  1. OO has the Al Horford skill set, not the Dwight Howard skill set. Let’s not rehash the Al Horford stretch 5/ or is he a 4 argument. I’d like to see OO develop a jumpshot and stay slim for a 4 spot long term. He could get bullied to death against Gobert or Embiid in the East.
  2. Many twitter stans of JC will need to prepare themselves in their safe zone in case things go sideways for them.
  3. Draft night going to be interesting if Schlenk has a framework in place for #4 and Ivey is there. I'm sure it is based on maybe Collins + 16 + the CHA 2023 first (overpay with that because I'd rather us send a pair of 2nds). I'm sure they will have to wait until July 1st for a DA trade if that is the route they want. For Gobert, he brings the defensive upgrade we need but I'm sure it comes down to Ainge deciding if the Chicago deal is the best they can get or if the Hawks deal is it. I have no doubt the Hawks have discussed these scenarios with these teams and set their offer/frameworks.. it's just a matter of if Ivey is there at 4 and if Ainge can't get Chicago to add more.
  4. I would LOVE to get Ivey. Seems like a real challenge to get there though. dude will be a star.
  5. And now is about the time when every upgrade out there starts fizzling away from the Hawks grasp. It may be true that there aren’t many upgrades from JC but we really need to address our backcourt issues. Capelas health moving forward drives my quest to see them upgrade center to either a KAT/Ayton or Gobert. Lest I remind everyone lurking this board about our abysmal defense.
  6. Nice rumor... I see the account Landon Buford and all I can think is fan account
  7. It’s a cloud of haze and I think Minny and Sacramento must be 3rd teams somehow or somebody someway is just throwing stuff against the wall from their side (Minn, Sac).
  8. A top tier defender like Draymond (that can also stay healthy) paired with Trae (who stays relatively healthy) can go a long way towards a championship. Gobert seems to be the best option available to be our Draymond so here's to hoping Ainge is slipping in his old age.
  9. You don't understand BYC and the premise behind it. The third team takes the difference in player comp due to BYC. That is the whole reasoning behind it to prevent teams from loop-holing the cap. Since Phoenix sends only $19m out they can only take $19m back but we are taking in 31m so we have to send out 31m. The 3rd team takes the $12m. We are not increasing our salaries! We send out 31m in salaries and take-in 31m in salaries, waive and stretch Gallo, we will be NO-where near the tax apron (6 million OVER the tax line). You REALLY think Ressler is paying tax on 6m in salaries without consolidating our existing roster? Just because the apron is a thing doesn't mean the Hawks have ever even approached it. Besides hard capping in 2 years with Ayton, Trae and maybe SGA or Donovan is better than playing the I don't want to pay tax line we've been doing. Don't be afraid to tiptoe the hard cap or tax or else you may as well be OKC eternally selling players for future picks.
  10. Let me make it simple.. it must be a 3 or 4 team trade or two separate but immediate trades: Suns: Ayton $15.7 out, Capela $19m in (not sure if they need to ship out 3-4m in salary to 3rd or 4th team - Haven’t looked at that aspect yet) Atlanta: Capela $19m out, $12m+ to 3rd team (OR 1-2 players to the 3rd or 4th team.. the teams absorbing salary to facilitate). 3rd Team: $12m player in, TPE with Draft picks to Hawks They can add a 4th team to take additional Suns salary going out (Saric, Shamet) in exchange for picks + TPE.
  11. Once again you have to ship out an additional $12m on the Ayton deal
  12. Yes thank you again for that but the Hawks have to ship out the new salary amount! A third team gets one of our 12m+ salary guys for TPE or a pick!
  13. Why does everyone always think that we can ship out just Capela for an Ayton SNT? Go read up on the cap rules.
  14. He got what he and the fan base wanted. I sincerely doubt even you thought he would play so poorly after the trade. No matter what you think, James Harden the player is still an all-star and a top tier player.
  15. So Golden State guys were 25-25-27 years old when they won in 2015. Based on your aging logic? We going to get a championship next year or the year after?
  16. I’m okay with Brogdon but he can’t be the only change because that is too easy of a trade. I really want to see this front office challenges like Morey does when becomes a deman-da.
  17. If we strike out on any upgrades and just run it back I’ll be severely disappointed in the front office. I know some of you all think that Capela, Huerter, Bogi and Collins have championship potential in them playing together, but I don’t.
  18. I was just reading about the limit of 2 Designated Rookie Scale Player Extension players per team. Hypothetically, the Hawks can sign Ayton SNT and also acquire another rookie scale max extension player (SGA, Donovan) because the contract of Ayton will no longer be a Designated Player at 5 year max contract. It would simply be a max contract at 4 years. The Ayton situation is unique in that respect. Can anyone confirm this? https://cbabreakdown.com/contract-types#:~:text=is discussed here.-,No team may have more than two players under a,be acquired through a trade. https://cbabreakdown.com/free-agency/#qualifying-veteran-free-agent https://www.spotrac.com/research/nba/deandre-aytons-next-contract-1452/
  19. Not worried about it. It’s a player driven league anyway. Coaches are always overrated and blamed.
  20. I’m disappointed at Marc Stein repackaging Jake Fischer rumors with confirmation. Based on that the only source must be Lavines agent.
  21. Yes because of the outgoing salary matching. Capela to Phoenix, Collins to Chicago, the others.. meant Huerter and Bogi to 3rd teams. Gallo waived and maybe resign for TMLE.
  22. In: DeAndre Ayton LaVine Out: Collins Bogi Capela Gallo Resign: Delon Summary: Cap gymnastics for both SNT but I don’t believe the LaVine recent smoke about him loving to stay in Chicago. Once free agency hits and Ayton decides on Atlanta then Lavine forces his way too big 3 style. Granted we have to wait until June 30-July 1 for this action.
  23. I’m hoping for at least one NBA trade on Monday. It’s getting dry out there.
  24. Compare the two defensive ratings by team year from the start of the Curry years. https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/GSW/ https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/ATL/ Hawks need to get a good Defensive rating before they gonna come close. That is why we need to trade.. I don't see John getting a longer wingspan, Huerter becoming a defensive stopper, Bogi improving or Gallo improving on defense. Capela is just a big trade chip.
