I think the contract was too soon. He needed this year to show he could handle the job. It's not like we got some great bargain or anything.
-
He's like Josh Smith. There will be great games, there will be terrible games. I'm not sure you can win championships with guys like that.

Id sell the farm for Klay. I think he's a stud.

The two Jon's...Barry and Koncak.

Give me a competent broadcaster. I do not need a homer.

Give me JVD or Hubie Brown any day.

I'm sorry but he is terrible as a broadcaster. He literally says the same things over and over. Every time someone on the opposing team misses a shot he says, "that's a bad shot." Just because they missed the shot does not mean it was a bad shot. I know he is a hawk legend, but I wish both him and Rathbun could be replaced.

They should trade him though. There is only one basketball, and you already have Curry and Durant taking so many shots. Klay could be a #1 for at least half the teams in the league. If I was Klay's agent I would request a trade. Someone as talented as him has no business being the third wheel.

I think we should of signed Joe this off season. Utah got him for peanuts, but he can still play.
-
He has an expiring contract that might be beneficial come trade deadline if Bud decides to make a move.

Well I'm glad he played great tonight. But he was really struggling to start the year. Great win against the Cavs! I'll gladly eat crow if he has games like this.

I wish Prince would get some minutes when those guys are struggling at least.
-
We might have the worst starting wings in the NBA.

Bazemore can't buy a basket. I said that was bad contract, everyone retorted with but that's the market blah, blah. If you think 0-7 on zero points is worth 17.5 million a year then I don't know what to tell you. Good players do not struggle this much, not even on a bad night.

I really think we should strongly consider using the amnesty clause on Bazemore before the new CBA is signed. His 20 million a year will really hinder our financial flexibility. And honestly if we just need a guy to play defense and hit a few shots occasionally, Taurean Prince could do that at a fraction of the price. I would rather Prince get those minutes anyways.

Excuse me but your post is garbage at best. How can you be that negative after one bad game?
Its his first starting season. Get your act together.
Everybody knew that Dennis would have bad games. Hes young and has to learn.
And yes tonight his shooting and decisionmaking was way off. But thats it. Lets wait another 20 games to be as harsh as you are.
What exactly is so great about him though? I see a guy that does not have a high BBIQ for a point guard, and is not a natural shooter. The Lakers were daring him to shoot tonight, and when he drove to the basket they were ready to block his shot. If anybody here thinks he is suddenly going to become a Steve Nash/Chris Paul type maestro, prepare to be disappointed.

Dennis does not have the poise or shooting ability to lead us to victories in crunch time. He just doesn't. Making him filthy rich isn't going to change that.
-
Are you guys watching Dennis in this Laker's game? He has been absolute garbage on offense. Can't score, turning the ball over, dumb shots. We are going to regret this monster deal, sorry guys.

We overpaid Baze. I'm sorry but we did. That money could have been better spent elsewhere.

He's definitely a goner after this season. I could definitely see him going after that last big pay day. I'm sure a team like Brooklyn and Philly could give him 10+ mil easily.
Its getting to the point to where every player is getting 8 figure deals. I understand that's the market but its ridiculous.

And on some Houston Rockets message board they are saying, "Dwight Howard only scored 2 points against the sixers lol, he sucks." Please spare us biased opinions of Teague and Horford merely because they left. If Teague had scored 30 points you would have not have created a post about him and you know it.

Dennis was not getting him the ball.
-
My thoughts from tonight:
Good:
-Howard's presence on the glass is/will be huge
-Sap was solid of course
-Bench is deeper and better than at any time in recent memory
-Good effort on defense
Bad:
-Dennis is erratic, and for every good play there's a bad play
-Sap is our only player with a versatile offensive game, everyone else is either a shooter
(Korver, Baze), driver (Dennis), or dunker (Howard), no creators

Agreed...this is a pretty serious gamble in my opinion....and not altogether necessary. If it works out - GREAT!!
I just hope it turns out that way.
I just do not see a guy that is steady enough to be an elite guard. I do not know why Bud thinks his bad habits will magically correct themselves with more money and more responsibility. Most of the time, you are what you are, and that's an aggressive athletic point guard that can really get to the cup, and gives good effort on defense, but turns the ball over a lot, runs hot and cold with his shooting, and has a questionable BBIQ.

Interesting tidbit from the Teague AJC article

I think Teague is better than Dennis. Just My opinion.
