For those that are against Huerter trade, having Bogi and Huerter was a problem.
You need to play them both significant minutes, basically they will be on the court at the same time, good shooting and bad defense and lack of strength and that is a problem. They were redundant and one needed to go so that you don’t need to play both. Holiday basically provides good shooting and better defense and can also play SF.
with one of them gone we can play more balanced combinations
Trae/Murray/ Hunter
A. Holiday/Bogi/J. Holiday
Murray/Bogi/J. Holiday
Young/J. Holiday/Hunter
Young/Bogi/Hunter

Funny I was asking for his signing in the big thread.
Best BU PG left on the market, solid addition
-
Let's take a look to our current rotation
Young/PG2?
Murray/ Huerter or Bogi/
Hunter/ ?/AJ
Collins/JJ
Capela/OO/Landale
In my opinion we need a backup PG, needs to be a PG that does not lack size and defend well although he will play a few minutes, min contract. Aaron Holiday would be my choice, easily the best PG available. DiVicenzo is also intriguing.
Huerter or Bogi, one needs to go, my choice would be Bogi and we need a backup wing that can defend. Bruce Brown, Okogie, Cody Martín, Caleb Martín, Derrick Jones Jr, other guy we could trade Bogi for as Kenrich Williams. We are talking here about a player that is going to play a significant role, 12-18 mpg and might be forced to more with injuries. This is the place where we need to spend money, MLE.
We need a Big that can spread the floor and share the court with Capela or OO if JJ bet goles wrong direction, needs to be capable of playing PF and C. Jalen Smith, Ibaka and Thomas Bryant are the best choices. This Guy might also play a significant role, 10-12 mpg and this role Will increase with injuries, Collins and Capela are significant injury risks.
Young/Holiday
Murray/ Huerter/Tirese
Hunter/ Caleb Martin/AJ
Collins/Jalen Smith/JJ
Capela/OO/Landale
After this Capela for Ayton or whatever we can add for Bogi or Huerter would be welcomed additions.

*gasp*
Ben is a DPOY candidate multiple years and a legit playmaker. Wake me when OO gets on that level.
I think the correct verb is WAS not is.

I think Griffin is coming inside this 8 and Huerter might be the odd man out.

I can see the Hawks making a run at Durant in an all-in mode now, if It works you have a ring. I personnally don't like the move as Durant do not fit Trae and Murray timeline. If Durant is injured, chances are not low, we are out of the playoff race.
I cannot see Hawks giving Collins alone for Simmons, a player that do not fit our roster, is injured, is soft, cannot shoot and is not mentally right to compete, is a suicide.

Apparently he is part of Murray trade

I agree that now having a PF that can shoot well from 3 is key, Young and Murray sharing the ball and dishing to the perimeter, we need good shooters and Collins is a very good one.

I don't see OO and Capela starting together.

We can say we have 2 top 10 PGs.
One top 10 PF in Collins
One top 10 C in Capela.
Two up and coming players in Hunter and OO.
Still need to add Huerter and Griffin, sounds good. -

With this trade, we save 5 which means we are under the LT by two min. But we still gotta sign Griffin and 4 other players which will clearly put us back over the LT. Any Ayton deal is a BYC so we can forget about it.
We may trade Bogi or Collins for cap space and then make the Ayton trade right?

Add Donte Divicenzo to the list

I’m actually feeling a little giddy lol
You cannot have Bogi and Cooper backing up Trae and Murray, you need to go bigger and stronger.
-
Bogi should be next to go. With Murray he is expendable.
I am not fully sold on the duo, we are really the smallest backcourt on the league, Murray is really skinny. When you have some weaknesses on your lineup and this duo has obvious ones you have to chose very carefully the bench players you select, need to be players that can fill your weaknesses. I think we still need someone like Delon Wright and someone like Bruce Brown, defensive presence with size for PG and SG. I don’t know how we can sign them but would be ideal fits. We need to clear cap space for them.
Is key to see how the next moves go. They need to think twice how to build he team

If you think for a moment I think the Knicks can put a better offer because they are a worse team, as simple as that, pick order matters.
-
Players I think would be nice additions, Delon Wright, Gary Harris, Bruce Brown, Oladipo, Monk, Josh Jackson, Wesley Matthews, Hamidou Diallo, Kyle Anderson, Otto Porter, Danuel House, Joe Ingles, Mcgee, Whiteside, Drummond, Hartenstein, Dedmon, Prince, Jalen Smith and Boucher.
if you ask me I would like to sign Delon Wright, Bruce Brown, House and Whiteside. I would be happy with Monk, Gary Harris, Matthews, Jalen Smith or Boucher if Collins is traded.

This is a terrible trade for Atlanta, Bouknight and a 1st? I prefer to keep JC

Put me in that boat, you can't trade JC to trade JC so I am not rush to move him but that doesn't mean I am not disappointed in him.
SF is our weakest position. We are decent at SG but is that good enough is ultimately the question. SF is a lot of teams weakest position because big wings are really f***ing hard to find. Most teams don't even bother because it's too hard whereas some teams collect them and develop them like Toronto and Boston.
We tried to trade Gallo but they want too damn much for him. He's likely to be cut.
I don't believe they want to trade Kevin and no one is interested in Bogi unless they get an asset. His value is a lot worse than I heard it was months back.
FA will look like resigning the Gleague guys and one vet to play the Solo Hill locker room role.
I agree, SG and SF are weak positions for us, you are right but I still have a lot of faith in Hunter, I think he would flourish with a decent defender at SG, even Delon Wright but also a guy like Gary Harris.
-
I think everyone is following the social rumbling but we are in no hurry to trade JC, he provides good value and is our best PF.
Our weakest position is SG and we need to trade Huerter or Bogi for a SG that can defend. We need to trade Gallo as well to make room for OO and JJ.
FA signings and trades should be focused on sending Bogi or Huerter and Gallo out. FA signings should be focused on combo guards and wing defense, and there are players out there that can fill that role.

I think he could play some SG, although might be more of a SF. He has some ball-handling and playmaking on him, his shooting is good and he tries on defense although he is not performing yet. I think he has all the tools to be a rotation guy this year, he is a quality wing. With his strength I think he might be able to defend SG, as Joe Johnson did, I think he could be a good compliment to Hunter.
Poor man Jimmy Butler or Desmond Bane might be good comparisons.
-
We could have picked Kendall Brown or Minnott at 44, I don't understand the trade
-
Spurs players that could be valuable if are included on the deal for Murray
Josh Richardson, better fit at SG for Bogi or Huerter
Lonnie Walker, Langford as a rotation wing
Zach Collins as rotation big
-
I would also give a lot for Murray. I would sacrifice our depth for the chance to join Young, Murray and Ayton

If I had to guess
I would say the most likely trade for the Hawks is 8 for Huerter in some form or fashion.
I am hearing teams are down on Sharpe but Portland is high on him. I don't believe he falls passed 7.
New Orleans wants shooting and scoring and they like Mathurin. Mathurin is getting a lot of love from 4-6 range.
Indy wants Keegan Murray
I think a JC trade could happen but I am not counting on it unless it's a Gobert deal.
The belief is Atlanta has some really good offers for JC but I've heard of none so I will see it when I believe it
I am not expecting Capela to be traded unless it's for Ayton or Gobert.
Kevin is probably the player I think will be traded by Thursday.
I think we might be a week away from when we start seeing serious trades.
Interested to know more about Murray. I think he's a good fit next to Trae
Well, I think that is an scenario I can see, send Huerter out for 8th pick and get Dyson Daniels, that is something I can see happening. Graham is another capable backup PG, however he is not a good defender and is undersized.

I would also have sent Bogi out but you got a rotation wing and a first for Huerter, you would not get that from Bogi.
Today Bogi if healthy is better player than Huerter and now with Murray he doesn’t need to play so much minutes and can have more rest.
We could not keep both, that was a problem.
AND (a big and for me) we got AJ Griffin and I also think he is going to play minutes as the season progresses, he is a creator, a good shooter, he is strong and has more potential to be a good defender. We need to find minutes for him.
