Kane, a former stand out at Iowa State, spent the past few days working out in Atlanta and settled upon a potential future with the Hawks. Now, Atlanta will integrate the 6-foot-4 product into their summer program and Kane will attempt to increase his stock in dialogue through performances in summer league. The NBA's free agency period doesn't begin until July 1. In 40 games with Antwerp in Belgium and Krasny in the Eurocup, Kane averaged 12.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 44 percent from the field. Kane, 26, had his strongest stretch during the EuroChallenge with Antwerp, scoring 14.4 points along with 5.7 rebounds and five assists. As a recruit of Fred Hoiberg at Iowa State, Kane had averages of 17.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists in his senior year. The Chicago Bulls had a level of interest in Kane, sources said, but his workouts in Atlanta led to a commitment Thursday night. Kane went to summer league with the Los Angeles Lakers a year ago after going unselected in the 2014 NBA draft. He spent his first three college seasons at Marshall. 2. He'll probably spend a large portion of his contract money on seeing his relatives several thousand times in Jurassic World when it comes out in several days.

    Feeling thankful

It's crazy to see how far this team has come. When I was 10-11 back in the early 2000's I used to always beg my dad to take me to games; him being an excellent father led to me going to Hawks games. He always did it for me. Man I'm blessed. Those Hawks teams included guys like Shareef, Jet Terry, Theo Ratliff, Dan D1ckau, Chris Crawford, Joel Pryzbilla, Nazr Muhammed, Dion Glover, Travis Hansen, Alan Henderson, Antoine Walker, Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, and tons of more random dudes that I've forgotten about. I'd have to look up the old rosters and remember some of those guys. I'd probably laugh so hard when I look at the list of names. I've been an Atlanta sports fan my entire life and I stick with my team win or lose. I was teased a lot growing up in school because I was the Atlanta fan while the other kids were always jumping on the "cool team's" bandwagon. Annnnnnnnnd boy has this Hawks team been paying off its dividends for always sticking with them even when they couldn't win more than 20 games a year (heck if I remember correctly they only won 9 games one of those years!). Hopefully the Braves and Falcons will do the same too lol! Oh and bring back my Thrashers! This Hawks team is seriously the best Atlanta team that I can ever remember. Though I'm only 22 so I wouldn't have witnessed as many teams as a lot of you folks who are older than I am.
  4. Awesome start! I'm so mad that I didn't buy tickets the other day lol! Coming home after a 3 game road trip and being the hottest team in the NBA at the moment=our home crowd better be pumped throughout the whole game. Hopefully times like this will also bring more people out to Philips. Attendance has definitely been better but let's keep improving.
  5. Nice Al! He's definitely progressed ever since the start of the season but I still don't think he's at his best yet.
  6. Started off very sloppy. Nice adjustments in the 2nd half for a Hawks win. Schröder looked pretty good.
  7. Atlanta sports are cursed. Atlanta sports is my love but also not good for my blood pressure, heart rate, and other health aspects.
  8. Goodness gracious. We're hanging on but we shouldn't have choked the game away late in the 4th like we did.
  9. Disappointing loss. A lot of you mentioned good points though. Sloppy game by both teams, atrocious referees, etc. I love the heart of this team though and hopefully this game is a stepping stone and not just a 2nd place trophy that will collect dust on the shelf. The Spurs really did shut down our offense in the 1st half and even when we had good opportunities, we could barely sink anything. Took a while for the offensive rhythm to get going. 11 FTA opposed to 38 FTA is a nice fine home cooked meal. That definitely was Dennis' best game as a Hawk as you mentioned, Cap.
  10. Very sloppy 1st half and atrocious referees throughout the entire game. Hard to beat the refs. Should've been a win tonight. Dennis posterizing Leonard and Duncan doe...
  11. Just stop. You're getting my hopes up, Dolf. Teague, Korver, Leonard, Sap, Big Al + our bench Daaaaaaaaaang!
  12. Pretty much Horford for Waiters? H************ no!
  13. Well if the Nets are a lottery team and our team's name was the 'Cleveland Cavaliers' then we have a 100% chance of getting the #1 pick lol.
  14. I agree man. Jenkins can contribute to us when healthy as a 3 point specialist but maaaaaan I really like what I see out of Patterson. I'm assuming you saw the game today? He looked good! Before anyone else takes my words out of context, I am not saying that Patterson is the chosen one that we will make a superstar out of, but I'm saying that he's a great two way player. A very well rounded player who can do multiple things whether it be pass the ball, shoot, slash, or play good defense.
  15. Dolf, I could see that happening. I understand Jenkins was injured and will take some time to come back to normal. I like Jenkins as a spot up shooter but as for Patterson eventually taking over Jenkins' job; Patterson is the more complete player. He looked really good today defensively and offensively. Can shoot anywhere and slash. I noticed that Patterson and Payne already have some decent chemistry with each other.
  16. "How many more years do we have to keep hearing this." Lol I don't know how many years. Maybe you could answer that yourself since you can apparently predict the future (bolded words). Lol no hostility at all towards you bud, just messin' around with ya! :)
  17. People want to complain about picking up Bazemore at an extremely low price. Yet if he were signed by the Heat, Spurs, Knicks, Bulls, or Thunder then these same people who are complaining would also complain that another team signed Bazemore and Ferry didn't. You really just can't please some people. Some people lose patience and want everything up front NOW instead of building a team that can compete for the long haul even if it means having a few not-so-successful years at the start-up. Of course I understand where some of them are coming from because they simply want the Hawks to be a real contender and I give major props to them for always staying with the team instead of just bandwagoning to a different team. However, there's only several superstars to go around. We don't have one, okay then that is fine. Let's build a system with a quality coaching staff and talented players. Give me a smart/hardworking team who plays for each other under a real head coach, like the coach that we finally have, and fills their role(s) instead of a team that has a superstar amongst 'me-first' attitude type players and coached by a mediocre at best head coach. I understand the frustration with Ferry, he has me scratching my head some too. All I can say is be patient folks, and yes I know that you've been waiting 30+ years blah blah blah but sports isn't all that there is to life. Enjoy the other things that you like in life while also keeping up with the Hawks, don't let transactions and personnel moves of your sports team(s) get under your skin as much. I know the negative folks out there want a winner, we all do, and that the easiest way of accomplishing that is by acquiring a superstar or nobody but notable established players who aren't past their primes. This year, that's not going to happen but why not still make improvements from last year (I know the sour grapes will believe that we've downgraded and not improved by any means even in the slightest ways) and then make improvements next offseason and so on? Build off the previous year and keep moving forward. Big things have small beginnings. Anyways... Kent Bazemore who just turned 25 for a 2 year/$2 million dollar deal>>>>>>>>>>Ben Gordon's and Jodie Meeks' golden tickets that they received. Bravo move! Low risk, high reward!
  18. I want Deng but I don't see it happening. What about Evan Turner?
  19. Tracy McGrady once played for the Hawks at one time lol.
  20. Lol but seriously though. Imagine if Cleveland would've drafted Nerlens Noel (with knowing that he'd sit out his rookie year of course) that year and say if LeBron does go back. Their lineup would be: PG: Irving SG: Wiggins SF: LeBron PF: Somebody C: Noel That'd be pretty darn good but instead they have Anthony Bennett lol.
  21. What in the world would we do with Anthony Bennett? Design a diet for him?
  22. That could definitely explain why I've never seen anything from him defensively lol!
  23. Would love a Horford-Monroe pairing in Atlanta. I love Sap and he's an all-around great player, but I would definitely be interested in moving him for Monroe. I agree with Dolf about not wanting to trade away a pick; however I just wouldn't want to trade away a 2015 pick but would be okay to trade a 2016 pick if that's what it takes along with Sap. Monroe barely turned 24 and hasn't had the best of coaching in his NBA career. I think he could thrive extremely well over here. We need his inside scoring as he's an animal down in the post with the ball. As some of you have mentioned, he's also a good passer. What I've noticed about him is that whenever he gets the ball in the paint there is usually almost always 2 guys and sometimes 3 guys drawing towards him like a magnet yet he still scores. With 2-3 guys drawing in on him and his good passing ability, Bud would be licking his chops about the vast amount of real estate that his deadly snipers have to themselves behind the 3-point line. I really don't think that Monroe is even as good as he will become and I think that a coach like Bud could really bring the best out of him and hopefully that includes defense. The addition of Payne would lessen the loss of Sap IMO. Again, about Monroe's defense. I admit that I've never seen Monroe much on the defensive side (and maybe that is because he isn't a good defender lol) but I have a firm belief that he will become a better player under the right coaching staff. I think we have that coaching staff. Monroe's best days are ahead of him and I'd really love it if he is in a Hawks uniform during those days.
