  1. I looked at the TV schedule and NBA TV will show it Sunday at 6:00 a.m. Oh well, at least they show it at some time. I will record it and watch it Sunday afternoon.
  2. This is a really good and very recent interview with Bazemore. Sounds like he is ready to sign, but waiting for the best deal with the most playing time. It also sounds like some of the teams trying to sign Lebron or Carmelo want him, but of course nothing will happen until they make a decision. He also sounds like a very high character guy. http://www.basketballinsiders.com/nba-pm-bazemore-weighs-free-agency-options/
  3. Yeah, I was thinking that was about the only thing we can say, but I'm curious how much more playing time he will get here. I assume more than with the Spurs, but how much more. I'm curious what Bud's real plan is for him.
  4. I hate to go negative, but I can't help but think it will be a pretty hard sell to get him to come here instead of to the Spurs. I imagine we will have to offer quite a bit more money. It would be interesting to hear Ferry and Coach Bud's pitch to him.
  5. There are quite a few teams with a good amount of cap space who are waiting on Melo and Lebron. When those two make a decision Deng and others like him will get overpaid probably more than the guys who already agreed to contracts. Ferry and Coach Bud are probably trying real hard to get an agreement with Deng asap so that doesn't happen, but I'm sure he will wait. Deng will be overpaid by whoever signs him so get ready for it.
  6. Yesterday on 680 the fan Hometeam brandon Leak said he has it on very good authority that the Hawks have definitely tried to trade Horford. He didn't say if he meant currently and it seemed he just meant in the past. I think he even said they have tried to trade him several times, but can't remember his words exactly. Either way it seems it's a definite possibility.
  7. I will be there Saturday and I can't wait. I don't think I've ever been to a Saturday 2 pm. playoff game.
  8. Another close game. Hope we can pull it off. Did Korver get a 3? I didn't see one, but I missed a little bit of the game.
  9. I just read this on rotoworld "The Rockets now expect to keep Omer Asik (knee, thigh) past the trade deadline, according to CBS Sports. It's not a surprise with teams not ready to commit to the asking price of general manager Daryl Morey. Asik has been out due to a knee injury and there has really been no timetable for his return. If the Rockets do indeed keep him, it would help Terrence Jones' value. Fantasy owners can leave Asik on the wire in most leagues. Jan 3 - 2:40 PM" http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nba/1533/omer-asik
  10. Haha, I saw it too. Those guys totally forget those cameras are in the locker room most of the time. The camera was just a few feet from him and he was looking at it so I don't know what he was thinking.
  11. I read that he didn't even have one practice. Are you sure he had one? He did pretty good to have had little or no practice with the team. It also tells me that Schröder has great natural instincts to find the open player even when he isn't familiar with the player.
  12. That was a great game to be at. I had a blast and the wave was a trip. I couldn't believe how loud and intense it was when the wave was going around. I was sitting with a friend who has worked at Phillips for 10 years and she said she had never seen the wave like that there. I guess they showed it on tv too because I got a text from a friend about it when it was happening. This team is so fun to watch when they are playing the way they played last night. I was concerned early on because there were a lot of empty seats, but the crowd really got into the game and the seats did somewhat fill up. Danny Ferry was sitting on my row about 8 people down and for a little while he was sitting a couple of rows in front of me. At the beginning of the game I was watching him in front of me to see how he was reacting to the game. I was definitely wondering what he was thinking with so many empty seats since this was his first playoff game with the Hawks. The only time I really saw him react to the game was when the Pacers got a steal, drove down, and Devin Harris ran down and blocked it. Devin blocked it, but there was no other Hawk even across half court so another Pacer caught the ball and made the basket. I was screaming for them to hustle down and when I looked at Ferry he was pointing out all the Hawks players standing at the other end of the court to his daughter(?). I had a great time and I'm going back Monday night, which is my birthday. Edit to say that I saw Morton Anderson there too. It was good to see him cheering on the Hawks.
  13. Why did they take away that shot by Josh at the very end of the half? It looked like he got it off in plenty of time. Wait, they just showed it again and he got it off in plenty of time. That's ridiculous and it was a 3 pointer.
  14. I thought Morrow looked good before the injury, but he has barely played since he got healthy. I haven't really understood that and I still don't. If they wanted to trade him they should have at least put him in to take make shots so people might be a little more interested.
  15. I've been a fan of Wallace for awhile, but I don't know how well heis still playing. How old is he? Isn't Brooks the young guy who has alot of potential? I can't remember if he is the guy I'm thinking aboutor not. Last week on the radio a national reporterwho's name I can't remember was talking about trade talk and hementioned that Josh Smith doesn't have a whole lot of trade value.
  16. I have to admit I thought it was an odd choice when he was a commentator for a game and I thought this promotion seemed a bit odd too. TI went to prison for buying a lot of assault weapons and then got in trouble again after that so what example is that sending to kids? I think after going to prison for weapons it seems weird he would put a gun on his album. I imagine it's mostly for controversy so he will get more publicity or maybe it is some kind of symbol for a positive change. The problem is when kids see that they unfortunately just see a rapper holding a gun. I don't think the whole thing is horrible, but I just think it's an odd choice. Hopefully he has turned his life around. I will say I thought he did a pretty good job commentating for that one game. He seemed to know a lot about basketball and the Hawks.
  17. It was a great game and the 4th qtr was really sweet. I don't know why the Hawks have had so many problems in the 3rd qtr for so long, but hopefully it will get worked out. The Hawks were playing zone defense in the 4th qtr and I think that is what made the Pacers look like crap. It worked against Oklahoma too.
  18. I recall hearing LD last year yelling at them to push it when they weren't. I also remember Teague saying he wanted to push it up the court fast, but they didn't always do that. He said LD wants him to push it when he gets the ball. I took that to mean that LD wanted him to lead them into a fast break more because they weren't doing it like they should. I also saw Devin Harris pushing it up the court last night when he got the chance. Josh gets the ball and most of the time just dribbles down the court. It ends bad most of the time. I'm not a Josh hater because I love a lot of what he does, but that is one the things that drives me crazy.I want to see them push it even on a made basket and last night they were in no hurry at all after a made basket. We have young and fast players and plenty of them to sub in and out so push it and wear out the other team some. Our half court offense hasn't been good for a long time and we need to score however we can. On a positive note, I do think our shooting will improve because we have some very good shooters. We almost won last night even though Al didn't play well, Korver couldn't hit a shot, and it was our first game with a lot of new guys.
  19. Josh was his usual self. Can anyone tell me if the shot clock was running out when Josh shot that 3 towards the end of the game? LD was saying after the game that it was a good shot because he thought the shot clock was running out. He did say that he would have to review the tape and see if that was actually the case. He also said he thought a couple of other guys passed up shots before Josh shot it though.LD is going to have a tough time figuring out a rotation with these new guys and I predict some players are going to end up not happy with their playing time. I hope LD can get it figured out sooner rather than later. I really think Ivan should have come in the game, but I guess LD was trying to see what the other guys could do. This year will really show what kind of a coach LD is. If he can pull this off he deserves some real credit. Korver had a bad game, but I do expect him to get better. We all know he can shoot lights out so I think it will come. He was very frustrated with the fouls called against him and to that I say welcome to the Atlanta Hawks, get used to it. I don't understand how we keep hearing how much we will be running all the time and be very fast, dominating on fast breaks, blah, blah, blah. Where was it? I don't get it. I saw it some, but why not more of it? Houston seemed better at it than us.Props to Zaza, he had a good game.
  20. I watched some of it online, but was also watching the UGA football game. We looked pretty good, but it was hard to tell too much. They were missing Dirk and some other players and we didn't have all of our starters. I thought our defense and rebounding was pretty good, but our offense kept bogging down. We scored 58 in the first half, but I missed most of the first half. I had a lot of the same feelings I've had with the Hawks before where I think wow we can't get anybody open or run much of a half court offense. You can only guess who was shooting outside shots instead of driving to the basket. I also saw Korver miss a lot of shots, but I think that will turn around. I'm really looking forward to seeing these new guys in a real game with a regular rotation. I do think they need to get used to playing with each other more because you could tell they weren't always on the same page.

    Keith Benson

link Benson makes big jump Oakland center Keith Benson has been on a mission for the past two days and it manifested itself on the high jump during the combine. Benson outjumped the 12-foot bar on Friday, which is at the top of the backboard. "They didn't actually tell me, but I rated a little higher," said Benson, who's been rated as a late first-round or early second-round pick. "They had to raise the bar (laughs)." Benson averaged 17.9 points, 10. 1 rebounds and 3.6 blocked shots per game for the Oakland Grizzlies last season, as he solidified himself as a bona fide NBA prospect. Over the past 48 hours, he's sat down with eight teams, including Chicago, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Clippers. His biggest mission has been to quell the notion about not being able to measure up against top-notch players. "I like the process, to get the chance to play against bigger names," Benson said. "I'm excited to get this chance. People have questions about the competition I've played in the past few years. I'm anxious to show them." Benson has workouts scheduled with Miami, Portland and Boston. He doesn't yet have a workout scheduled with the Pistons, but believes something will be set up for the first week of June. 22. I feel strongly that Heinrich will be a Hawk next season. They traded a whole lot to get him and he brings that toughness and good defense that the Hawks need and want. It seems like everybody expects and wants to trade him, but I just don't see it happening unless somebody makes an offer that is impossible to turn down.
  23. It was pretty funny when they showed LD in the huddle saying be patient, drive the ball, and don't settle for outside shots. 30 seconds later Josh gets the ball at the 3 and almost shot it with a bunch of time left on the shot clock. He passed it and then somebody passed it back to him and he shot it that time(missed). I was screaming to yank him now and show him you are not going to put up with that crap. LD yanked him very shortly after that. I was very happy to see LD step up and do it. I hope it helps.
  24. I fully agree. I have been yelling for that for several years now. I have no idea why more teams/players don't do that. It makes no sense to me not to do it. I loved that they kept showing LD in the huddle. It shows all the fans that LD has been screaming the same thing we have the whole season. Every interview I've seen with LD he says the same thing and he said it in the press conferences last night too. The players just wont listen. A friend of mine who works at Phillips said LD might not have a job next season just because the players wont listen to him. It's obvious in practice too. They still think of him as the assistant coach and don't respect him as the head coach. This is exactly what a lot of us were worried about when they hired LD. By the way It is cool to me seeing LD talking at a national press conference. It was funny going from LD to Van Gundy though. Kind of like going from Jim Caldwell to Rex Ryan.
  25. If you look at Zaza after they pulled Richardson away from him you will see that when Zaza yells he bobs his head to stress the words. He was 5 feet away and when he yelled his head goes forward every time. I don't think he was trying to head butt him from 5 feet away. The way I see it Richardson got up in his personal space and got too close to the huge bobbing head of Zaza. The league probably wont see it like that though. They will probably suspend both of them, but there is no way it should be the same punishment. They really should take notice of how Dwight throws elbows and do something about it.
