don't receive pay checks these guys do... What I'm tryin' to say is that as long there's a fair deal in place (sounds like old US of A) it's fine by me... but as I said Knicks will get Melo for nothing, that's why they're not interested in a trade... they know he's coming one way or the other. P.S. I agree with you that we'd have an upper hand on Knicks... even with Melo...
