Can't really get upset about us not signing him. In a year, we may be very thankful that we didn't Maybe Dalembert is the guy to target now. Not a sexy pickup, but he'd bring us a true center who could play some valuable minutes.

What can't be done is a Millsap for Asik sign and trade. We'd have to sign and trade one of our own free agents.

If we could trade Josh Smith for simply picks, that would mean the team we'd be trading him could simply sign him outright, correct? So he'd be doing us a favor to the detriment of his new team?

I'm not as excited about this signing as others. I was pleased with Korver's shooting abd BBIQ, and I think he fits our system. But he's a career 10 ppg scorer, who is 32 years old and provides very little outside of 3pt shooting. He fits our system, and I especially like the signing if it means Dwight is coming. However, at 6mil per year, he's vastly overpaid. He'll finish the deal as a 37 year old. I would've loved this signing at 4 years 12 million. I was fine letting him walk when he was offered 3 years 20 mil elsewhere. I'm a fan of Kyle Korvers, but I'm not jumping for joy over 6mil per year for his services.

Speaking of SG/SF types, Jon Ingles is drawing interest from some teams. Reports say he's a solid defender, shooter, and a point-forward type. 6'8 austrailian. Maybe we should give him a look. Low risk, potentially solid reward for a role player

I don't think we're going to have a typical "rebuild" year. I also don't think we've gained any new fans on the strength of our cap space. So it shouldn't be a big deal. Last year was more of a rebuilding year than this year will be, because of all the expirings and the essentially lameduck coach. We're likely to bring Teague back (though I wouldn't be opposed to making a push for Jarrett Jack). And we've got the cap space to bring in some solid young pieces that fit the Bud/Ferry vision. I'm not suggesting spending foolishly, but there's definite pieces out there this offseason (one of the stronger free agencies in recent memory). Could force Minnesota to match on Pekovic, I think that'd be a smart move. I like that we're looking at Corey Brewer. I liked our draft. I even think Jenkins can be a contributor.

It's the Smith at SF component that messes it up.Horford and Howard would be a hell of a combo on offense and defense. It's a great pairing.

He knows he's giving up a lot in potential endorsements leaving the LA market. That'll always be the case, whether it be a tv show or something else stemming from the massive los angeles exposure.

I'd rather take on Eric Gordon's contract than go anywhere near Monta Ellis

I really don't like the lineup of Smith/Horford/Howard offensively. It's great defensively and talent wise, but it lacks chemistry and balance. I don't see that ever evolving into a championship roster. I'd hate to have two divas at the expense of Horford, I think I'd rather go another route if that's our option. I think Dwight Howard, if he's actually analyzing this from as basketball perspective, knows Josh's game well enough to see the liabilities the pairing would create. Houston's Harden/Smith/Howard lineup, with Parsons as well, does show very solid balance on the other hand and has championship potential. As much as I like Asik (I know some don't, but I like his game), I don't want to help the Rockets out with that deal. Makes them too good and shows a defeatist mentality on our part.

Just read a tweet stating this. Haven't read anything else on it yet. I've always liked his toughness and offensive rebounding, but he's not much of a rim protector so I wouldn't be upset if he went elsewhere.
