  1. Trae has missed 25% of the season in half of the seasons he's been in the league. Re: JJ and OO, they're also not taking up $40M/yr in cap space and #1 options.
  2. Insanity. Repeatedly trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results. A Trae-led team will never win an NBA title. Too many holes in his game. Too fragile. Too inconsistent. Too specific of a perfectly constructed support system needed for him to be successful. Time to move on and build around the core of DM, JJ, and OO. Move Trae and CC for whatever you can get. Let Bey walk. And implement offensive and defensive systems that take advantage of our roster strengths and can deliver results.
  3. Are you joking? I find it's the opposite. Everything is a "make every excuse in the book for Trae" no matter what the results or our eyes tell us. I don't know that I agree about a correlation between a broader leniency of the refs these last 2 games and Trae being out, but I do agree that Trae hunts for fouls and some ref his games, accordingly.
  4. There’s 0% chance a KD trade would happen without OO involved. And JJ. Plus at least 3-4 first rounders. Why in the world would any team go “all in” on someone who is as soft and gives up as easily as KD? He’s looking for the path of least resistance to a championship and for others to do the heavy lifting. Want nothing to do with a bum like that.
  5. KD is soft and I don’t want him anywhere near this squad - especially at the expense of OO, JJ and all the 1sts. This is Simmons all over again. Both dumb ideas and not worth spending time on.
  6. The most important things necessary for this team to become a true title contender are pretty straight forward: — Trae and Dejounte gelling smoothly — JC reasserting himself aggressively — Hunter living up to his potential I don’t see this team having a shot at a title unless ALL of these things happen.
  7. I see we’re just totally making stuff up now. Cool, cool.
  8. I don’t really consider a 6 seed-level team exciting. Bench and Nate are below average.
  9. LOLOL at JJ even sniffing 12/7 this season. Good one.
  10. As a Georgetown fan, I’ll recommend folks not sleep on Akinjo, either. If given minutes, I can see him really performing well in SL. Strong ballhandler and scorer. Not a ton of size but plays big on both ends. Just a gamer. I would not at all be surprised if he became an NBA rotation guy in 2-3 years.
  11. Good god. No wonder you’re a Simmons fan, with such delicate sensibilities.
  12. Certainly you can. Because it is wrong. Simmons is one of the most overrated players over the last 20 years in the NBA. Can’t shoot a lick. Can’t play close out minutes. Is as mentally soft as they come. After all the BS he’s pulled and poor play demonstrated, the fact he still has admirers really makes me question folks’ ability to recognize the traits of a winning basketball player.
  13. Who cares? Not relevant to me in the least. They likely had similar grades on the 2 and opted to take a free $2 million. Not really sure what’s supposed to be sinking in. Seems pretty straight forward.
  14. Ughh….Baldwin makes Josh Childress look like an aggressive Tasmanian devil. Hard pass.
  15. Someone I’d like to target in the 2nd is Aminu Mohammed from Georgetown. That program is an absolute dumpster fire under Ewing - and Aminu had an up-and-down freshman year - but the youngster already has an NBA body and has an incredible work ethic. His game has plenty of areas where he can improve, but he has the right attitude and some of the right pieces.
  16. The idea ANYONE would get into a bidding war for Ben freaking Simmons just goes to show how gullible humans are. Simmons is garbage - soft, a head case, with HUGE holes in his game. Why can’t you see that?!? Harden, Westbrook, Kyrie, Simmons, Gobert are all EXACTLY the same. They have no heart, extremely limited skills, and will NEVER win anything. Stop coming up with fantasy trades for soft bums. If this team truly wants to improve, that’s Lavine or Ayton. The rest of those bums are worthless.
  17. I check in and out on this board every so often, and I have to say, it’s so comforting to see how committed this group is to the whole “my sources tell me” BS. Supes had most of you going for awhile before folks figured out he was full of it, but now to see copycat “insiders” just warms my heart. LOL
  18. He plays in the EC. Who did you think he was going to go up against? He’s either up tot the task or he’s not. And he’s not.
  19. Explain to me again why so many want LouWill back? He is HORRIBLE.
  20. So by that logic, Lakers never should have signed AD.
  21. First, I loved the off-season moves and am as excited about Hawks basketball as I have been in a long time. Second, I do expect them to exceed even the already “high” expectations of taking the next step to the playoffs. I think we’re better than Indy. And call me crazy, but I see Philly and / or Miami falling off this year. All of that said, we can’t compete with Raptors or Celtics or Bucks. Is there a move that doesn’t kill our depth but still puts us in a better spot for a shot at the title? How about Harden for Hunter, Okungwu, Huerter, 1st? Would expect Rockets to demand Cam, but I wouldn’t make that deal. I would, however, not think twice about trading Hunter, Huerter, 1st. Losing Okungwu hurts, no doubt. But you don’t acquire someone like Harden without giving up talent. Thoughts? I just don’t see us competing for a title, even with the recent improvements, without more.
  22. In an analysis of this season's top 50 scorers, Smoove ranks: 48th in FG% 50th in 3PTFG% (not really 50th, but dead last among shooters attempting at least 0.2 3PTs/game) 49th in FT% (only ahead of Dwight) That, my friends, is Josh Smith's game in a nutshell.
  23. We know Marvin and Al will be out, but any idea on the status of Calderon, O'Neal and Kapono? The Raptors were really short-handed yesterday, so if they're shorthanded again today, I don't see how we can't run them off the floor -- even given our own injury woes.
  24. Quote: I don't think that people always remember that Zaza is still just a kid too since he looks like Phil Hartman portraying the Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer. Fixed it for you.
