You wonder of NJ can recruit someone to take on Duhon, Richardson, or Hedo (or all) with picks (like teams with trade exceptions). Ditching those 3 is worth more to Orlando than 3 picks.

We have a full roster right now. All that appears left is to use the MLE and we really need a starter for SG/SF out of that move. Although it would be hilarious to offer Humphries the MLE and put NJ on the spot.

If the Bosnian takes the mini MLE they can fill out the roster with vet minimums. If they did the $5 mil, they will need to sign rookies only.

It is my understanding that they CAN sign Howard. It is barely, and they have to get weird to get there. With Williams, Joe, Howard, and Wallace on big deals and Evans and the Bosnian guy on the MLE and biannual exceptions, assuming Lopez, Brooks, and Humphries are signed/traded in 2 deals and everyone is signed in the perfect order, Brooklyn can sign 7 rookie minimum players to fill out then roster. Howard could cut them a deal for 2013 and beyond and perhaps they can fill out the roster more in coming years. This is far more dramatic a move tha what the Heat did, b/c all 3 would make more than any of the Heat's big 3.

Odds are they make the playoffs as a 7-8 at least once in 3 years.

This was one step above the amnesty ideas that took hold here. One year with Harris and some trash bench players and a 1st rounder for ridding the team of garbage contracts. Call it repentance. These trades can only be evaluated 2 years out. Do we end up resigning Harris and overpaying for a scrub to put with Smith/Horford?Do we end up with CP3 or Dwight? Do we keep the draft pick?

Exactly. I used Barea and Johnson instead. We'd be doing it for a time sharing PG, a youngster, a roster filller, and financial flexibility. This would have worked better BEFORE the draft because perhaps we could have picked up Hummell or another 1st round rookie throwing in our second or a future 1.

If the Wolves are all about trading Williams to get Gasol (per espn), and the Lakers like Smoove, then maybe we should become Williams fans. We would get smaller and less physical, but younger and with potential. There would have to be a lot more action in that one since we would need to take on 10 mil or so and the Lakers 5-6. We could get a couple of other players and a pick in the end.
