  1. I've read on ESPN and Hoopshype that Marvin is unhappy with his involvment on the offense and supposedly wants out (9.6 ppg lowest since his rookie year), Plus we got Hinrich exp. contract that we must deal with because we have some PG depth (Teague, Pargo). Sund obviously wanted to raise Kirk's price, but that backfired so far 'cause Kirk has been pretty bad since comming from DL, Lack of inside presence, size, rebounding, post play... Above-mentioned players... Marvin and Kirk, plus another player, or a future draft pick could get us WHAT? I hear that the Lakers were looking for a SF, particularly Beasley, maybe they would consider Marvin (still young with upside), Kirk (for their PG depth) and another piece for Gasol, who could help us inside, improve our BB IQ and play in the post and he's signed for two more years...
  2. Radman is another option at the 3... Him and T-Mac should split the minutes tonite...
  3. I'd love to see JJ realize that his biggest move for this franchise should be to cut the money Hawks owe him in half! Set this franchise free! That would make him a man! P.S. I'm not kidding!
  4. Very intriguing... As already mentioned, Pau would add better post offense and BB IQ, plus he's a 7-footer. We would lose some of our athleticism, but that's the way it goes... Pau and Al would form the best front court tandem in the East! The only question mark is how much Pau has left in the tank... He's been playing deep into the Playoffs each season, plus for his National team... P.S. I love Smoove and I'd hate to lose him, but he's got just one more year on his contract (unlike Al who is signed long-term) and Hawks should at least entertain certain scenarios that could make the ball club better...
  5. I'd love that one my friend, but Marvin and Hinrich is not enough for Pekovic alone IMO. I've seen Pekovic on so many occasions, he was the most dominant big in Europe for a couple of years... He's very strong with great post game, good hands and decent touch from 10-15 ft + good PnR and D. For example, he was way much better than Gortat or Splitter in Europe. I was wondering why Adelman wasn't giving him a chance... It took some injuries on T-Wolves to make things happen for Pekovic, but right now he ain't gonna ride that bench no more. In this day and age true centers are rare comodity... Back to the trade... Yes, it would give us true center, a forward who could replace outgoing Marvin and another talented PG... overall shapping this team very well and adding extra depth. P.S. The only way T-Wolves trade Pekovic is because they already have their star player who plays well in the post, so they might be looking for a different type of center to complement Love (maybe that's why Adelman played Darko in front of Pekovic).
  6. If that's correct, it's way too much... anyway, we should stay on alert because there aren't many bigs out there that could truly help us at this point...
  7. Given the right situation (contender), I believe that motivated Kaman can still produce above average numbers, plus so much needed low-post game... only if the price is right!
  8. Kaman still has something left in his tank... I wouldn't mind getting him, especially under our current set of circumstances. NO will probably be a tough bargain... I would start with Kirk... and then offer Collins and 2nd round draft pick (they said they would like to receive another big in return)...
  9. We collectively act as an neurotic woman experiencing menopause...
  10. I also think JT lacks some confidence in that department... However, the thing that kind of surprises me is that JT is pretty much a set shooter. Given his obvious athletic abilities, one would think that he could and should develop more fluid jump-shot and abandon that robotic set shot...
  11. It's still early, but if we can get better in the process we should explore those avenues... P.S. We're 11:4 with two blown games we should have won, so in reality we should have 13:2 record... It was so unfortunate to lose Horf and not be able to play out this season as a true contender... Damn!
  12. Just watch our penultimate possession... Smoove stops the dribble... looks left for JJ, he's covered... looks right for JT, he's covered... there's only Ivan left standing alone at the top of the key... Smoove hesitates, looks twice, and then finally passes the ball to him sayin': "What the heck"! Happy End a-la Hawks!
  13. Sund should definitely try to do this... As I've previously stated, I'd offer Horford and a filler for Dwight. Some people would say that's not enough for D12, but remember that it would be rental for the rest of the season, and Magic would get 2-time All-Star and reliable big man in return (signed long-term). Lakers can offer Pau or Bynum, but Gasol is past his prime and Bynum is injury prone... Horf would be a safer bet. P.S. The key (in my oppinion) is getting Dwight's consent and then do everything to make it work!
  14. Another thing worth mentioning is the fact that by not re-signing Crawford, we have increased our capability of playing motion offense and avoiding ISO's, ball-hogging... P.S. I loved Crawford and his flare, unique offensive skills, but he was suppressing obvious talent that we have on our team...
  15. Anytime we come out with clear heads and team effort, unselfish and focused we're doin' just fine! Sure it was motion offense... but in order to make it work, our boys had to move exceptionally well without the ball, fill passing lanes, create good targets, and hit open shots...
  16. ... but seriously, in my mind old unis and logo (from the 80') represent true Hawks identity... maybe I'm also a bit nostalgic...
  17. Welcome to the board! I guess that we're pretty much unanimous on this... Few years back I suggested the same thing, because I became Hawks fan during mid 80' and I still have a hard time adjusting to all kinds of uniforms we experimented with during all these years... They all lacked Hawks ID, simple as that! P.S. In my opinion, some illiterate person called it "Pacman logo-type", although it has no similarities at all (the only one being round in shape)... I think it's very good design, simple and solid.
  18. Horford alone (signed long-term) is enough for one-year rental...
  19. As I've said before... we should get Dwight's consent first and then hardball Magic! I think that Magic are in desperate mode, as they already know that they're losing D12 no matter what... Al Horford is the most marketable piece that we got (long -term contract, appeal...), plus he would do well down there in FLA... We should center our offer around Horf and fillers (whether its Marv/draft picks...), without losing JJ or Smoove... That's still better than the next best thing that the Lakers can thow at Magic (Gasol who is already past his prime or injury riddled Bynum)! I'm all for it! Just get down with D12 and make it happen'!!!
  20. Why not! Teague is very athletic and strong for his position, plus he's got decent tools to work with and improve... but as you suggested, he'll have to be aggressive and gain necessary confidence (so important for PG's).
  21. Try www.fileserve.com or www.filesonic.com
  22. Has everyone forgotten that Magic will lose Dwight anyway! We should first get Dwight's consent and then hard-ball Magic... Horf or Smoove plus filler (draft pick/Marvin).
  23. One way or the other, we all know this team has got the potential to achieve something special! These guys just have to realize that they're the ones who are supposed to make that final step and not look elsewhere for answers... that's why this project (to call it that way) has been frustrating to watch at times (to say the least)... I'm sure that ASG and Sund (no matter what we think of them) know this for a long time and that explains their hesitance to break up the core of this team (unless it really makes us better). It's mental thing more than anything else... and hopefully, this year we'll be able to make that illusive final step...
