  1. Now every time I've returned it the CSR has told me that my warranty clock is now extended for another 2 years. I still get the free game and the gold membership to. I don't know, but if I were you I'd call and see. When did you buy? Was it with in the first production cycle? That my be the difference. I bought mine 2 months after they started shipping.
  2. Xbox 360 Warranty Coverage Expanded REDMOND, Wash. — July 5, 2007 —Microsoft Corp. today announced that it will expand its global Xbox 360™ warranty coverage. Any Xbox 360 customer who experiences a general hardware failure indicated by three flashing red lights will now be covered by a three year warranty from date of purchase. All other existing Xbox 360 warranty policies remain in place. As a result of what Microsoft views as an unacceptable number of repairs to Xbox 360 consoles, the company conducted extensive investigations into potential sources of general hardware failures. Having identified a number of factors which can cause general hardware failures indicated by three red flashing lights on the console, Microsoft has made improvements to the console and is enhancing its Xbox 360 warranty policy for existing and new customers. Microsoft stands behind its products and is taking responsibility to repair or replace any Xbox 360 console that experiences the “three flashing red lights” error message within three years from time of purchase free of charge, including shipping costs. Microsoft will take a $1.05 billion to $1.15 billion pre-tax charge to earnings for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 for anticipated costs under its current and enhanced Xbox 360 policies. "The majority of Xbox 360 owners are having a great experience with their console and have from day one. But, this problem has caused frustration for some of our customers and for that, we sincerely apologize," said Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft’s Entertainment & Devices Division. "We value our community tremendously and look at this as an investment in our customer base. We look forward to great things to come." For any customer who has previously paid for repair expenses related to the three flashing lights error message on the Xbox 360 console, Microsoft will retroactively reimburse them. At 2:30 p.m. PDT today, Microsoft will hold a teleconference for financial analysts and investors with Robbie Bach, president of Entertainment and Devices, Chris Liddell, senior vice president and chief financial officer, and Frank Brod, corporate vice president and chief accounting officer to discuss today’s announcement. The call will be available for playback beginning approximately one hour after the conclusion of the call through 5 p.m. PDT on Thursday, July 12. To access the playback, U.S. residents can dial +1-866-363-4143, and those outside the United States can dial +1-203-369-0210. An audio webcast of the conference call will also be made available at the Investor Relations site at http://www.microsoft.com/msft. Xbox 360 customers with questions should visit www.xbox.com. About Microsoft Founded in 1975, Microsoft (NASDAQ “MSFT”) is the worldwide leader in software, services and solutions that help people and businesses realize their full potential.
  3. I've gone thru 2 myself. But, Gates keeps sending me replacements and a game to go along with it so who cares. I can take 2 weeks of not gaming with an almost lifetime warranty. Hell, I've told my friends to just send their older 360's back just to get the fresh count on the 2 year warranty.
  4. No spin, but its easy to spend some other guys money. Plain and simple. If they think 9 million is fair then I say stick to your guns. But, my caveat is this.....if you realize he absolutely won't budge go do something about it. Take a chance on Aldridge or go get somebody like Iverson for a year. Make something happen before, like in the Chillz negotiations, somebody else makes something happen and your left holding the bag.
  5. I think you greatly exaggerate the distance between the two. Let's not look at career numbers. Let's just look at what happened last season in some key areas Chillz played 76 games to Evans 75. Chillz played 30 mins to Evans 23 Chillz made 327of 573 shots to Evans 262 of 545 Chillz made 22 of 60 3PTs to Evans 81 of 209 Chillz had 2.3 Off Reb. a game to Evans 1.2 Chillz had 2.6 Def Reb. a game to Evans 1.7 Chillz had 4.9 rebs a game to Evans 2.9 steals .93 to .61 blks .57 to .13 TO's 1.29 to .53 Asst 1.5 to 1.1 and the all important PPG 11.8 to 8.9 Yeah, Chillz was marginally better than Evans, but as I stated Evans is in very close proximity of most of his numbers for last year with less minutes and less face it a more talented team.
  6. To me you are making the wrong argument. Who cares who's the better player? The question is in relative terms can Evans approximate Chillz production in his given role. I say yes he can. I also feel using Chillz on words that he wasn't happy being a sixth man. Evans will happily take that role and relish in it. Add in the savings on salary and the skills he brings that chillz didn't possess, and I think Evans is a good alternative to Chillz. That's all that matters.
  7. actually that's exactly what he's basing his thoughts off of. Hollinger bases all his musings off PER. When he says Evans isn't near the player Chillz is its either the rebounding rate or the PER. Beyond that that statement holds no merit.
  8. I think this under scores what the "don't overpay" camp has been saying. Smoove is a nice piece, but don't pay him like he's the piece.
  9. I think its just what happens with guys like Hollinger or other scribes out of state who just look at numbers. His numbers were good for a 6th man. But they didn't see the total worth as we as fans can. Played out in wins and losses I think not having chillz will cost us exactly zero games we'd have won with him.
  10. well James Forrest never played in the NBA, but I went to school with him.
  11. I've seen Jalen Rose riding in his 'vert down peachtree at the old First Union building. I used to see John Battle, Doc Rivers, Dion Glover, and many other NBA players at the 10 Street Jock's and Jill's.
  12. I think 75 points in any game this year will be a massive FAIL on Woody's part. If we resign smoove he will have no excuses this year. PG? check Scoring? check Defensive stoppers(West, Evans)? check Big bodies(Pachulia, Horford, Morris)? check. Go win. Stop giving excuses.
  13. I won't him signed, but at a reasonable price that allows us to keep other guys as their deals come up.

    Oh. My. Word.

that was horrible, somebody has NOOOOOOO FLOOOOOOOOOOW haha
  15. boy, if this isn't the main reason you don't listen to fans. BK was Satan for 3 years. Now he's the golden child that people pine for. wow. the fickle fan strikes again.
  16. good post. I put the pecking order of the hawks starters as follows. JJ Horford Smith Bibby Marvin
  17. I voted Joe because of what he does for this team with: 1) a clearly lesser complimentary scorer 2) a clearly worse offensive system 3) a clearly worse coach
  18. I totally agree. And its not like this doesn't happen in the NBA. Teams reach agreements and then hold off on actually signing the deals to make room or take care of other business. I really wonder how much "real world" experience some of you have had to not understand that business is rarely straight from mouth to paper.
  19. basketball wise I think we gained two guys that can effectively replace Chillz. Morris and Evans together can equal or better his production. It also eases some of the log jam at the 3 and 2. We will be even more flexible and match up better across the board. Also, Evans brings a certain level of experience Chillz didn't have. He's played on winning teams and seems content to play a role. Considering Chillz own words, he wasn't content with that.
  20. This whole issue should be an eye opener for fans. Notice how Chillz says even his teammates saw him as the utility guy. So if the Hawks paid him first and over priced, it would make all future negotiations with our starters even harder. Baron Davis was told to wait to sign his deal. It's done all the time to clear cap space and make the numbers work. Chillz was a big baby.
  21. to me he is. I know the Hawks aren't the basketball patriots, but that's their motto. Brady is pretty much the only untouchable. Same with the Colts. JJ is who they've made the man on this team. Everybody else can be scrambled around.
  22. well if they knew smith was going to more and they wanted to add pieces......perhaps they wanted him to wait so that they could make necessary roster moves to ease the cap burden......who knows.....but the main issue is he walked away from a good offer for a better one.
