No, he's not. I don't know how you watched these three games and came away thinking Bogi is better than Cam or Hunter. Watching Bogi this preseason, its not much different than what I seen in Sacramento other than he hasn't found a sweet spot yet role wise which is why he should come off the bench with Gallo for more touches.

Hunter has taken an obvious leap. He's clearly the 2nd best player on the team if this was last year with the way he's playing and he's been the best this year as Trae hasn't been Trae yet. Cam is not far behind. Bogi for the most part was never this superstar potential all star type. He was always a role player who was polished and brings scoring and offensive versatility as his main weapons.

Hunter, the way he's playing is currently better than the best I've seen from Bogi in the NBA as a player outside of hot streaks if this is consistent and not a hot streak for Hunter.

I think we don't think so different.

I am not ready to jump to conclusions in 3 preseason games and I think is a mistake. Hunter a d Cam were below average wings on the league last year. That is a fact, you can build arguments based on March played games but that does not delete the truth, they were below average on offense and defense. Bogdanovic on the orher side is a slightly above average wing, that is a fact as well.

I do see an improvement on Cam and Hunter, I am not blind, I saw the improvement on Cam last games on the season and I see the improvement on Hunter this preseason... but they need to prove they can bring consistently that offensive and defensive production every night and that is not proven yet. As you are doing I could also take 15 games on a row for Bogi and make a case he is an all-star but I know season is long and you need to take into account full year performance.

I am not hyping Bogi, I think he is slightly above average wing, that is it, and I am right looking at every metric you can find. All of you are hyping Cam and Hunter, 2 players that played poorly most of the year saying they are already better than Bogie. Do I think they can become better than him? Yeah but they need to demonstrate first they are average wings, something they are not yet. And you know what? That is exactly where you would expect a 2nd year player to be. Expecting them to be top 50 players is completely unrealistic.

  2. I don't think is so bad Gray but LP has a team with one star, another player that could be considered a star and a bunch of young and talented players and the team performance was poor.

2 years later we have one of the best rosters on NBA in depth,  a star, a top 5 C on the east, a top 10 PF and a pletora of valuable wings and PGs and people want to see a growing performance by the team and the performance is discouraging till now, same old weaknesses and we are not even showing our strenghs.

I also blame coach for the lack of performance, you need to perform with this roster.

  3. Bogie today is better player than Cam and Hunter, I repeat today. Of course I see better upside on Cam and Hunter. Bogie is a great addition and we have to consider that all seasons he starts slow and improves a lot as the season advances.

Anyway talking about fit I also think Cam is a better fit for Trae due to his defensive presence, he is on his way to be our best defensive wing. For that reason I would let Cam start and Bogie play with 2nd unit but there are enough minutes for all 3 to be around 30mpg, everybody agrees Hunter should start and for me that is a pleasant surprise.

The odd man out in my opinion is Huerter, he has played really bad these 3 games. On a 2nd unit with Rondo, Bogie, Gallo and probably for now Bruno you need to add defense and shooting, that guy might be Snell or Hill, even Dunn, not Huerter.
As the season progresses I want to see a 2nd unit of Dunn, Bogie, Snell, Gallo and Okongwu. It might happen that our 2nd unit is top 10 on the league and our starting unit not even top 20, that might imply a great minute distribution on the roster. Rondo and Hill are good vet influence but Rondo is too lazy on defense for regular season, I think we will be better with Dunn at backup PG.

  4. First, if we would have trade Huerter for 2nd pick it would have been for Wiseman or Edwards.

2nd , we lost yesterday to a team that is clearly worst than us, best players are Morant and Valanciunas, equivalent to Trae and Capela, they have no answer for players like Collins, Bogi, Gallinari, Rondo, Hunter.... but they outscored us. Embarrassing.

You can blame coach on this

It would be fair to say I was projecting a good bit on LeVert and Hunter.  Brooklyn needed someone to take shots last year and LeVert took those shots. That is going to fall off this year.

Last year, Hunter was heavily penalized based on the personnel on the floor with him most of the time.

When you look at LeVert's stats his first 3 years in the league, it doesn't pan out how you're stating. The best thing I can do is compare LeVert's career averages to Hunter's 1 year as his stats from last year are pure brute force and will fall off (except probably shooting %).

     LeVert (career) - 12.7 ppg / 3.7 RPG / 3.6 APG/  1.9 TO  eFG% .491

    Hunter (Rookie) - 12.3 ppg / 4.5 RPG / 1.8 APG / 1.6 TO eFG% .489

I think we can agree Hunter is a better man defender. We are looking at the 4 year stats of a player which are pretty much equal to a rookie's stats. If you want to compare rookie campaigns its not even close. If you want to compare last year, its unfair because LeVert was encouraged to take as many shots as possible. He is a 4 year older player and nearing his peak. Many of Hunter's individual stats are affected by the personnel on the floor the first half of the season and yet the numbers aren't that different (minus 6ppg based on usage). I'm projecting Hunter as better than LeVert this year and only playing the games will prove me wrong here.

No, it is not fair. Levert is only 26 years old, he has been improving every season and his per-36 minutes show much better production than Hunter every season, not only last season. You are comparing production on 26 minutes vs 32 on Hunter. Per 36 minutes last season Levert produced 22ppg vs 13ppg on Hunter, season before was 18ppg.

Sometimes we mix expectations with reality, I understand the expectations and promise on Hunter but today Levert is better, at the end of the season hopefully not.

Come on, some of you play fantasy NBA, there is a reason why Levert gets drafted and Hunter not, lol.

Hunter is a strange case. From what we seen this preseason, he's better. From what we seen last year, lol, Harris by a mile.

It will be fun to see how their players adjust to their new roles on both teams.

I cannot make a judgment for 2 preseason games, make no sense for me. Today Harris is better than Hunter by a mile, we are not talking about expectations. And Levert is at least as good as Bogi.

  7. Before we have a rivalry with top 3 teams we should beat last spots playoff teams. I think our rival could be Orlando, Indiana or Washington. Orlando is a team that reall is a bad fit for us, they are really tough and have good defense. Indiana is another team that will be close with us. Washington with Westbrook and Beal could be ahead of us, they have also good pieces on Bryant, Bertans, Advija, Brown, Hachimura, Wagner... I will chose Orlando as our main rival. I was impressed with Fultz and Gordon, Vucevic is a great player, is going to be tough to beat them

  8. No need to overreact to one game. Bogdanovic should be better this year than Cam and Hunter and should play a good role and carry the load on his shoulders. Is not realistic thinking we can make the playoffs with two sophomores at the wings that struggled badly last year, we need to mix things and I am sure coach knows it. That does not mean they will not have minutes but we need to create an environment where they can succeed. Including Cam and Hunter on a starting lineup with Young, Bogi, Collins and Capela is a good situation where they can produce with not all the pressure on them. A second unit with Rondo, Huerter, Dunn and Gallo is also good company for Hunter or Reddish.

  9. Looking at the full highlights of the game Hunter and Bruno looked bad on defense, I counted like 5 3 pointers scored on Hunter with lazy defense and Bruno looked lost. Good moves of Vucevic on Capela too and Fultz looked good on defense and difficult to stop on offense. Orlando might be a tougher team than expected.
