  1. I'd be very interested in bringing Chandler to ATL.He's a good athlete, has size, plays D, he can score too...P.S. I don't think Denver would want Petro in that deal, as they already have enough centers.
  2. One Bourbon, one Scotch, one Beer...
  3. AHAHHAAAAHHHHHAAAAAHHHHHHAAAAAA!!!!!!OK, maybe I've had one glass too many, but still... Bass isn't even an average NBA player on sub .500 team in the NBA! :PMr. Bartender!?
  4. There's no way we can get Aldridge without giving up either Smoove or Al...
  5. Thanks for posting this...No love for us as usual... but we wouldn't want it any other way!Anyway, I believe our GM has the plan for the future and, unlike many other organizations, he's making sure we're ready to make those crucial steps to finally get us over the hump...
  6. I'm all for Ferry-tale,seriously!Man has been doin' all the right things and I'm sure he'll do his best to get us one-two punch during next year's FA.He has got all the pieces in place so far... we need to be just a little bit patient, enjoy Hawks basketball (we should be fun to watch this year) and see what happens...
  7. SOFO is very talented and skilled player, who is very difficult to stop down low... It's unbelievable that he moves so well with that weight! However, as article states he already signed for Panathinaikos (Greek club) and I'm sure he isn't going to come to the NBA any time soon.P.S. I'd like to have him on our team (having seen him on so many occasions). He would be very useful in a back-up role, but he wouldn't last the NBA season... that's what everybody knows, including himself!
  8. Devin can play, there's no doubt about that! With 30 mpg, I think that he could average close to 15 ppg and 6 apg.I really like our back-court, it's offensive potential, compatibility with Al and Smoove, depth... My only concern is it's defensive ability and match-ups on the defensive end (size).
  9. I was browsing through several basketball sites (Hoopshype, Hoopsworld...) and I learned that he might be in pretty good shape (considering history of his injury troubles). If we don't get D12 and if we opt for strategy to wait for next years free agency to land one or two big stars, JO could be a decent stop-gap solution...He could give us up to 20 mpg, add some size, low-post game, decent interior D, and some experience...What do you think?
  10. Anyway, I wish the kid nothing but the best... I always thought he had potential, all the right tools and size to be 20 & 7 player. P.S. IMO, the thing with Marvin was always lack of aggressiveness, confidence, cockiness if you will, which is so important in any sport.
  11. Danny is obviously working on plan A, which is D12... If he's not able to swing that one, we'll probably have one or two little tweaks to round out our roster and that's it.P.S. Replacing Marvin isn't going to be easy, although many of posters will laugh at this... Marvin had his role on our team and he accepted it (play good D, rebound, run the floor and hit few J's), plus he had great size for his position (he could easily switch on 2 and 4 on D).
  12. Collins was brought for one reason and one reason only!Big body banger, hard fouls... Especially against D12!

    Hawks Offense?

I'm just encouraged by a fact that the make-up of our team, our roster, is constituted to play more up-tempo basketball...Smoove and Al will benefit from that for sure!We also have several guys that can break opponents' defenses off the dribble and create easy baskets... plus we have arsenal of capable shooters to complement that.Overall, if all pieces fall into place, I think our offense will do just fine.P.S. My only concern is our D, because we lost two above-average defenders in JJ and Marv, plus we'll obviously lack some size.
  14. If we get Dwight, I wouldn't mind getting Rashard Lewis to play SF. He would add size, hit J's and occasionally slide to 4.
  15. I honestly believe that Harris will be great for us... I always thought that he was excellent PG, especially on P'n'R and within the right system that plays fast tempo offense.
  16. It's not a conspiracy theory to say that the NBA favors certain so-called big market teams, as we have witnessed so often...IMO, the only other offer that can rival ours is the one Lakers can present to the Magic.Nets could go after Dwight with Lopez, Humphries, Brooks, draft picks and hope they don't exceed hard cap... I'm sure that Ruskie billionaire doesn't mind payin lux. tax at all...
  17. F***'em!They know nothing about sports, plus that's just a show, yellow stuff...P.S. D12 may end up with Nets, Mavs or Lakers for that matter, but we must try to get him... it simply makes most sense for all parties involved... Happy ending!
  18. I'd love to have Batum on our team! He's very versatile, team oriented player with great skills... Ferry type player!

    JJ Trade Effect...

I agree with you to a certain extent, but we must not dispute JJ's impact on both ends of the floor, his value to the team and his consistency...If JJ was signed to a 12 mil. per year contract we wouldn't be talking about him in this manner. That contract alone has put our franchise in a hostage situation!

    JJ Trade Effect...

I share the same opinion, especially if you read between the lines...Smoove has clearly been the one who's been embracing the role of a leader and didn't shy away from it (unlike JJ). Perhaps our new GM wants to mold the new core with players that have more character (for better or worse in Smoove's case).Obviously we won't be able to replace JJ, but at the same time we would get rid of his contract, gain financial flexibility to re-sign Smoove and hopefully go after D12...I understand that my proposed scenario is a long shot, as it would take another trade to pull it off... However, I don't see anyone else being able to assemble better package to woo Magic into trading D12 (maybe Lakers with Bynum). Main thing is Dwight's consent and his willingness to S&T.
  21. Let's say there's really something credible behind these rumors of JJ to Nets... and let's say we get Lopez in return...That would surely put us in a position to assemble the best possible package for Dwight Howard. We could offer Lopez and one of Smoove / Al for S&T Dwight.I'm sure that Magic would be all-over this proposal, because they're already fed up with the whole Dwight Saga and want to turn the new page (this would give them new and young front court). That would leave us with:PG Teague / FASG Jenkins / FASF Marvin / FAPF Smoove / Al / RookC Dwight / ZazaDoesn't look bad, as we could eventually be able to finally lure some stars to ATL, possibly create our own big three...
  22. I guess that our new GM will have to try to lure D12 back to ATL (providing he signs ext...) and the package you proposed doesn't look bad from ORL's angle.Once FA season starts and trade winds start to whirl, D12 will be in the middle of it all... sooner or later that's gonna spell disaster for Magic and they'll have to make a deal and stop this nonsense once and for all!
