  1. I'm not one to make fun of Joe Johnson, I'm actually a big fan of him...but this one is too easy... Woman: Haven't you stolen enough money this season?
  2. Why would Portland do it? Oden injured, is still a good trading piece. I bet when Oden hits the market, he will still hear plenty of offers. But anyway, Portland could do a lot better than Marvin with Greg Oden, especially considering Batum is a great solid young piece.
  3. He wouldn't be that big of an upgrade over Collins. Collins is severely underrated in this board....he has played a pretty good part on our success with Marvin's injury.
  4. Billups has made it clear that he wants to finish his career in Denver and join the front office there when he retires. I would love Billups but I doubt any team would convince him of not going back to Denver, not even Miami.
  5. His impact off the court is enough for him to be a first ballot.
  6. That's actually correct. That was actually the last time the Hawks won in San Antonio. The Spurs can dominate the Hawks on offense and on defense. It will be a tough game for sure.
  7. The Hawks' best chances on winning is copying the Detroit Pistons team. That Pistons team didn't have a true #1 option, they had a bunch of players that worked together well and were willing to share the ball. Getting a player as good as Steve Nash without trading one of the team's main core (Horf, JJ, Smoove) is easily the best move. Also, JJ-Melo-Horford is a great combination, but what makes them any better than the Heat's Big 3 of Wade-LeBron-Bosh?
  8. He did play horrible that one game, but I think if he got consistent minutes, he wouldn't look so bad. LD has used Etan the way Woody used Jason Collins. You can't expect someone to look good or play good when you don't play him. The Magic game was the 8th game of the season, and that was the first game Etan made an appearance(I think). I'm not saying he's a good player or anything. He can't even beat Collins in the rotation. I'm just a bit disappointed that I see Etan in a suit almost every single game.
  9. Count me in there. Most anticipated game so far this season. Even bigger than the NBA Season opener. Rooting for the Cavs to win by the way!
  10. My favorite player out of everyone would be Brandon Roy. The player I wish we could have had was Chris Paul. I voted Roy. :)
  11. West Guards: Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul Forwards: Kevin Durant, Tim Duncan Center: Marcus Camby East Guards: Rajon Rondo, Joe Johnson Forwards: Danny Granger, Josh Smith Center: Al Horford The choices for the West Centers is just horrendous. If Al Horford or Noah were in the West, they would(or should) easily be the starting Center. I voted for Kobe because he's the best player on the best team. I voted for CP3 because he's the biggest reason why the Hornets are the surprise team in the entire NBA. I voted for Durant because he is the best forward in the West. I voted for Tim Duncan because someone on the Spurs deserves a starting spot. I voted for Horford because he's a Hawks player and Dwight already has enough votes. I voted for Smoove because he's a Hawks player and he's been playing amazingly this year. I voted Granger because I didn't want to vote for Pierce or James. I voted for Rondo because he's a big reason why the Celtics are still a top team in the East. I voted for Joe because I didn't want to vote for Wade.
  12. It really sucks (for the Hawks) that New Orleans and Phoenix are doing better than expected. Imagining either CP3 or Nash getting traded anytime soon is hard right now. Getting either of them will bump us to LEGIT contender status. Getting any other point guard is questionable.
  13. It seems like the home sucess and road woes flipped this season. We're 3-3 at home right now. We only lost 7 home games out of 41 last season. I really doubt that we could match our home record from last season, but I hope that we get close to it.
  14. He was the player I wanted the Hawks to draft originally, I would definitely welcome him with open arms. He has been struggling recently offensively (and actually defensively), but he's better than what we have now at the point guard spot. He probably doesn't have as high of a ceiling as Teague, but I'm real desperate to win now.
  15. I think opposite with your view on Jamal and Joe. I expect Joe to get better, and I wouldn't be surprised if this is the most we get out Jamal all season long. Jamal has rarely (if ever) looked like he fits in with the offense. Joe on the other hand has played through the offense, but unfortunately.....just missed some shots (open ones that he usually makes). I have no doubts that Joe is just in a shooting slump. Most of his misses are shots that I've seen him make in previous years. However, I do have doubts if Jamal will ever get it. He's still living in his own fantasy world of Woody Ball.
  16. I'm surprised they did. The Hawks are short-handed in the point guard spot, but I thought they would do it to add more depth in the front-court. JP is a fairly average role player, but having Jason Thompson come off the bench for Josh Smith would be great. Plus, it's not like Teague has shown great flashes this season. Like coachx said, that really tells you how much the front office believes in Teague. If that was Acie Law, we would have done the trade in a heart beat.
  17. I think Billups would be the best fit. He has all the things we want from a point guard: proven competitor, leadership, 3 point shooter, and defense. He would fit in well with the offense we have. He's not a true-true playmaker, but with the offense we are running...it's not that necessary. Still, Steve Nash would still be my first choice out of anybody. If there was only a way...
  18. It's official. Michael Cunningham on Twitter said, Marvin will start tonight and Mo will come off the bench later on. No more Jason Collins on the lineup! :)
  19. With an impressive win tonight, the negative feelings a lot of Hawks fans have right now about the team...should get better. At least I would hope so. A win in national television always cures some hurt feelings. The biggest thing I'll be looking for is effort for 48 minutes. This Jazz team has come back from double digit deficits in their last 3 wins. They're the first team in the shot-clock era to win three straight games (vs. Clippers, @Miami, @Orlando) after trailing double digits in halftime. I'm looking for the bench to step up their play as well. Michael Cunningham confirmed that Mo Evans will play tonight, so at least our bench will somewhat improve. I think Marvin Williams is still questionable. I hope he plays, but I don't think he will.
  20. I saw it. It didn't seem that serious. I really doubt that's the reason why we're playing averagely at home...we're just getting outworked by the other team.
  21. Hawks Facebook Page. The Hawks are giving out 2 free tickets for the Bucks game. They're not giving out any seats in the 100's but there are plenty of seats available in the 200's and the 300's. I hope you guys take advantage of it. We need more people in Philips.
  22. I'm not afraid of the Cavaliers talent, I'm more concerned that the Hawks will be taking this game lightly and the Cavs come out with energy at home. The only way they can beat us is by energy and effort. Hawks have lost some games in the past due to not taking the game seriously because the opposing team is less talented. If the Hawks don't come out flat tonight, I fully expect a win.
  23. Wouldn't call him the cockiest, but he was definitely cocky Saturday night. There's a line between confident and cocky, he crossed that line. It's whatever though, I could care less what he does (or did)....as long as we won the game, I'm happy.
  24. I don't think keeping the pick would have made any difference. Our 1st round pick has only played two minutes so far this season. I doubt that whoever we drafted in the second round would get more.
