    Ted Turner...

Wouldn't it be cool if he bought all of the Atlanta Spirit's assets? I dunno if this is typical, but he's been attending a few of the Hawks' home playoff games.
  2. I hear ya...there have been too many games this season, especially against the bulls and orlando in the playoffs where he just wasn't a factor of any sort
  3. And did you hear when TNT says Josh isn't athletic as he used to be? I mean wtf, he's 25. If he's not athletic anymore we need to just drop this a$$hole
  4. How many times will Drew give Marvin a chance? This guy is absolutely terrible tonight (as usual!). I swear if you ever give Marvin or Zaza the ball for more than 5 seconds bad things always seem to happen.
  5. Ok so the starters and the couple of idiots from the bench we've been putting in the game haven't cut into the lead, so why the hell won't Drew change some things up and put in Teague or someone else.
  6. looks like the Hawks are back to normal
  7. I swear this guy...you can see it on his face during huddles that he's not paying attention, and of course when he gets the ball he burns 12 seconds off the clock and attempts a dramatic three. I can't wait until he's gone next season!!!!!!
  8. Personally, I would be completely satisfied if we traded every player on our team except Horford. As a matter of fact, I would like new ownership, all new players, new coaching, and a revised logo to shed some of the old stigma of this team.

    Fire Larry Drew

Guys, we can fire every coach that lands here. Lets just all agree it's the players. Even if we had Phil Jackson, the Hawks wouldn't be in the Eastern Conf Finals.
  10. What else do you expect with a subpar team who routinely takes a vacation in the middle of games? I (used to be) a die hard Hawks fan, and I have found myself rooting for the Knicks or Bulls this season to represent the East. It is what it is.

    Hallelujah!

I just read this article too. This would be a blessing! I sure hope it happens. I figure it can't get much worse than ASG(we can only assume).
  12. If management isn't willing to make any major moves to improve the team, and EVERYONE knows this team WILL NOT get passed the 2nd round maybe not even the first in this year's playoffs...why don't they just offload everyone, save the money and start over? Doesn't even seem like there are enough stars in the NBA to even help the Hawks. We would need the Western Conference All Stars at this point to come out with a title being in the East. This team is just so frustrating to watch/read about/listen to/ think about!! I wish I could slap every "decision" maker from ASG at the game, but I doubt they even care to attend. :shake_puter:
  13. It's unlikely anything major will happen with this team this year, so I would be completely satisfied if the Hawks tanked the second half of the season to miss or barely make the playoffs, and attendance fell even lower than the dismal numbers they currently are. Perhaps this will encourage ASG to sell this team to owners who care, or actually make a move to improve the team. After this season, it doesn't even look like any superstars are left for the Hawks to grab if we were even willing to spend the money. Personally i'm looking forward to the Braves right about now.
  14. Completely agree. We also need real owners. I think a lot of owners in many leagues are pretty content with just owning a team and making enough money. As long as they make a profit, they don't care if they win/lose. Then you have real teams, Yankees, Phillies, Patriots, Lakers, Celtics, etc who WANT to win. Our management will always be the reason for a lackluster squad. I hope they're driven by money enough to sell the team to an owner who cares.
  15. This should be the Atlanta Hawks' marketing campaign: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3V5S7NhvcA&feature=related But seriously, can we have ownership who wants to actually have a goal of a championship? Like someone said in another post, we haven't had a superstar since 'nique, and the playoffs the last couple years and the beginning of this season is just a complete joke. I've been a diehard Hawks fan since before the days you could get 50% off tickets on the back of Sprite cans (and people still just threw them away), but it's hard to see that we have/had a talented team that has seemed to peak, and management isn't willing to do anything about it except wait until they age and slowly but surely deteriorate. I was looking forward to this season, and less than a month in, i'm already waiting for Braves Spring training, and Sundays to roll around so i can watch the Falcons play hard. ...Wouldn't it be nice if Arthur Blank owned this team....sigh :( ...Wouldn't it be nice if Arthur Blank owned this team....sigh :(
  16. hehe.. i'm not sure a 30 point loss can be blamed all on the refs. We just sucked...which seems to be a trend.
  17. I also think, this playoff year will significantly effect attendance next season. I have no plans to purchase any Hawks tickets next year
  18. Is it possible for the Hawks to just get rid of most of everyone and go after someone of Wade status? I mean... i would happy if the Hawks just overspend on a great player...the worst that can happen is more ticket sales. Anyone have any other ideas?

    This is Ugly

I hear what you're saying, but in a game like this where it looks like the globetrotters are playing a little league team that calls become less important. Wouldn't be surprised or blame them if they switched to the Lakers before this crummy game is over.
  20. I just don't think we have the talent or coaching skills to beat Orlando. I just hope we make some big changes in the off-season, because this is quite ridiculous. Technically, we have not improved much over the last couple of years.
  21. What do you base this on? We sucked on the road this series, and couldn't seal the deal tonight on our court, and Woodson doesn't appear to have an answer to the Bucks (except to keep doing the same thing we've been doing all series and all season). For us the win, we would actually have to turn up our game play, like a real playoff team is supposed to do, and catch the Bucks sleeping. But honestly... I really think the Bucks team probably wants it more than we do.
  22. I will admit that I don't have any answers for that...but the team in its current state will fruit nothing in the long run. I'm just hoping someone up top can be creative and come up with a stellar team for next season.
  23. "Series aint over yet..." But I hope it does end...i really think we'll be embarrassed even more by Orlando.
