  1. Like Dolfan I thought I would never be on the same page as Hots. But as you have seen from our posts nothing is going to happen with these picks. And no free agent is going to sign here. I was for the first two trades. But they should have kept Wallace. And don't give me this well we weren't going anywhere with Wallace. How do we know? We never got to see it and the one game I did see it. I liked how we played. Who cares if he walks in the summer we still have cap space and our picks(Atl and Philly). You think Detroit cares if he walks. No. They still won't win the East with him anyways. P
  2. That's great Hot! I agree exactly Knight cuts Stotts and becomes coach. Get ready for some long seasons/decades/centuries with this squad. P
  3. You are not getting an arguement from me on the first two trades. I just don't approve of the trade with Wallace. No matter what anyone says. You mine as well call the NBA and say is there anyway we can forfeit the rest of our games. To me that isn't something to get excited about. Also, like I have stated till exhaustion by throwing away this season with this last trade nothing positive is going to happen with our cap space, because no one will come here. You better hope these lovely draft picks everyone oh so loves pans out. I really hope I'm wrong. But, I'm sick to my stomach right now. I can't even think about watching another Hawks game this year or any NBA game for that matter. What a F'n joke. This is the wrong way to do things. Tell your fans hey we are going to suck. But we got draft picks and cap space. No one will sign that can make a difference. Maybe we land a good guy in the draft. Just to watch him walk after three to four years. Because he doesn't want to be on a losing team. What people on this board don't understand is losing breeds losing. Rookies will get this feeling far too often to have it corrected. Like we are seeing with the Bulls right now. Let's hope I'm wrong. P
  4. The only problem with that is that we are drafting last years draft class. By the way I will go on the record and say I didn't say last years draft class was bad. I usually have no comment on the draft. Because it is a crap shoot. P
  5. I hope you are young, because you might not be around to enjoy it. I have no problems with the first two trades. It's the Wallace trade that ticks me off. P
  6. No the real question will be is it in any of our lifetimes. P
  7. And I will be more than happy to eat crow on this. If that is the case. P
  8. Hey I'm right there with you. I hope as well. But, I'm guessing it doesn't make a damn bit a difference. Look at the past three to four years with teams with cap room. They don't get anybody. The only team this proved successful for was the Orlando Magic. With G. Hill and TMac. P
  9. That is a LOL. Because that won't be happening. Get the noose ready. Anyways I'm not attached to anyone on this team. I just thought this team would be better with Wallace now we will never know. Look at my other post to see what I'm getting at with Wallace. P
  10. If we kept Wallace you still wouldn't have been seeing the same losers next year. That's the funny thing about your statement. P
  11. What's the cap space mean when no one will take it? No significant free agents will. Let's hope those draft picks pan out. P
  12. I didn't know 1 game made a career. But, I guess in this case it does. Can't argue with that. But, I like what I saw from this team last night. I would have liked to see it for the rest of the year. Even if we didn't make the playoffs, guess what we will still be in the same position. But, now we will never know. At least we got a late 1st round pick. Let's quit saying mid-first round. Because it isn't. Milwaukee is 18 and climbing. Not sinking. I don't think it will get lower than 17. P
  13. Well said. People asking why keep Wallace who cares if we win five more games. This is where I disagee and I am probablly in a minority in this arguement. I think with Wallace we would have made the playoffs. Go ahead and laugh. But, the fact is the East sucks Boston, Philly are going backwards they are going to keep losing. The only team we would have to worry about is Cleveland who only is two game ahead of us. Even if we get swept in the 1st round. It would bring some credibility back to this team. I thought if we made the playoffs we would still have our first and plenty of money to go after free agents. This team would look a lot more attractive with a recent playoff appearance, our first round pick(Philly's in the future), new coach, new ownership, city of Atlanta and cap space. Not to mention we could trade JT in the offseason for more capspace. Also, CC and Hendu will be coming off the books in 2005 for more space. That with a team that made the playoffs would be sexy to potential free agents. I have already established in other posts my feelings on the draft. It's a crap shoot no matter where you pick. I'd rather get established NBA players. They would come if the above took place. But, now there is no chance and we have to rely on the crap shoot to get us good. Well, the draft isn't going to turn it around for us. We will end up like the Bulls. Now what good will the cap space do. No one will sign with us, so we will overpay for marginal free agents. P
  14. As long as you are happy thats all that matters. I hope the Hawks do well over the next few years. If they don't and this fails. Well Whoopie Doo. I guess we all should be use to those comments we are Hawks fans. Maybe I will eat crow on this one. But, I doubt it. P
  15. Because now a days in the NBA there is no guarantees in the draft. No matter where you pick. With high schoolers, foreign players and the college kids. Who knows who is better than who. It's not like the 80's and through most of the 90's. Where I could agree with you more on having a high 1st round pick. You pretty much were going to get a solid player. Now a days you just don't know. You could have the best player at pick 23 instead of pick 1. The draft isn't an exact science anymore. You just go with what people say about high schoolers and foreiners. Then you try to compare that to the college guys. I would much rather have a reliable player that has already established themselves in the NBA. The beauty is we have cap room to get those types. But, no one will sign here. We are going to be like the Bulls, Clippers, name any bad franchise. P
  16. I didn't know Felton and Warrick were solid. I think the draft is a crap shoot. Yes, your chances increase with the higher pick or you look like a fool with a higher pick when they don't pan out. Look at the Bulls for example. P
  17. Because I want this franchise to win. And with Wallace we would be in the same position that we are now. There are no guarantees we are going to get a top player in the draft. Also, do you think Knight knows who that player is? I don't. The only thing you can hope for is Kobe to come this summer or TMAC in 2005. But, guess what TMac isn't going to leave Orlando to come here. As bad as Orlando is Atlanta is worse so why would he come here. P
  18. Yeah granola cereal with milk But when you see this rebuilding process go in the S#!@, because we have the label of a losing franchise that can't or get star players as well as draft anybody worth a D@#$ Then you can repeat to me the scenarios again that I don't get Don't get me wrong, I hope you guys are right. I just don't think you are though. P
  19. There is no guarantees we will get squat with Wallace either. Time will tell.
  20. Who are the quality players to build around? Our first round pick? I maybe can give you Diaw, but he isn't a player to build around. He is a role player that could develop into an above average starter. No one to build around. Your first round pick who do you put around him, another pick. The problem with rebuilding with draft picks they don't win. Look at the Chicago Bulls for proof. Did you go on their board and say they were a genius for clearing cap space and getting young guys to build around. No. Let's not bring up Hansen. He isn't anything special. Not to mention no one of any significance is going to sign here. You may get the average guy that thinks he is a star to sign. Which we will overpay for. But, it won't do anything to improve this organization. We will end up like the Bulls. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment for caring about this team. P
  21. Because that 18 to 22 pick they picked up is going to make a huge difference, Right? And there are no guarantees they are getting the #1 pick, and if they did how do you know this pick is going to turn the organization around. What if he is the next S. Bradley, K. Brown, etc.? But to some Hawk fans this was a good move. Time will tell. What you can't argue with is the fact that even with Wallace the team would be competitive. So what if he walked at the end of his contract we would be in the same situation we are in now. But at least we would have a little respect. Oh forgot we get Milwaukee's pick. Yippee. P
  22. Does it matter if he plays or not. Not to B. Knight. I think he would trade for 5 players in wheelchairs that were in the last year in their contract. P
  23. None of those guys can carry the Hawks for upcoming years, unless there was some superstar next to them. Otherwise, they are just going to contribute to the losing ways in Atlanta. P
  24. Maybe this team would be NIT eligible. The sad thing is this could probablly be said over the next couple of years as well. Knight better have some trick up his sleeve this off season. P
  25. It's also hard to rebuild a team when no one wants to come here because we tanked a season to try and get a lottery pick. Yes, money is attractive but come on the real superstars aren't going to just sign for the sake of money. Q. Rich or Crawford (Bulls) may sign but is that something that gets you excited? Not me. P
