  1. Well at least ours is better than the Eagles/76ers one lol.
  2. As everyone else has said, we'd be a pretty good defensive team just by simply having DMC, Thabo, and Deng. If we can't get an elite scorer like LeBron or Melo or other then we could at least neutralize them to an extent with defense. Quality defense means that our offense isn't going to have to be explosive all of the time. I like Dolf's idea about Noah lol. Highly doubt the Bulls have any interest whatsoever in moving him but man if we could pair him up with his buddy Al then woohoo! Lol.

    Who's Next?

My wish list in no order: Greg Monroe-Just turned 24 and is an offensive beast in the paint. Would be awesome to see what Bud could do with him. Jordan Hill-Good consolation prize to be a rotational big man if we miss out on Monroe. Also cheaper than Monroe. Lance Stephenson-Not even 24 yet and is an offensive machine. Prob some others that I can't even think of right now cause it's late. We've got 3 point shooting and our wing defense is getting better with the addition of Sefolosha (plus we have Carroll). I think we need another big who can be a legit threat down low next to Horford (Monroe) or a skilled SG or SF player like Stephenson (SG) who can shoot, slash, and create his own shot to help Teague. Though I don't know that Ferry will go for another wing right now. We'll see.
  4. Good solid signing! He's a role player who fits our system by playing defense and nailing the 3 ball. Yeah it's not LeBron James to the Hawks by my goodness there are toooooooooooo many crybabies in here! Atlanta sports fans are always constantly crying about acquisitions or something else. I like this deal a lot!
  5. From a basketball standpoint, of course I want Lance! Heck of a talented player who can shoot, slash, create his own shot, and is also a good passer. He's still young (turns 24 in early September) and would instantly be our starting SG. Would he be able to focus on just playing the game and not flirting with the opponent's best player though? Maybe, maybe not. He's still young though and if Ferry/Bud feel like they can get the best out of him then why not. I'd take the gamble on Lance.
  6. I'm on the Monroe train. He may need some work on defense (like other players in the NBA) but his offensive game is scary. He absolutely dominates inside the paint. Has a great post-up game and spin move that he uses to attack the rim with intensity. Another thing I noticed when watching him is that whenever he receives the ball inside the paint there is pretty much always two guys drawing in on him and usually a third guy as well, yet he still scores. Having 2-3 defenders draw in on Monroe in the paint means some wide open Hawks shooters! The other thing is that Monroe also hasn't really played under the greatest of coaching staffs; imagine the type of player he could become under our staff. Play him next to Horford and BAM the Hawks can beat a team from behind the arc or from close range.
  7. I give this draft an 8 overall. I absolutely love the direction that this team is going in terms of this year's draft and last year's draft as well. -Payne can stretch the floor, gives us size and rebounding, athleticism, and defense. I love Millsap and he's a heck of a player, but expect him to be gone after this year. Hopefully we can at least get a 1st rounder in next year's draft for 'Sap. -Tavares gives us yet another project BIG. Great rim protection, length, rebounding, and effective in the pick and roll. Between him and Nogueira we should have at least 1 legit center. -Patterson gives us an all around good shooting guard and small forward if we play small ball (kind of hard too now that we're adding some big folks) who can shoot the ball, has good passing instincts, isn't a selfish player, and plays defense. I really liked Gary Harris and even considered him as one of my favorite Hawks' prospects. With Patterson we're getting a bigger and lengthier Gary Harris in terms of shooting ability and defense except Patterson is also a better passer than Harris. I would love to sign Patric Young being that he went undrafted. We still might need help at center assuming that Tavares will be overseas and while Nogueira develops. Young is a big athletic & energetic defender who could come in right away an take up some minutes at C while Nogueira still develops. Goodbye Pero and hello Patric is my wish. Al, the Florida Gator, probably wouldn't mind this move.
  8. Ah crap guys, I could've sworn that I posted this in the "Rate Our Draft" thread. My bad lol.

  10. The first reaction is a HS poster whenever they think they're about to spell a player's name correctly. The second reaction is you Dolf whenever you find a misspelled name.
  11. Well I guess we should just sell this team to True North Sports and let Winnipeg have another Atlanta franchise.
  12. Good point about the #25 pick possibly becoming more available. I'm right there with you about trying to pickup more picks.
  13. It's expected, unfortunately. The chances of Melo or LeBron becoming Hawks is extremely unlikey, not impossible, but against the odds that we prefer. Would absolutely go nuts if we landed a superstar but realistically it's not happening. CP3 and Howard last year and now Melo/LeBron this year. With that said; because we will most likely not land a superstar via free agency, I trust Bud and Ferry that they have a long term plan to build a contending team for not just a few years but for a long long long time.
  14. Napier looks like he'll be a pretty good PG in the league. Watching UCONN on it's most recent championship run and both Napier and Ryan Boatright (I don't think Boatright is in this draft) impressed me a lot. Only way I take Napier is if one of our point guards is traded and we have multiple 1st round picks. Wonder what it would take to get a couple of the Suns' picks or the Bulls'.
  15. Personally I want at least 2 first rounders in this draft but then again I usually want multiple picks in a particular round of any draft whether it be NFL or NBA lol. I like Millsap but I would consider trading him for the #7 if that meant getting either Vonleh or Randle (assuming Randle's injury isn't an issue). Lakers would probably want a little more than just Millsap. I'm definitely interested in the Suns' and Bulls' picks because I think that there will be some great team players at 14, 16, 18, 19, 27.
  16. Personally I would rather have LeBron without Melo because we wouldn't "gut" as much of our roster.
  17. Maaaaaaaaan all of this suspense about the offseason in general has me wanting answers! It's a pipe dream but say if LeBron came to the Hawks without Melo, then who is no longer a Hawk? Who is no longer a Hawk with both LeBron and Melo?
  18. True. Dennis was my original thought as to which of the two is more likely to be traded. You bring up good points.
  19. All this OKC talk and all I'm going to say is that I bet the Thunder sure do miss Harden if they need a SG lol.
  20. Ya never know! I've felt that one of Teague or Schröeder will be moved and I used to think it'd most likely be Schröeder. Now I'm starting to think that it could be Teague. -Teague just turned 26 earlier this month and Schröeder turns 21 in September. Schröeder is more of the "in the long run" player because he is 5 years younger than Teague. -Teague was almost not even re-signed by the Hawks last off-season and maybe that's because Bud/Ferry didn't think Teague was his PG "of the future" but didn't want to lose him in free agency. -On the contrary to Teague almost not being re-signed, Schröeder was drafted by the Ferry/Bud Hawks. -Teague is a leftover of the Woodson/Sund Hawks whereas Schröeder is a Bud/Ferry Hawks draft pick. -No more Joe after the 2012 off-season, no more Smoove after the 2013 off-season, is Teague next? Definitely wouldn't be surprised to see Teague moved anytime soon. Seems like Ferry/Bud do have a vision for the Hawks and are here for the long haul. Moving Teague for another pick(s) to get more Ferry/Bud Hawks seems ideal. Who knows? Maybe we see another key player, not just Teague, moved for more draft ammunition. We'd be getting a lot younger and less experienced but the start of a 'dynasty' in Atlanta could be taking place before our eyes. "Big things have small beginnings," so even if we do take a step back next year by getting younger then that's fine with me as long as it means we're building a team to compete for the next decade. Just pure speculation at this point!
  21. So if Teague is traded, what/who do you think the Hawks are aiming to get in return? The week of draft day is always interesting and makes you anticipate the draft even more!
  22. I got to thinking about Jenkins the other day. Like you said, he wasn't bad his rookie year and his resting time last year should help him in year 3. Light's out shooter and he only just turned 23 back in March. Really hope that he pans out and contributes for the Hawks.
  23. (With Nurkic included) 1. TJ Warren 2. Gary Harris 3. Jusuf Nurkic 4. Rodney Hood 5. Zach LaVine 6. James Young 7. Kyle Anderson 8. Adreian Payne 9. Nik Stauskas 10. Doug McDermott Kyle Anderson would be higher if I knew we had 2 first rounders. We don't need him playing point guard but as a small forward of some sort I think he'd be great if he can learn to be more physical. LaVine is a guy who I think, like a lot of other people also think, can be huge boom or bust. LaVine is very raw right now and has loads of athleticism & talent but can he put it all together? We'll see in a few years.
