  1. 1.2 blocks in 36 minutes per game is pretty average. He was tied for 16th in blocks per game in the playoffs and only 5 of the players ahead of him played more minutes per game. He dips in to the 20's if you go by per/36.

I'm listening to Brother Ali's album 'Us' this morning.
  3. Thompson is still mediocre. He's a good rebounder and an average defender who offers no rim protection. He has no offensive skill outside of rebounding.

Love me some Big KRIT. I would say his mixtapes are much better than his albums though. 'Krit Wuz Here' and 'Return of 4eva' are classics.
  5. I had originally typed something similar to this and decided to go with the more direct approach. Both are equally good points. Splitter's contract is perfect for our needs.
  6. Splitter is making 8.5 million and Demarre is making 15. How do you figure that we can just swap one for the other under the cap rules?

Give Freddie Gibbs album 'Pinata' a try. Possibly my favorite album from last year ad it's more street than the stuff I have been posting. Madlib produced the entire album and you can play it from start to finish without skipping a track.

@Ruckus another one of my faves with good instrumentation is Atmosphere. His album 'When Life Gives you Lemons, you Paint that Shit Gold' is a classic imo. I'm going out to Colorado to see him and Brother Ali perform at Red Rocks on August 28th. The way he wraps this whole song up with the twist at the end is crazy. The definition of story-telling right here.

I agree with you about Pac. His greatest hits album was pumping through my ears before every high school basketball game. I can't get down with your new school list though. Yikes.

FlyLo some. I haven't listened to much of Doom or Aesop Rock but I have heard nothing but great things about them. I need to get on it one day.

@Ruckus you would probably also love Nujabes. He's a producer from Japan that has passed away but he has a pretty epic catalog.

I think you would enjoy Oddisee's work. He does his own production and uses live instruments a lot. His lyrics have depth and paint pictures. I have posted a few of his songs in the never ending music thread. I will post a couple more here. I would check out his albums 'The Good Fight' and 'Tangible Dream' if you like what you hear. He will be performing at the Masquerade on October 18th. Come join me and show this talented man some love.

Some of Kendrick's qualities are very similar to Pac and I LOVE Pac. If you want to talk about something that will never be repeated, look at Atlanta's own Outkast.

The only people who think new school rap is dead are the people who haven't looked in the right places. Rap is in as good of a place that it ever has been, you just have to look a little harder to find the good stuff since you won't hear it on the radio.
  16. Maybe we could each give a summary of our team's strengths, weaknesses and style of play. Then every one could give their top 5 teams for next year and then their top 5 for 4-5 years from now. If folks are interested, lets wait until after LW3 blesses us with the teams and stat summaries before we begin.
  17. I just booked a trip to Red Rocks in Denver at the end of the month to see Brother Ali and Atmosphere.
  18. 50 is our floor unless we have bad luck with injuries.
  19. and who comes off the bench if you start Millsap/Horford/Splitter? The rest of our bench bigs are Muscala and Tavares now that Scott has screwed up. Cliffs: Our frontcourt isn't deep enough to play Millsap/Horford/Splitter together.
  20. With my final pick, I am going with another versatile PF/C that can score in and out. He shot 36.8% from 3 on 2 attempts per game last year. His combo of pumpfakes, up and unders and an ambidextrous hook shot make him one of the better low post scorers in the league. With crafty passing and a quick first step, he works great out of the high post and in the pick and roll. He is no slouch on defense either. This 24 year old 7 footer will be a welcome addition to our frontcourt. We select Donatas Motiejunas PG: George Hill, Isaiah Thomas, D'Angelo Russell SG: Paul George, Nic Batum, Anthony Morrow SF: Carmelo Anthony, Michael-Kidd Gilchrist PF: Nerlens Noel, Danillo Gallinari, Donatas Motiejunas C: Demarcus Cousins, Jusuf Nurkic Headcoach: Stan Van Gundy @Spud2Nique is on the clock.
  21. Good work Mule. 55 years is a whole lot of years!
  22. @jy23 will still have 1 pick left. pick #191 Don't forget about the pick summary thread. It's pretty easy to see the order of the draft and what remains with a 5 second look at the thread. http://hawksquawk.net/community/topic/409696-2015-dynasty-draft-pick-summary/
  23. I have a bunch of solid 3 pt shooters but I am still missing that elite 3 pt shooter that will force his defender to face guard him. This guy has transformed himself in to one of the deadliest shooters in the game over the past 2 seasons. With his quick, high release, he can get a shot off in no time. He made 43.4% of his 3's last season while posting a .151 ws/48. He finished the year on a tear and shot 50% from 3 on 4.8 attempts per game over the last 3 months of the season. We select Anthony Morrow PG: George Hill, Isaiah Thomas, D'Angelo Russell SG: Paul George, Nic Batum, Anthony Morrow SF: Carmelo Anthony, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist PF: Nerlens Noel, Danillo Gallinari C: Demarcus Cousins, Jusuf Nurkic Coach: Stan Van Gundy @ATLHawks3 is up next
