You mean the coach made adjustments around his superstar player to win a championship. Keep in mind at that time it was a big mans league and no team had built a championship around a shooting guard. You keep explaining exactly why Trae is our path to a championship. You have to set the trend, master it not follow it. Jordan still led his team in in shots taken and assists. I am by no means saying Trae is Jordan, but we are in a different era and Trae is one of the best in his era. We need to find a way to win a chip with him. I am not saying that Trae can’t make adjustments to his game that can help us win, because he can and should but that is the least of our worries. If we could get others to step up their game and take advantage of what they have in Trae we will get to where we need to be. Bring home Murray and we will be well on our way.

So you are just going ignore the fact that Trae IMPROVED in efficiency this season. Ignore the injuries to Capella and John. Ignore the complancey of everyone after they got paid. Ignore the target the team had on its back by the rest of the league. Ignore the Cam, Heurter, Bogi log jam that caused tension. Ignore Dre’s up down season due to injuries. Ignore our extremely short offseason due to the deep run and the fact this season was starting on time. I get it. Blame it on the guy that stepped up his game to All NBA level.

I think if Atlanta is trying to clear cap space to sign Ayton, they should deal either both Clint and John to Phoenix for Ayton and a expiring or send John to San Antonio for a player and two 1st round draft picks in this years draft. Then deal Clint and some combination of draft picks to Phoenix for Ayton. We could then pick up someone like Portis, Olidipo, or Tucker to round out the squad. Then Landry Fields can hire me as assistant GM. Lol.

Clint is the man. Guy is great. I think we underestimated how important that 14/14/2 was on our championship run was. His injury and the subsequent drop off in production was basically the difference this year.

It seems kind if ridiculous. The general population usually always roots for the little guy. Dunk contests, conerbacks, boxing etc. if there is a little guy holding his own, he usually gets the benefit of the doubt. It is weird how far people are willing to go to to seem him fail.
