  1. I hate to say it but the Hawks have never brought in a big time free agent. To think LeBron would be the first is wishful thinking, and that's putting it nicely.
  2. It must be a bot created by the Mods here to keep all of these threads active. That's the only explanation. LOL
  3. He left in the first place because he didn't have enough help around him to win. Once he left, they were able to acquire top picks. Once they had those assets, Lebron knew he could go back and actually have a chance to win. I know this. You know this. Everyone knows this.
  4. LeBron doesn't go back to Cleveland if they weren't on the lottery treadmill in the first place. If they still had Mo Williams and Varejao as their stars instead of tanking for top picks you think Lebron would have went back? LMFAO!!!
  5. SO WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT? USE YOUR TIME MACHINE??? WE GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the dream scenario no doubt!! Would love to see a GSW - OKC 2/7 matchup as well. Lots of drama in that potential series.

Like I said 20 minutes ago, they wouldn't be clinging to anything if their star player didn't get injured. You're so obviously biased it's why nobody is taking your opinions seriously anymore.

Do you know how they acquired the All Star Jimmy Butler? 3 Lottery picks. Millsap's line last night? 3/12 FGA (25%) 0/3 3PT (0%) 12 pts 7 rbs 2 TO 1 ast. If anything he is the reason the T'Wolves were even in the game last night without their All star.

If Butler hadn't gotten injured they would be the 3 seed Einstein.

So you're a Millsap fan more than you are a Hawks fan - got it. Go to their message board, I think everyone (including you) will be happier.

This guy claims to be a Hawks fan while rooting for us not to get additional talent just so he can prove that he is "right" to a bunch of strangers on the internet. Find some new hobbies dude you must be miserable.
  13. Yeah I can - OKC. Read my other post about the history of Atlanta sports and you'll understand why most of us would rather try for something different then stay on the mediocre treadmill. If your life revolves around Hawks basketball, I can see why you're so upset since these games can't be fun to watch. Personally, I enjoy lots of other things in life and am willing to sacrifice not making the playoffs in order to have a better chance at the championship down the road.

Everyone knows all of the current star players in the NBA sat on the bench their first year or two to learn the game!
  15. Either way, whether we use the picks to draft young talent or trade for a veteran - there is nothing you can do to change it. It is what it is. Most of us try to look at the bright side. But keep bitching in every thread, I'm sure if you post about it enough on the internet things will change.
  16. You do realize we can use these 1st round picks to trade for a veteran player, right? Hint: that's what the Celtics did.
  17. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005–06_Boston_Celtics_season https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006–07_Boston_Celtics_season https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007–08_Boston_Celtics_season Wanna know how they won the championship in 08? Losing and acquiring draft picks in order to get top talent. This is basketball, by the way. I can find countless more examples in all sports if you want.
  18. If losing in the short term gets you closer to championship contention in the long-term, it's worth it. Listen, Atlanta sports has had ONE championship EVER. We have experienced countless seasons of being just competitive enough only to get embarrassed when it actually matters. People are tired of seeing it, which is why people don't mind the idea of losing in the short term in order to acquire the talent needed to win BIG. Not just be competitive, nobody in Atlanta wants a "competitive" team. It's not hard to understand, especially when you consider the history of this city.
  19. So you're the participation trophy type. Everyone is a winner as long as you compete hard and try your best to win. Well guess what, most people aren't satisfied with that. It's a losers mentality.
  20. Your definition of "great run of success" is a lot different then mine. I want to compete for championships, not get swept out of the playoffs by a clearly better team each season with no hope of actually going to the Finals. Sports is about winning championships, and we haven't ever been close.
  21. You act like we've had years of success that we are turning away from. We've been in contention once in the past 30 years and we got flat out embarrassed that season anyway. Many fans are more excited at the possibility of injecting this team with young talent instead of watching that baby Dwight and Old man Millsap. That's just reality, and there's nothing you can do to change it at this point. You can't turn back time. What do you propose? Let's go protest outside Philips and demand they stop tanking!!!
  22. Ever heard of the definition on insanity? Trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results?
  23. Clearly the post was not being serious, it was used to prove a point. I just tried to step my game up to be as outlandish as some of the posters on here GUARANTEEING we won't compete for 10 years and other ridiculous crap.
  24. Don't be dense, it has everything to do with that. Why would we keep doing the same thing we've been doing the past 10 years just to see us barely make the playoffs with an old roster? Were we on a championship path? Hell no. So we had to try something else - which is why we are where we are now.
