Well only time will tell. Detroit is now 10 million under the cap. Who are you going to choose Detroit or Atlanta. Phoenix is as well who are you going to choose Atlanta or Phoenix(more promising future at least right now)? Denver or Atlanta? I will give the edge to Atlanta over Chicago and Utah. But that's it. There isn't even a deep free agent market this year. So I guess we are going to tank again next year for another pick and more cap space. But, we will see what happens. P

Just like everyone that likes this latest deal and is happy with all those precious draft picks. You don't know what that will get us. It may work and may not But, you also will never know what Wallace could have done for us(playing wise and attracting better players) or what he could have gotten us in a sign and trade. So I don't think it is fair to slam someone that would want to keep Wallace. I hope we could agree on that logic. P

How do you know it is a weak position Reject? Evidently you aren't getting the mean of my statment. By giving away Wallace ($5) without the candy bar. That just means we are going to lose. I still thought this team had a chance to make the playoffs with Wallace. I don't argue with the first two trades. You could have kept Wallace for a sign and trade or better yet possiblly resign him or he walks. But, I have posted this time and time again since the trade. I have stated six to eight reasons of why it was better to keep Wallace then to gamble on draft picks. So thats why I don't give a F about a stupid candy bar. Hopefully you can understand that philosophy. It's a lot deeper than just adding a candy bar to $5. Let's do a little thinking before respond. Thank you. At least read my other post. Evidently second to third rate free agents excites a lot of people on this site. P

Someone on this great site of ours tell us these big free agents that are going to sign with the Hawks and why they would want to be part of a rebuilding project. Please give me an answer and maybe I can see some validity to this latest trade. Like I have said many times the first two trades I'm okay with. I just think they should have held onto Wallace. That's a person to build a team around. Even if he left we would be in the same boat now. With the 18th pick. I forgot how valuable that is. Maybe that is a reason one of these free agents will sign with us. P

Rumor has it that after Knight takes Stotts job. During timeouts he will put on the Harry the Hawk outfit to save more of that precious cap space. That of course won't attract any free agents. Wait a minute I have an idea with all the cap space, maybe they can pay the fans to show up. P

Like Dolfan I thought I would never be on the same page as Hots. But as you have seen from our posts nothing is going to happen with these picks. And no free agent is going to sign here. I was for the first two trades. But they should have kept Wallace. And don't give me this well we weren't going anywhere with Wallace. How do we know? We never got to see it and the one game I did see it. I liked how we played. Who cares if he walks in the summer we still have cap space and our picks(Atl and Philly). You think Detroit cares if he walks. No. They still won't win the East with him anyways. P

You are not getting an arguement from me on the first two trades. I just don't approve of the trade with Wallace. No matter what anyone says. You mine as well call the NBA and say is there anyway we can forfeit the rest of our games. To me that isn't something to get excited about. Also, like I have stated till exhaustion by throwing away this season with this last trade nothing positive is going to happen with our cap space, because no one will come here. You better hope these lovely draft picks everyone oh so loves pans out. I really hope I'm wrong. But, I'm sick to my stomach right now. The only problem with that is that we are drafting last years draft class. By the way I will go on the record and say I didn't say last years draft class was bad. I usually have no comment on the draft. Because it is a crap shoot. P

I hope you are young, because you might not be around to enjoy it. I have no problems with the first two trades. It's the Wallace trade that ticks me off. P

No the real question will be is it in any of our lifetimes. P

Hey I'm right there with you. I hope as well. But, I'm guessing it doesn't make a damn bit a difference. Look at the past three to four years with teams with cap room. They don't get anybody. The only team this proved successful for was the Orlando Magic. With G. Hill and TMac. P

I didn't know 1 game made a career. But, I guess in this case it does. Can't argue with that. But, I like what I saw from this team last night. I would have liked to see it for the rest of the year. Even if we didn't make the playoffs, guess what we will still be in the same position. But, now we will never know. At least we got a late 1st round pick. Let's quit saying mid-first round. Because it isn't. Milwaukee is 18 and climbing. Not sinking. I don't think it will get lower than 17. P

Well said. People asking why keep Wallace who cares if we win five more games. This is where I disagee and I am probablly in a minority in this arguement. I think with Wallace we would have made the playoffs. Go ahead and laugh. But, the fact is the East sucks Boston, Philly are going backwards they are going to keep losing. The only team we would have to worry about is Cleveland who only is two game ahead of us. Even if we get swept in the 1st round. It would bring some credibility back to this team. I thought if we made the playoffs we would still have our first and plenty of money to go after free agents. This team would look a lot more attractive with a recent playoff appearance, our first round pick(Philly's in the future), new coach, new ownership, city of Atlanta and cap space. Not to mention we could trade JT in the offseason for more capspace. Also, CC and Hendu will be coming off the books in 2005 for more space. That with a team that made the playoffs would be sexy to potential free agents. I have already established in other posts my feelings on the draft. It's a crap shoot no matter where you pick. I'd rather get established NBA players. They would come if the above took place. But, now there is no chance and we have to rely on the crap shoot to get us good. Well, the draft isn't going to turn it around for us. We will end up like the Bulls. Now what good will the cap space do. No one will sign with us, so we will overpay for marginal free agents. P

As long as you are happy thats all that matters. I hope the Hawks do well over the next few years. If they don't and this fails. Well Whoopie Doo. I guess we all should be use to those comments we are Hawks fans. Maybe I will eat crow on this one. But, I doubt it. P

Because now a days in the NBA there is no guarantees in the draft. No matter where you pick. With high schoolers, foreign players and the college kids. Who knows who is better than who. It's not like the 80's and through most of the 90's. Where I could agree with you more on having a high 1st round pick. You pretty much were going to get a solid player. Now a days you just don't know. You could have the best player at pick 23 instead of pick 1. The draft isn't an exact science anymore. You just go with what people say about high schoolers and foreiners. Then you try to compare that to the college guys. I would much rather have a reliable player that has already established themselves in the NBA. The beauty is we have cap room to get those types. But, no one will sign here. We are going to be like the Bulls, Clippers, name any bad franchise. P

I didn't know Felton and Warrick were solid. I think the draft is a crap shoot. Yes, your chances increase with the higher pick or you look like a fool with a higher pick when they don't pan out. Look at the Bulls for example. P

Because I want this franchise to win. And with Wallace we would be in the same position that we are now. There are no guarantees we are going to get a top player in the draft. Also, do you think Knight knows who that player is? I don't. The only thing you can hope for is Kobe to come this summer or TMAC in 2005. But, guess what TMac isn't going to leave Orlando to come here. As bad as Orlando is Atlanta is worse so why would he come here. P

Yeah granola cereal with milk But when you see this rebuilding process go in the S#!@, because we have the label of a losing franchise that can't or get star players as well as draft anybody worth a D@#$ Then you can repeat to me the scenarios again that I don't get Don't get me wrong, I hope you guys are right. There is no guarantees we will get squat with Wallace either. Time will tell.
