  1. I'm looking forward to watching it again.
  2. Collins seems to get more respect from the refs this season. Last season the refs were horrible about always calling the foul on Collins even when it was an obvious offensive foul. Collins would get a couple of quick fouls and Woody would yank him. I don't remember ever seeing a player get as little respect as Collins did last season when it comes to fouls. It really was unbelievable, but it has gotten better this season. I think the refs making better calls involving Collins has made a huge difference in us beating Orlando this season. I hope it doesn't get bad in the playoffs again.
  3. 680 the fan They asked some pretty good questions.
  4. Where do I sign the petition to bring this guy in. I realize these videos are just highlights, but he has got to be a big improvement over Zaza and Collins. How old is he and what is the real chance we could get him? Does anybody know if the Knicks would actually let him go?
  5. I absolutely 100% agree. He did all the right things. If he could consistently play like that we would be a much better team. I really hope something will click with him and he will see the difference in his play in this game vs. his play in the Bucks game.
  6. Josh Smith's shot selection is absolutely unacceptable and something needs to be done. Josh was not the only reason we lost this game, but we will never go far in the playoffs with him shooting like that. Did anyone hear Josh screaming at Horford to "shoot it"? I can't remember when(maybe 3rd qtr), but Josh threw the ball to Horford and when Al hesitated and then passed it Josh screamed "shoot it" as loud as he could. You could clearly hear it on tv. Al was somewhat open and he might should have shot it, but might have been a little further out than he wanted. Either way, Josh screaming like that is not good for team chemistry. I wonder how Josh would react if Al screamed "don't shoot it" when he gets the ball at the 3-pt line.
  7. Yeah, LD said it a couple of times in some interviews I read at the beginning of the season. Josh started actually making some 3's so it became ok, I guess. The last several weeks he almost never makes one and most of them look terrible. Somebody needs to ask LD about it again because I haven't heard anyone mention it to him. To me it's absolutely unacceptable and it has to stop. We will not go anywhere in the playoffs with Josh doing that, guaranteed. This team as a whole needs to take the ball to the basket more. If anything you get to the free throw line and help get the opposing players in foul trouble.
  8. Anybody watching the game today(tuesday)? Sy made a good move on a fast break and went in for a layup and just missed. Play after that he drove in for a layup and missed it. Next play he drove in nicely and kicked it out, but that guy threw it away. I wonder if anybody else noticed the hot trainer for Springfield who came out to help a player. She was bent over and had a nice tramp stamp. They just showed her again and she might not be as hot as I thought.

    Hawks-Bucks?

I just heard from a friend who works at Phillips and they are re-scheduling the game. They just decided this. Not sure why they changed their mind.
  10. That was a terrible call and it should have ended the game. I actually thought they were reviewing it, but I guess they were just discussing it. No way they saw that on replay and didn't change the call.
  11. Sy has been extremely unimpressive in the little bit of time he has been in this game. How many games has he played in the D-league so far? I know he hasn't played very many, but not sure. If he looks bad and barely gets any playing time in the D-league then he has a long ways to go before he gets any minutes with the Hawks. I wasn't expecting him to be amazing, but I was hoping for better than what little I've seen so far. I'm not saying he can't improve, but he looks far from what most were hoping for right now.
  12. Zaza has been horrible this season and I hope he can turn it around. I wonder if his restaurant closing a month and a half ago has had anything to do with his bad play. A restaurant doing bad and then closing can be very distracting to an owner. From what I heard Zaza spent as much time as possible at the restaurant and was very into owning his own restaurant. Last season he started out looking pretty bad, but he got better as the season went on so hopefully that happens again.
  13. For the record his name is Weatherspoon, LOL. He signed a 5 year $17.5 million with $10.5 million guaranteed. Woohoo!
  14. That's funny. I have to admit it does seem like much longer than 4 days. I laughed when I went back and looked at the first post.
  15. I really hope he is ok I read an article that said police don't expect foul play and that he has had serious financial problems and recently lost his home. We can only hope that he is just stressed out somewhere and needed a little escape.
  16. I was in a store standing in line today and I overheard the guy in front of me talking about the lakers. He seemed to be a big lakers fan so I asked him what he thought about Josh Powell, and he had good things to say. I asked about Powell before I mentioned the Hawks might sign him just so I would be sure to get an honest answer. He immediately said Powell is a really good player with a good mid range jump shot. He also said a few more good things about him that I didn't really hear because it was my turn in line and the cashier started talking to me. He thought since Powell already won 2 rings that he is probably looking for some playing time now because he doesn't get much with the loaded Lakers. I'm not trying to say this Lakers fan knows everything, but I think it's always good to hear another perspective. Think about If we were losing a bench player and when somebody asked you about them your immediate response was "he is a really good player", etc. Who would that player be for the Hawks now or in the past? I figured hearing something positive about a guy we might sign would be a good thing for the message board. Hopefully it makes some of you feel a little better.
  17. I definitely don't think Jason Collins is the answer, but I do think he is better than some people seemed to think. He most definitely needs to get in shape and the hawks need to insist on it. I think I heard Horford mention him needing to get in shape too. Also, someone mentioned that Shaq gets more respect from the refs than him and that is definitely true. In the playoffs against Orlando they called a bunch of fouls on him and most of them were BS. I think one game he got like 3 fouls in 5 minutes and Woody yanked him out so he didn't get much of a chance. Some of those calls were absolutely rediculous and I can't believe the refs can get away with calling those calls just because it was Jason Collins on Dwight.
  18. LOL did you see Randolph Morris get completely schooled on the 3rd video(shake rattle and roll) on that link? No way Morris makes the team this year. Zero chance.
  19. Yeah, I erased the http:// before I inserted it so I'm not sure what I did wrong. I guess I will figure it out at some point. I've done it before on the Falcons message board and I've used the edit function there too. Not sure why I'm having trouble here. I went out last night so my brain is a little foggy.
  20. Thanks for fixing it. I copied and then pasted it in the insert link place you mentioned, but it didn't work. I still don't see where to edit. I'm looking to the right of the reply box, but it's not there.
  21. Is there a way to edit my post after I posted it? Please bare with me I'm a newbie trying to figure this board out. They just showed a couple of highlights on NBA network and Teague really looked good.
  22. I was out and didn't get to watch the game so I was wondering if anybody here saw it and what they thought about it. I'm surprised that nobody has had much to say about any of the summer league games. I know it's summer league, but I figured there would be some feedback here. Here is a write up I found about the game last night. It looks like Teague, Crawford, and Gilder played well. I really like what I've seen from Gilder. http://www.peachtreehoops.com/2010/7/18/1575358/game-recap-summer-league-game-4 I didn't insert the link correctly, but you can copy and paste. Can somebody let me know the correct way to insert a link please? Thanks.
  23. haha, yes, but LD is going to straighten Josh out this year and have him boxing out and not shooting way out by the 3 point line. This is part sarcasm and part thinking positive. Maybe playing center will help force Josh to box out and not be outside shooting just inside the 3 point line. This is also sarcasm and positive thinking.
  24. Stoudemire is 6'10 245 with a 9 ft standing reach and Al is 6'10 245 with an 8'11 reach. Josh Smith it 6'9 240 with an 8'11 standing reach. Like I said I'm thinking have Josh move to center only some of the time, which should cut down on possible injuries.
  25. First off this is my first post, although I read these boards every day, so take it easy on me. Is it possible to have Josh Smith play center some while Al plays PF? Josh is almost the same size as Al and as Amare Stoudemire. Al does struggle with some guys and he wants to play PF more. I'm not saying have Josh as center all of the time, but maybe try him out on some of the guys Al has a hard time guarding. Do you think Josh can do any better? This just popped in my head and I haven't really thought it through, but I wanted to see what you guys think about it. Why is it not a good idea or is it? It doesn't look like we are signing another center worth a crap so maybe it's worth a try just to change things up a bit.
