  1. I would say that one player we need to control is Sam Hauser and his 3 pt shooting, yeah weird and stupid but look at the data

1st game vs Hawks: 5 3pt shots converted on 6 attempts

2nd game vs Hawks: 4 3pt shots converted on 5 attempts

3rd game vs Hawks.: 8 3pt shots converted on 14 attempts....

17.7 ppg vs Hawks for a guy that is averaging 8 ppg on this season

  2. Why you want Bey or Bogi on the offense if they are not going to even touch the ball, this will be a forced shot by Trae or DJM. Put defenders if you are going to do that

  3. Sturt, I think there is a difference. JH and Kaminsky were unplayable. Garrison and Bruno have great advanced stats and were positive influence for the Rockets, they can step and play at any moment and they provide solutions. Bruno is a capable defender for some matchups, Matthews can provide defense and 3pt shooting when is needed, JH just could not shoot or defend. I agree they will not play much but they can cover efficiently injuries.

Bey will find minutes as he is a capable scorer for a 2nd unit.

After the rotation is settled I think Bey is going to impact JJ minutes. I think Bruno will hardly leave the bench unless there is an injury and I think Mathews is going to be on the rotation at the expense of AH, AJ and Bogi minutes, we will see

  4. Matthews give us a shooter, cheap shooter capable to replace Bogi

Bey gives you a backup forward, we were empty there, fills a hole.

Bey is a legit backup SF and PF, Matthews is a capable backup SF, AJ is a capable backup SG and SF. Finnally we hace legit rotation wings.

Getting rid of Bogi might be salary dump for finnancial flexibility or part of the package for starting unit upgrade. In that package I think they are considering Bogi, Capela, JC, even JJ but not Hunter.

Bey fills a hole, does not make Hunter expendable.

Going forward I think we are relying on Trae/DJM/AJ/Matthews/Hunter/Bey as the rotation at Pg/SG/SF,  I think Bogi might be the odd man out

  5. We are not getting Ayton.

I think this franchise is taking the easy road, next step is to trade Collins and/or Bogi  to avoid the luxury tax or trade Capela, use the money to sign a worse player, team will slightly improve or stay the same as our young players will be improving and in 5 years we will realize that the best thing we could have done is to keep this young core and sign players that fit them, defense, size and rebounding. Huerter was the first step in that direction, replaced by Holiday… next is John, we are selling him cheap, will be replaced by Crowder….

I think best thing we can do is keep the core and try a real coach or trade for a star like Ayton, KAT or Embiid but I do not see that happening.

I don't think either one of those would be good trades for us.  We've seen KAT as the best player on a team and who wants that?  Brown is a better candidate but I do think he benefits a lot from defenders focusing on Tatum first and leaving him with better opportunities that inflate his numbers relative to what they would look like if he was the #1 option.

In my opinion I think Celtics should give more, something like Brown and a first, Brown and Derrick White…

But DJM/Brown/Hunter/JC/Capela is really intriguing and if we do an Ayton trade

    DJM/Brown/Hunter/JC/Ayton

White/Griffin/Crowder/JJ/OO + Damion Lee and Favors sounds like a contender to me

  7. What I thought, people don’t even want to think on that but at some point we may have better chance to build a contender trading Trae than other players.
Is not that Trae is a bad player but I find very difficult to build a team around him and his hero ball is becoming worse with the time.

As example the 2 suggested trades for Brown and KAT paired with what we have might end on a better team.

  8. I am curious about what people think would be a realistic trade return for Trae Young.

Ther could be trades for Capela, JC, Bogi, Holiday…

But I was wondering what would be the team we could have if we keep DJM, Hunter, AJ, Collins and OO. Trading Capela and Bogi and Trae, what would be the return we could get?

  9. If Ayton is somehow available we should get him, we need a good offensive Center and he has shooting range, good fit for us. If the cost is Bogi or Capela I think is fair, if we can add Damion Lee and Crowder is a good compensation, they are good rotation players, don’t understimate them. The question now is what other pieces we get to fill the lineup. Hunter is a good fit at SF and we need a PF with size, OO could be that guy? I have my reservations, I could see a good fit with Vanderbilt and Beasley for JC

    Trae/DJM/Hunter/Vanderbilt/Ayton

    AH/Beasley/AJ/Crowder/OO

    Damion Lee, JJ and Favors.

2nd unit would be too small

To me, building around Trae is easy.  And we've done it before.

    • 2nd ball handler on the floor that can get his own shot
    • 3 and D player who can make a 3, and put the ball on the floor
    • 4-man who can defend and get his own offense ( or make the 3 )
    • 5-man who can rim protect, roll to the basket, and set solid screens to free Trae for open layups

Agree, we are not that far

    - 2nd ball handler - Dejounte, Bogi, Griffin today, Malik Beasley might be available, I would target him.

    - 3&D player, Deandre Hunter, AJ, we need 2 more at least. Kenrich Williams might be available, Buddy Hield as well.

    - 4 that can defend and make a 3, if Collins is not that guy, Kuzma or Markkanen might be, I would target them, even Christian Wood, cheap options, Jalen Smith, good fit.

    - 5, Capela is a good fit. OO is not and has good value. I would target Bamba or Wiseman or sign a cheap option as Whiteside or Cousins.

I think we are not that far of what we need, pieces don’t fit and I think main responsible is the coach, poor offense is his responsibility. I think no one questions players like Murray, AJ, Hunter or Capela, they are good fit. Bogi, OO and Collins might be more of a questionmark, if new coach (I am convinced we should try that first) cannot make pieces fit, trade them now for better fit pieces.
