  1. Looks like Jordan Hill is gone too. =(
  2. Drake is probably claiming Cleveland already. "They Canadian like me!"
  3. The way he plays now, Wade is worth about $6-8 million a year. You think he's taking that kind of contract? Yeah, I didn't think so either.
  4. I'm not a Dwight hater by any stretch but my lord that guy whines SO MUCH about his offensive touches. We're only one season into the Dwight Howard-James Haren (please, no D) experience and he has already been whining about not getting the ball enough.
  5. No disrespect to you, Diesel, but you really want to go by what Shaq says when determining who the best coaches are? The same Shaq that takes shots at anybody and everybody on his way out the door?
  6. You have SVG way too low. He's no lower than #3.
  7. Glad you mention Channing Frye because Pero plays like a Channing Frye clone. I've also been on the Jordan Hill bandwagon for awhile now. I'm just saying there's no reason to crap on Pero. If we got Hill he'd be our 3rd string C but he'd also be the best 3rd string C in the league, by far.
  8. That guy you're calling a bum was on the short list for rookie of the year honors for most of the season.
  9. It's all about strength. He's not strong enough. Could happen one day I suppose but it would probably be a mistake at this point in time.
  10. It's too early in his career to say definitively what is or isn't his game.
  11. He has a VERY small sample size but amongst qualified players (>= 41 games played, >= 5 pts/48mins) last season he was behind only LeBron on FG% on drives. That's... something?
  12. Jarrett Jack didn't do much of anything at all in Cleveland but he was pretty dope in Toronto (most of the time), New Orleans, and Golden State. Not to mention he was a stud at GT. So going forward is he what he was in Cleveland? Or was that just a fluke/a sign of how bad Cleveland was? I think he would be an excellent backup PG for just about any team, but if we're taking on Jarrett Jack then one of two things needs to happen first: A) We give up completely on Schröder. You can't bring another backup PG in if you expect to continue developing this guy. I don't like this plan. -OR- B) We trade away Teague for a 1st and push up the timeline for Schröder becoming our starter. If I had to choose between A and B I would definitely go for B, but I think the better plan (as much as it pains me to say it) is to just stay away from Jarrett Jack.
  13. Am I the only person on Hawksquawk that wants a rim protector instead of ANOTHER offensive player at center? Offense is not our problem, and that's all Greg Monroe is good for.
  14. No doubt, but it's not always about best player. Sometimes about filling needs. I don't know if I'd be happy with Monroe as our starting center, since what I want is a rim protector and he's not so hot on defense. But you could probably sell me on a non-all-star level C over Millsap if that guy is an excellent defender and a half-decent scorer.
  15. You're right, technically speaking we CAN afford it at the moment given that we have double-digit cap space. What I meant was that I'm not sure it would be wise to give up $8m of our cap for a backup center. Now, if he was going to be a starting center that might be different because $8m is not bad at all for a starter. The issue with that though is that we have no evidence that he can play starter's minutes. The most minutes per game he ever played was last season and that was only 21 mpg. Given his style of play I don't know if his body would hold up playing 32+ mpg. Then again, given the preposterous amount of 4s and 5s we have on the roster at the moment, maybe Coach Bud could work out a rotation that keeps his minutes under 30 per game. Now if only he could figure out how to do something like that. I wonder if there's another team in the league known for keeping their starters' minutes under 30 per game that Coach Bud could look to for guidance. Hmmmmmmmm...
  16. I'd LOVE Jordan Hill as a backup center. That would probably be my favorite signing so far for ANY team. He's fantastic offensively and at least serviceable defensively. Problem is he's probably going to get offered around $8m per, and I don't think we can afford to commit that much to him.
  17. We're really getting into the weeds at this point, but the Wizards were definitely better than their record showed last year. They spent huge chunks of the season without the services of Gortat and Nene. As soon as they got them both back and both healthy, they became a monster. Well, at least a monster by Eastern Conference standards.
  18. Care to enlighten us on where all this money is coming from? Did you trade Millsap for Monroe?
  19. Are you sure you copy and pasted that right, Dolf? Because I'm pretty sure that I read elsewhere that signing Sefolosha effectively ended the franchise.
  20. What is this, perspective on a message board?! Get outta here with that junk!!
