  1. As is the case many times, i agree wholeheartedly with Dolfan. This isn't high school or even college, where coaches are needed to motivate players. This is the NBA. These guys are professionals being paid millions of dollars, knowing that a whole city has their back and is hoping for them to be victorious. If the players lack motivation and fire, that is 110% on the players and has nothing to do with Woody. And don't confuse me with a big-time Woody fan. I'm lukewarm to him at best.
  2. The headline and basis of the original post goes to show what most hear already know and abide by. If someone with Smith or Smoove in their handle posts on the topic of Josh Smith, Marvin Williams or Josh Childress, just completely disregard it, as I've yet to see one that doesn't reflect an incredible, almost over the top bias.
  3. Not that I ever put too much stock in your analysis, but you are so far off it's hard to believe you're a Hoya fan. Hibbert may have carried the team once every 7 or 8 games, but he never carried that team for even a three-game stretch, let alone the entire season. In Big East play, Hibbert averaged 6 rebounds a game. That smacks of lack of effort and/or ability.
  4. I'm a Georgetown fan, and I can tell you that without a doubt, Roy Hibbert is a bum. Hibbert is as soft as they come, and if he gets bullied and taken out of his game by 6'9", 225-pound college players with no NBA prospects, how do you think he'll match up against the big boys? Hibbert watched a little too much Jeff Green in his college days, as he oftentimes disappears for long stretches (and even entire games), when he really should be straight-up dominating. I would much rather have an undersized Al Horford at center than an adequately sized Hibbert, who plays with so little heart and aggression it's disgusting.
  5. This thread, in all its crapiness, should be buried alive.
  6. Holy shite! Desperate much?? To call the Marvin haters desperate at this point is the understatement of the century. How he looks while driving?? Really?? An article from 2004, when Marvin was 18 years old, to knock his abilities?? Seriously?? Not that Diesel and Blunt had much credibility to begin with, but this thread is a prime example of their inability to look at the reality that Marvin has blossomed into the player many knew he would become at the ripe old age of 20.
  7. As a Georgetown fan, I can say that watching Zo's career with the Hoyas was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life as a basketball fan. His freshmen year was sickening. Despite living in NY, it seemed like every G'town game was televised, and I got to watch Zo dominate on defense in a way that I've never seen before or since on a basketball court. It was impossible not to respect Zo's game. He was as competitive and hard-nosed a player as you could find, but he also was a clean player and earned the respect of all his opponents. Thanks, Zo. P.S. He's a lock for the Basketball (not NBA) Hall of Fame.
  8. Quote: What makes Marvin NOT better than Chillz is that Chillz works harder and does more. In the world of Diesel, someone who averages less points, less rebounds, less assists, less steals and less blocks than Marvin is someone who "does more" than Marvin. Whatever you say, Agenda-Man.
  9. Hmmmmm, let's take a look at Diesel's stars and superstars during their age 21 seasons, shall we? Redd -- 6 minutes played on the season. JJ -- played every game, almost 30 minutes a game. Averaged 10 points (on 40% shooting), 3 rebounds, 3 assists. Vince -- averaged 35 minutes a game (on 45% shooting), 18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists. Superstars Kobe -- 38 minutes a game, 22 points (on 47% shooting), 6 rebounds, 5 assists. KG -- 39 minutes a game, 18 points (on 49% shooting), 10 rebounds, 4 assists. Marvin's age 21 season: 16 points (on 50% shooting), 6 rebounds, 2 assists. So, at age 21 none of the superstars or stars mentioned were able to shoot as high a percentage as Diesel's favorite "role player" is now. Marvin clearly outproduced Redd and JJ at this age, and his numbers are virtually identical with Vince's. Marvin's numbers at this age are a step down from Kobe's and KG's, but considering they're perhaps the two best players in the game I guess that's OK. So what does this mean? Diesel, once again, proves his agenda for Marvin-hate ignores all facts. Nice try, D.
  10. Most people would say Chillz is the better player, right?? No?? Really?? I mean, Tayshaun only is averaging 14.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, .4 steals and .4 blocks a game. He plays solid D but is skinny as a rail and is easily overpowered by stronger forwards. Nevermind, Chillz is too much. Who on the Hawks is a little worse than Chillz. According to Diesel, it's Marvin. Why not trade Marvin for him?? Marvin's averaging 16.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals and .4 blocks a game. He plays solid D, too. Wait a minute. Marvin's numbers are good!! Marvin's numbers are better than Tayshaun's!! Marvin is only 21, and Tayshaun will be 28 soon. How can this be?? Tell me, Diesel. How is Marvin not better than Chillz?? How is Marvin not comparable to your boy Tayshaun (and even better when age and improvement vs. plateaud talent are factored in)?? Everyone on this board knows your full of absolute poo in regards to Marvin, but I want to see you circumlocute your way through this one.
  11. I predict that many of the board's frequent posters -- i.e. the Haters -- will be virtually silent tonight. Why? 1) The Hawks won. 2) Marvin was huge. 3) AJ was huge. Oh, how these "fans" must be steaming right now. Sorry, D.
  12. Quote: He had more points last year then anyone in the NBA tell me Iam wrong. OK, you're wrong. Very wrong.
  13. Through 16 minutes of play, Smoove has attempted 2 shots. At the same time, the Hawks only have 2 turnovers and 10 assists on 12 made FGs. amazing how efficient the offense can be when Smoove isn't a black hole.
  14. FYI, Yahoo Sports box scores added +/- recently, a great addition for those of us who don't get to watch the games. In 7 minutes of play, Mario was +12.
  15. I guess I missed the rules change whereby the winner of an NBA game is determined by the sum of the players' jump shot release points and their standing reaches.
  16. Once again, "Diesel facts" are nothing more than Marvin Haterade. "He's a Sf and that's a position that doesn't take much seasoning." What exactly do you expect from a 20-year-old?? Because I'd say 13 and 5 from a 20-year-old is pretty damn good. Unless your LeBron, who is a once in a lifetime player, my guess is every team in the league would take those numbers from a 20-year-old.
  17. But Wally also touted the immense skills and potential of Yi and Sene, two players who are completely overmatched in the NBA. Not exactly a great track record.
  18. I didn't think Yi would light it up from day 1 (or day 758), but for him to look so incredibly horrible makes you really wonder about the hype machine surrounding this supposed "top 3 talent." He's shown no basketball IQ, no heart, no drive, he's been far and away the weakest player on the court at all times, he has no confidence in his shot. Yeah, those things sound like a top 3 pick to me. ------------------------------------------------------------ Diesel: Texas Pete, the legend of Yi will run you off of this board.... I guarantee this!
  19. then I guess you shouldn't be posting in this thread.
  20. 8 minutes left in the 4th. Yi's line is 3 points (on 0-4 shooting), 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 0 steals, 8 fouls and 3 turnovers. His scoring AVG. right now is below 12 PPG. He's 12-for-50 from the field thus far in Summer League play. A robust 24%. Solid. But you just wait until he makes the transition. Or realizes his potential. Or gets stronger. Or whatever. You just wait!!
  21. How'd I know Horford would somehow make his way into this thread?
  22. So the overwhelming majority of Squawkers think Diesel got owned for trying to pass off complete falsehoods off as fact. My guess would be the 6 votes that went against me were Diesel, Diesel alias 1, Diesel alias 2, Walter and 2 other posters who simply hate Horford. Diesel facts are when you throw a bunch of falsehoods out there hoping no one calls you on it. Like "everyone who faced Horford had a career day against him." Remember that one, Diesel? A real fact is when someone brings up shot charts from all of Florida's games and shows that 4 teams out of 40 had good games in the paint last year against Florida. One of them being the most dominant center prospect in generations. One of them being Morris, who scored a whopping 2 points above his average. One of them being Arthur, who'll be a lottery pick and played for one of the best and deepest teams last year. Those are facts. History supports those facts. History doesn't support Diesel's false opinion that he tries to pass off as fact.
  23. lol....I was thinking the same thing. Yi's extended box looks even worse. 24 min., 0-6 from the field, 3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 0 blocks, 0 steals, 5 turnovers and 9 fouls.
  24. There, Diesel finally voted. Let's see if he breaks out any of his aliases that he uses to back his own arguments.
  25. 0 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, 0 steals, 0 blocks. 3 fouls and 2 turnovers. Solid.
