He's much better than Jae was at this stage. He's baby Leonard. I don't know if he's as athletic as Leonard but he got that wide skill-set and his handles aren't great but has potential.
I'm not sure he is the shooter Leonard is. I've seen Prince air ball quite a few shots.

He is always going to be a scoring guard. He is not going to wake up one day and become Steve Nash. But as long as he's reasonable efficient I think it can work if we can get another good guard to pair with him.

What I like about Prince is he does need the ball to have an impact on offense. Those are the kind of guys that help you win.

If I'm Sap, I refuse to resign unless roster upgrades are made. I don't know if that can be done with both Baze and Howard on the roster. I think Howard would be more tradeable after next year because you can usually trade players on the last year of their contract. If Howard had the right mindset it would accept being a role player on the bench, but you can't bench him at his price tag.
I'm going to give Dwight credit and so he is not a complete dummy and so he has to know that he is not the player in ways 8 years ago. He came here to have his ego stroked... We all knew this would happen when he signed with Houston. We knew that one day he would sign here when he was passed his prime and the rest of the league was through with him. Well, that's just what happened. He know his best days are gone, but he wanted to be treated like a star and he thought the hometown Hawks would be his best bet. It's never really been about winning for him. Basketball was a way to make a lot of money to feed his lifestyle. He never had the drive to be great and that is why he never developed anything that didn't require a lot of athleticism.
Can we amnesty Bazemore? We have to clear cap space.
-
Baze is playing for one reason and one reason only, it's because Bud handed him $70,000,000 dollars and he has to try to rationalize his terrible investment. He cant handle the ball, he cant finish at the rim, and even his jump shot runs hot and cold. He's a bench 3 and D you pay a couple million a year at best.

Eh, are you as good at assessing execs as you are at assessing players tho?
Sorry but I'm contractually obligated to take anti-Supers digs. I think the problem is more-so Wilcox than exec-Budz.
It ain't that easy, tho.
And, despite those listed, it's fairly difficult for former players to get exec roles. Ask Nique.
And, furthermore, there's more supposed Theo Epstein, young-ish, allegedly smart execs currently ruining NBA teams right now so there's no magic formula.
Would you hire Nique to be your GM? His only qualification is that he was a great player. That is no way shape or form translates to being a good executive. Give me the youngish, smartest guy in the room if I have to pick one or the other. But the only teams that have really done a consistently good job with their rosters are the Spurs and Warriors. Also Bucks deserve credit for taking YA (GF).
-
Get a basketball Theo Epstein. A genius, outside the box thinker. The NBA is such a good old boys club, its ridiculous . If you're Magic, Jordan, Bird, Isaiah Thomas, etc you get a job as an executive, as if being a great player means you're a great executive.

Well done by Fizdale. Take the fine from league, its completely worth it.

He rebounds, he blocks shots and he dunks. But misses as many bunnies as any player I have ever seen. Hey, he helps your rebounding and defense around the basket, but Hakeem Olajuwon he aint.

I may be a homer but I didn't say a damn word about Baze, comprehension boy. Try Prince and we'll see what happens in the playoffs either way.
OK my bad, I thought you were referencing Bazemore with SF under contract.

Have both a young starting pg for years to come under contract and a young starting sf for years to come under contract with the bonus of having a guy that stakes his reputation on owning the glass with us. Definitely will take it over the other two.
Bazemore is garbage, and Dennis is just ok. You're sound like another homer who overrates our talent. A core of Bazemore, Dennis, and Dwight aint winning squat. We better hope Bud has a master plan here, cause this ain't getting it done.
-
Dennis is talented. But I'm not sure does he has the maturity or the gumption to be great. Be he can be a valuable piece. On a good team he would be best served as a scoring punch off the bench.

It's time to rebuild, I guess.
-
Stop trying to rationalize out mediocre roster and ill advised signings. The fact that this team is above .500 is really a testament to Bud's ability as a coach.
-
Yea man LeBron sucks!!! Even though he can guard all 5 positions, passes better than an all star point guard, can rebound as a good as a power forward, unstoppable driving to the basket, off the charts basketball IQ. But he plays for another team so he sucks!!! Grow up squawkers, you guys sound like a bunch of immature haters. You guys would be great general managers, "I'm not trading for anyone because everyone sucks except the Hawks!" Freaking dumb asses.

How come guys like Lebron never get hurt? I don't think Lebron has had a significant injury his entire career. I mean I guess I'm not surprised. I think steroids are alive and well in the NBA. Lebron and a few others seem to avoid it...Curry also, Curry had significant ankle issues and now they are gone...they didn't miraculously disappear.. what's up?
Even If medications are helping them stay strong and prevent injuries (dubious at best theory),than that's a good thing. The whole stigma about steroids and HGH is completely irrational. Why does anyone care if a medication helps you stay strong? It's not your body, it's his.

There are drugs available that magically make you invulnerable to injury? Wow that's news to me. Where did you get your MD/PHd if I may ask?

I would rather have Horford than freakin' Bazemore. What solvents are you guys inhaling?

I think Ferry would not have signed Bazemore.

We are in trouble. We are stuck with mediocre Baze, dude is 27, he's not 19. We can stop pretending he is going to be a centerpiece. TMJ is going to cost a pretty penny to keep now. Milsap is going to cost us the GDP of a small nation. Dennis and Dwight aren't good enough or consistent enough to carry this team. I see why they were going all out to get Butler or George. That is our only hope of being relevant.
-
Teams never want to make big trades because If you end up being on the losing end of the deal you never live it down.
-
Everyone said we had to pay Bazemore too, that's the market, blah, blah. I'm not opposed to paying THJ, but you can't pay everybody 70 million.

-
Once you pay him, his play will begin to suffer. That's just how these things tend to work.

It's really weird how bad rookies look at first. Do you guys remember Dennis S. in his rookie year? If I didn't know any better, I would have guess he had never played a minute of organized basketball in his life. He looked horrible. Guys like LeBron ready to come in and dominate day one are very rare.

Are you going to demonize Milsap if he moves on?
