  1. Boston would be moving up for Yi. Memphis would take Horford.
  2. Villanueva should be better than Perkins at this point. He's two years older and had big-time college experience. The point is that Perkins fulfills a need for this team. Charlie V. is redundant and less of a talent when you consider Marvin and Smoove.
  3. You're a joke. The kid is 22. Yet the Dieselputer extrapolates the data and determines that he Quote: showed absolutely no potential to get better. Quote: guys we could pick up for free That's the whole point of the trade I proposed. We get a young big, and we still get the best player in the draft to help this team. Hence, Perkins comes free.
  4. And what, in your infinite wisdom, makes you say so definitively that a 22-year-old 6-10, 270 lb. big who averaged 5 points, 5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 20 minutes a game "sucks"? What does Charlie V. bring that Marvin and Smoove don't?? Marvin's numbers were identical, and he's 2 years younger. Smoove's numbers were far superior. Perkins gives us legit big depth, while at the same time allowing us to draft the one person who best fits the needs of the this team.
  5. When reports come out that Brandan Wright looked great in the Hawks workout, don't bother with any of the "I can't believe we're going to take Wright" or "If Wright is the pick, I'm done with this team!!!" posts. The Hawks will not be drafting Brandan Wright, but it's in their best interests to build him up (plus Horford and Yi, too) to create as much interest as possible in the #3 pick. While I would only consider moving down to #4 or #5, the Grizz or Celtics could be interested if they really fall in love with one of these guys. My preference would be to trade #3 to Boston for #5 and Kendrick Perkins, then draft Conley at #5.
  6. So just that we're clear. You guys don't want a forward?
  7. You and I are usually on the same page, Sturt, but I think this 3-way trade is way off. I don't think there's any way Memphis moves Gasol without getting the No. 3 pick -- even if they're getting a 20/10 guy in ZeBo (who I don't see them wanting anyway). Then when they have to "throw in" their only legit #2 scorer in Miller, it makes it even worse for the Grizz. I think the Hawks and Blazers would be all over the trade. But the Grizzlies would likely respond with a giant "WTF!!" Nice effort, though.
  8. Quote: I dare anyone to find me another GM that has done a better job of picking talent in the draft than Billy Knight. 2000 - Stromile Swift 2001 - Pau Gasol and Shane Battier 2003 - Boris Diaw 2004 - Josh Childress and Josh Smith 2005 - Marvin Williams 2006 - Shelden Williams Are you kidding me?? Look, I'm no BK hater. But that's not to say that more than half of the GMs in the league don't have a better track record when it comes to drafting than BK. I know you like to ride BK's jock, KB, but tell me you don't read that quote and say, "my god, I can't believe I actually posted that." You do realize that you dared people to compare other GM's draft record to BK's, and then proceeded to list 8 BK draftees from 6 years who have combined to make 1 all-star game? BK's draftees have a combined 32 seasons of experience and 1 all-star seasons. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd say that's a pretty piss poor track record. Especially when you consider we're talking about a lot of very high picks.
  9. my god, busboy, you are so eff'ing retarded. If you evaluate Durant?? How about if you watch him play?? How about if you see him destroy some of the top competition in the country. How about if you see him put together one of the most dominating and impressive freshmen seasons in the history of college basketball. You obviously have not a clue about basketball and what it takes to make a great player. How many times do players run the cone drill in game play?? So stupid.
  10. wow.....based on what everyone else is saying, my guess would be that busboy and oiatl are ripping durant for beng soft (funny, coming from wright lovers), but i would have no idea what they're saying because i have the idiots on ignore. Anyway, anyone who forms an opinion on Durant based on a combine over the performance he put on last season as a freshman belongs in the same class as the above mentioned.
  11. Please tell me you're kidding about Kwame. He's garbage and always will be. Not that Childress is an all-star, but he could be very valuable for a playoff team (and I don't think we'd be able to get good value for him). But regardless, Kwame Brown is a POS.
  12. Atlas ARR is Hotlanta, aka AbdurRahimRules from the old days. And Walter, thanks for EVEN FURTHER cementing what a joke you are. If you think the Hawks are a horrible franchise in dire straits, that's fine. The point is that only a lowly human being would want to rain on an obviously happy kid's parade by calling him out for not agreeing with your glass is half empty outlook. It really shows the kind of person you are.
  13. And in case anyone was unsure as to what kind of individuals ARR and Walter are, here's a kid really excited about getting an interview to work for his favorite hoops team, and instead of ignoring the post, these two can't help themselves but post some negativity. Even in a post as innocent and positive as this one. Do everyone a favor Walter and ARR. Don't post anymore. Ever. HawkSquawk would be a much better place without you.
  14. No need to slow it down, because it's quite easy to tell when someone is dead wrong. We're talking about Marvin and where he projects as a player. What Paul and Deron do is completely irrelevant when it comes to what type of player Marvin will become. As TP said, I'll take 13 and 5 with noticeable improvement from a 20-year-old every time.
  15. Walter, you are such a joke. Over and over you reference the fact that Marvin being a #2 pick means we should all have these over the top expectations. Yet at the same time, expectations based on age are nothing more than "excuses." Explain to me again why this makes sense. Oh yeah, it doesn't.
  16. If the 2007-08 season is over, does that mean that Troy and Walter won't post again until 2009?? We can only hope so.
  17. Final standings for the night Team GB 12. Pacers -- 11. Knicks 1.0 (lost to 76ers) 10. T'Wolves 1.0 9. Kings 2.0 (lost to Nuggets) 8. 76ers 2.0 (beat Knicks) 7. Blazers 2.0 (beat the Jazz) 6. Sonics 2.5 (lost to Hornets) 5. Bobcats 3.0 (beat Wiz tonight) 4. Hawks 5.5 (lost to Nets) 3. Bucks 6.0 (beat Celtics) 2. Celtics 9 (lost to Bucks) 1. Grizzlies 14 Late night games had the Kings losing, moving a half-game worse than the Pacers, and the Blazers winning against the Jazz, the lone game of the night that went against the Hawks. All in all, a great night.
  18. New standings Team GB 12. Pacers -- 11. Knicks 1.0 (lost to 76ers) 10. T'Wolves 1.0 9. Kings 1.5 (play later tonight against Nuggets) 8. 76ers 2.0 (beat Knicks) 7. Sonics 2.5 (lost to Hornets) 6. Blazers 2.5 (play later tonight against Jazz) 5. Bobcats 3.0 (beat Wiz tonight) 4. Hawks 5.5 (lost to Nets) 3. Bucks 6.0 (beat Celtics) 2. Celtics 9 (lost to Bucks) 1. Grizzlies 14 Everything has happened as planned. Nugs are up 7, Jazz are up 1.
  19. No, we want the Sonics to lose. They're not going to catch us, and I'd rather them increase the cushion between themselves and the Pacers. The Hornets are crushing them in OT.
  20. Sucks, I thought I'd be able to edit the original post. New standings Team GB 12. Pacers -- 11. Knicks 1.0 (lost to 76ers) 10. T'Wolves 1.0 9. Kings 1.5 (play later tonight against Nuggets) 8. 76ers 2.0 (beat Knicks tonight) 7. Sonics 2.0 (in progress against the Hornets) 6. Blazers 2.5 (play later tonight against Jazz) 5. Bobcats 3.0 (beat Wiz tonight) 4. Hawks 5.5 (lost to Nets tonight) 3. Bucks 6.0 (beat Celtics) 2. Celtics 9 (lost to Bucks) 1. Grizzlies 14 Hornets blew a 13-point fourth-quarter lead by scoring 6 in the final quarter. At least they're headed to OT.
  21. From now until the end of the season, I'll try my best to recap the night's games and how they impact the Hawks' draft position. We'll use the Pacers as the "division leader." Team GB 12. Pacers -- 11. Knicks 1.0 (lost to 76ers) 10. T'Wolves 1.0 9. Kings 1.5 (play later tonight against Nuggets) 8. 76ers 2.0 (beat Knicks tonight) 7. Sonics 2.0 (in progress against the Hornets) 6. Blazers 2.5 (play later tonight against Jazz) 5. Bobcats 3.0 (beat Wiz tonight) 4. Hawks 5.5 (lost to Nets tonight) 3. Bucks 6.5 (in progress against Celtics) 2. Celtics 8.5 (in progress against the Bucks) 1. Grizzlies 14 Feel free to check my numbers. So far, everything has gone the Hawks way tonight. First, the Hawks lost. The Bobcats won, giving Atlanta more of a cushion on the No. 4 seed. The 76ers beat the Knicks, giving the Pacers a little room for error as the No. 12 seed. Not only that, but the Bucks are beating the Celtics by 10 with 4 minutes left, meaning the Hawks can move a half-game from the No. 3 seed. And New Orleans is beating the Sonics. Perfect night, so far. Go Bucks, Hornets, Jazz and Nuggets!!
  22. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/HeadLines.aspx?sport=NBA "Jermaine O'Neal is in uniform and warming up for the Pacers on Wednesday night." http://www.nba.com/standings/team_record_c...ew_Std_Cnf.html Indiana currently stands at 16th in the standings. Walter: "The Indy pick is gone." You, sir, are a retard.
  23. This is the most retarded Diesel post of all time. And that is saying quite a bit. Unlike Walter, I watched the entire game from start to finish. I saw a true freshman put an entire team on his back for 35 minutes against a HUGELY superior team and almost pull out a victory. Kansas is the best team in the country, bar none. And Texas, thanks to Herculean efforts by Durant, has given them all they could handle twice. Brandon Rush had the game of his life and certainly stepped up to the challenge of playing against the best college basketball player in the country. But in no way is that an indictment of Durant. Without him, Texas loses that game by 40. 'Nuff said.
  24. pwnage....major, major pwnage.
