Milsap is a steadying force for us. Without him, we will be a mess on offense.

Well for whatever reason he has never matched up well with the Cavs. If I had money I would bet the house on the Cavs to win this series. A LeBron injury is honestly their only hope, and LeBron never gets hurt.

I'm taking the glass half full outlook on this.

I would love to fly on the wall in these GM interviews. If I'm Ressler, I want specifics, not generalities about team building, championship culture, blah, blah blah. 

People need car insurance because they do not have the money to pay for damages and/or injuries of another person(s) in the event of a wreck, which is why it is required by law.. But seeing as Dwight is very rich, he does not need insurance, he can just pay out of pocket if anything happens. 

If our society is a covert white supremacist system designed to protect the interests of whites and whites only, then why are Asian students doing so well in school and getting into all the good colleges?

The sooner you realize that you can only control politicians with capital and an agenda, nothing will change and truth is, they won't even let you win if you aren't chosen first and believe it or not, it's not that hard once you are inside but you are dealt a bad hand. That goes for ALL politicians. Black, white, etc. Most have to be backed by a society. Depending on your region to be honest. I won't go into more detail even in PM's so don't ask. Just know it's not sweet and there is no such thing as racial loyalty if you aren't white in politics. Even then, class reigns supreme if you are white. And I mean SUPREME! But I blame poor and middle class whites. They have the power to make a change but... Forget about it. It's not even worth it. It's a system and everyone likes their perks who qualify for them. 

I try to be open minded on issues. But the war on drugs is an unmitigated disaster. During the 1930s prohibition gave rise to Al Capone and the mafia. The same economic forces apply to drugs. Making drugs illegal increases crime, and increases the harm caused by drugs. Legalization allows for harm reduction and the under cutting of the black market. Unfortunately, the police, the courts, the prisons, will fight tooth and nail to protect their cash cow. Prisons would be ghost towns without drug offenders.

It astonishing to me when black leaders do not challenge the status quo. Kasim Reed publicly opposed the decriminalization of marijuana in Atlanta. There are so many needless arrests of young black men on marijuana charges, yet Kasim Reed , who claims to be a progressive, is unwilling to challenge laws that have historically been racist and are not in the spirit of a free civil society. It's unconscionable.

If we lived in a system of justice, those who unfairly earned would give to those who hardly received the MOST. Meaning instead of giving the best schools to the highest tax bracket, we need to give it the lowest tax bracket and give them the tools to be successful. Give their parent the tools to be successful. Give them access to not just quality education but tax free business loans, higher credit for families and remove benefits for women who have children out of wedlock or just unwedded, end massive incarceration which inheritedly targets non-whites, in particular, Black males. The one thing I do like about a sport like Basketball is it looks for the BEST players, fits and personalities regardless of race. No other function in society operates that way, not even the organizations that sign, recruit and train the athletes. This will solve all of the property questions in  nutshell. 

 

In a system of white supremacy, I am suppose to be respectful but suspicious of all. Especially if they have showed collective signs of benefits from a system in which they do not want to end that clear identity is to harm non-whites. 

 

That's where you are wrong. For someone white, that might be the case. That's not the case for Blacks. A lot of the predatory loans targeted Blacks of all income brackets and mainly only targeted whites and hispanics of a less affluent background. Look into DeKalb Co, GA and Prince George's County, MD. Name calling is a sign of defeat. I have not called you, AHF or anyone a bigot, white supremacist or anything like that nor do I even think it. Please reframe from name calling, you come off as weak when you do so and someone who knows they are wrong. If you want to have a honest conversation, please do so respectfully. I know I not the most kind person in regards to the Hawks but I am very kind in terms of more serious conversations. 

I think one of the most important things that society could do is to end the war on drugs. The war on drugs was put into place to arrest black people, and young left leaning whites, and that's no conspiracy theory, Nixon's top adviser even admitted as such in numerous interviews. They wanted to arrest hippies and blacks, because they were mostly democrats. Eventually the war on drugs became official public policy, fed by lies and propaganda.

Baseball is such a different sport. They develop players to be consistent from the minors to the pros. They hedge on the pro team for the minors and the minors for the pros. In Basketball, no one will trade you Trevor Booker for Devin Booker. In Baseball, pros for minor league players, silly shit like that happens. 

Well who do you want the Hawks to hire?

I personally do not want a retread like Dumars or Griffin. Get a young, bright mind. A basketball Theo Epstein.

We weren't picking in the top 5. He drafted Dennis, arguably our best player after Milsap. Word is he wanted Antetokoumpto, so he clearly has a decent eye. And savvy contracts don't matter? Ok keep giving 70,000,000 to the Kent Bazemore's of the worst, a guy Ferry signed for a couple million. You're just rationalization the mess we are in.

Ferry overrated? He traded the massive Joe Johnson contract, found a taker for Marvin. Signed Bazemore and Junk Yard Dog for literally peanuts. And our two best players,  Millsap and Dennis,  both were Ferry acquisitions. Millsap on a bargain contract, and Dennis in the draft. It was one deft move after another. There's is really no debating it.

I'm all for giving people a chance. I'm not for firing competent people due to an overblown faux controversy. Bud could have gone to bat for Danny, instead he just saw it as a power grab. 

Our Diversity and Inclusion Department really let us down this year. As we all know political correctness=winning. Therefore, this organization needs to up the ante on political correctness. We need more diversity, more inclusion, more reprisals for remarks taken out of context, more censoring of off the cuff jokes, harsher punishments for racist, hate mongering bigots like Danny Ferry, who showed by reading a cultural insensitive remark off a scouting report that he has nothing but virulent hatred  in his heart, nothing but an unrepentant racist SOB. Basketball has to be secondary, political correctness must be primary. We need to be more craven in our handing of faux controversies, that is the pathway to competence and success. It is the only way forward.

Dwight gives you rebounding and defense around the basket. His only offense is wide open dunks.  As for Bazemore, he gives you nothing. The guy is a mediocre small forward off the bench, you don't give those guys 70,000,000.

There's a floor generalship that is missing.  Assists are empty if it doesn't serve a purpose and Dennis has a lot of that empty assist going.  We start and we don't establish anything.. don't get any players going.  Don't force the defense to sag... 

UNTIL Dennis learns to do these things, we will always point at the next guy and say.. He doesn't know how to create for himself.   Ladies and gentlemen, there are few players that can create for themselves on this level.  Very few... but teams still win and players are still productive.

 

He needs another guard to take the pressure off of him. 

Howard is tradeable. He is still better than guys like Mozgov. As for Bazemore, no one is paying that money to a mediocre small forward who cant handle the ball, is not a great finisher at the rim, and shot runs hot and cold. 

I guess his rise to stardom was put on hold tonight. Didn't have a great game.

Cautionary tale...OKC soured on James Harden after a tough playoffs where he didn't play well. Judge a player by the entire body of work. My main concern is he is not a good defender. 

I'm fine with him staying a Hawk, but does it have to be for 16-20 million a year?

He does not seem like a great shooter to me. I see him more as as do-it-all glue guy.
