  1. No worries. Keep pulling for the Hawks while you are focusing in on the Portland games. You will get a kick out Billy Knight's quotes on wanting to deal Reef to a championship contender. Let me know what you think. P
  2. http://www.nba.com/hawks/news/knight_trade...tes_040210.html Above is the link to Billy Knight's press conference this afternoon. Some interesting comments. It sounds like he is going to be around awhile. While some speculate he maybe out of the GM position after this year. I wish someone would have asked him if he plans on making any more moves before the deadline. P
  3. Did I ever say it was right? No. I didn't. I'm just saying that the new owners are trying to be pro-active. I will say this if they did somehow get Kobe and Iverson. They would certainly sell more tickets, get more national telecasts, get more attention, and bring more credibility to the organization. The move maybe an ultimate failure, but it would definitely put us back in the spotlight. P
  4. According to this article the new owners are gunning for a back court of Iverson and Kobe. Well at least they are going for some headlines and not sitting back on their heels. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/stor...marc&id=1731749 P

    Nazr to NY

Here is the link to the story http://www.nypost.com/sports/15494.htm P
  6. I know Reef was Playmaker's favorite player, but did he leave the forum now that Reef is gone. Hate to see you go Play if you did. I know the only reason you were on the site was because you were a Reef fan. But, you never know he could be back in Atlanta in a year and a half. Stranger things have happen. I wouldn't be surprised if it did. It's sad to see Reef and Ratliff go, but it is also exciting in many ways. This team finally is making moves to get ready for the future. We all know deep down inside this team wasn't going anywhere and something had to be done. This is just the first step. P

    Nazr to NY

It was reported by Vecsey in the Post that Nazr maybe going to NY in a three way deal. The Hawks would get R. White from Denver as well as Doleac from NY. The Knicks would get Nazr and Den would get Harrington from NY. He goes on to say Isiah has some sort of love affair with Nazr and he wants to get this deal done. Also, he was braging about he predict this trade with the Hawks and Blazers two weeks ago. P
  8. I will give it up where it is due. Reef played his A#@ off tonight. Even though the game started out like they were ready to get blown off the court. They made a great effort in the second half. Even Stotts made some good moves. P
  9. Didn't catch the game last night, I was enduring another loss in my softball league. But, I did catch the last 6 minutes. Enough for me to see the Hawks cut it to two and then fall flat on their faces. They looked very lethargic out there tonight. I would think they would have more energy when they were only down by 2 with 5 minutes left. I have to agree Play that Glover needs to go. I will give it up to Glover because he hustles and he tries. But, he just isn't smart! Attacking the basket on a 1 on 3. Doesn't hit the open man, because he wants to score. Let only he doesn't finish well. I was wondering where Diaw was at the end of the game. I thought he got hurt or fouled out. But, after hearing your comments I guess Stotts was being Stotts. Which means he doesn't know what he is doing. I just can't stand to see Glover play in crunch time. He usually fines ways to F it up. I would take Vaughn over Glover. Anyways after watching the last 6 minutes. I have come to a conclusion, which we all have by now. This team needs to be blown up. And this can't start until we get new ownership. Which who knows when this is going to happen. Our luck it will happen after the trading deadline. Then we have to trade players in the offseason. Hurry up and get Doc Rivers in here as a GM and coach. If that is what he wants. I know most of us agree that being both GM and coach usually doesn't work. But, really can doing both jobs be worst than what we have now. Hell, do anything but what we are doing now. P

    Nice Work

Great Job with the site! It looks great! I appreciate the work you guys put into this site. P
  11. I know about playing sports considering I played both b-ball and baseball in college. But, thanks for the reminder about losing. Also, I do watch all of the Hawks games. So don't insult me by saying I don't. Yes, the substitution pattern sucked. Get over it. Stop your pouting and the next time on the court do something. Instead of being pissed. Losing, that is just straight up BS of an excuse still. Yes, it wears on you but you need rise above it. And that falls on one person's shoulder and one alone. The player himself, in this case Reef. He needs to rise above the losing. That's what Captains do. As for KG, statistics can be misleading. Like I said before a lot of his points come from offensive put backs and loose balls. Add this with his regular shot attempts and he is going to get more attempts. Believe it or not sometimes stats don't tell the real story. Case in point, with Reef. He may average 2.5 turnovers a game, but how many times have we seen him hold to the ball to long and force up a shot instead of passing. I know you probablly never see that. I'm not going to argue with this philosophy. As Reef probablly feels that when he has the ball this is the best chance for the team to score. But, you still need to make the pass to the open man. I never said Reef wasn't the man. I'm not contradicting the fact that he isn't the man. But, this topic wasn't about blaming the other players, it was about Reef's poor play of late. But, at least you finally admitted that. We all already know that the other players on this team aren't that good and the coach is on his last days. This is about our team captain and him accepting responsibility for his poor game. Rise above it. P
  12. Your a professional even when you lose you should play hard. Look, I like Reef. I just hate when you always have excuses for his A@#. He played bad last night. Can't you say that. No you can't. You want to blame it the coach's substitution pattern and him not giving enough touches. Look I have already come out and said Reef is our best player. Just have some sac and admit he played a bad game without the excuses. That's all. As far as KG, I watch almost all his games(league pass & TWolves second fav team). He gets his points mostly off of rebounds, fast breaks and loose balls. He seldom has plays set up for him. As matter of fact he maybe the 3rd option behind Cassell and Spreewell. At least this is the case for KG this year. I didn't know Reef's TO stats for the year thanks for bringing that up. But, the fact is over the last three games I have seen him make numerous bad passes. Detroit, Phoenix and Portland. He just hasn't played well as of late. That is all I'm saying blame it on what you want. But, I appreciate fans that can admit when their teams or favorite players aren't playing well. Instead of making excuses for them. Thanks for the info on Theo being a Captain. I'm glad he is, he shold be. Too bad none of the players listen to him. I agree that there are a lot more problems with other players and Stotts. They aren't playing well. Reef doesn't look into playing and yes losing may have taken it's toll, but that still isn't an excuse. Guess what all the Hawks players are all stars, it's just that losing has taken a toll on them and they can't play well. I would never use that as an excuse. I'm not going to argue about the substitution pattern. You could be right. But, it still has nothing to do with the fact that when he went back into the game he didn't show up. I'm just saying come clean when the guy doesn't play well. I don't hate Reef and I don't want him to leave. And I will agree with you on most things regarding to Reef. I just can call him out when he plays bad. P
  13. Everyone is missing my point. I'm not going to argue that Reef isn't our best player. I'm not going to argue that Reef isn't a top forward in the league. What I'm pissed about is that everyone things he can do no wrong. Okay he took him out after he was 4/5 shooting with 10pts. Well he did absolutely nothing after that. Please give me your excuse now? This is my point. Reef is not as good as some think. Reef is not as bad as some think. But, the fact is I'm tired of people taking up space on this site sticking up for him on times he doesn't deserve it. This whole team is playing bad, every player is playing bad. I said that in my above response. Like I said my point is Reef isn't playing well either. You can candy coat it how you want. Great Reef played a wonderful 7 minutes to start the game. What did he do the rest of the game? Are you going to turnaround and blame the whole game on the coach, because he took him out too soon. Some of you will. Yes I know players get in a rhythm and you ride the hot hand. Well, guess what it didn't happen. Reef and his fans need to get over it and play good the next time you are in the game. Guess what he didn't. Blame whoever you want. But the fact is he didn't play good. P
  14. Please no more excuses for Reef. You always blame the coaches and players for his poor play. Except the last game against Phoenix. But, yet you still followed it up by blaming the coaches and players. Quit blowing smoke up his A#@. You know everyone is so quick to send Ratlif out of here. But, he is the only one playing with heart. He is the only one telling it like it is. Maybe he should be captain. If Reef showed this kind of intensity, maybe you wouldn't be on here blaming the coaches and players all the time. Rasheed dominated this guy last night. And don't tell me about Reef not getting enough touches, he does. Last night I watched a miss dunk, bad pass after bad pass and missed open looks. Not a captain like performance. If he is pissed with the players not getting him the ball be a captain and get in their faces and demand the ball. If he is pissed at the coach, tell him how you feel, like a captain would. Start acting like a captain. Does he pay you to make excuses for him? I like Reef, I really do. But he folds when it comes to playing good players and big games. Not that we have too many of those with the way the team sits right now. But, anytime we are trying to put a winning streak together or get over the hump. He isn't there. It's not to say I don't think he can do it, but he hasn't shown it. Please don't ever put him in the same level as some other forwards in this league. I read a post by Hotlanta yesterday saying that people on this site thought Reef was just as good if not better than Garnett. Are you people F'N kidding me? That is a joke. I can only assume this was you Play since you are the biggest Reef fan. This guy is no where near the player of KG. [censored], you can make a case Rasheed is better. He maybe a bad person, better ball player yes. Reef needs to be a man and work on his game. Especially passing. There was a play last night early in the 3rd quarter. Reef sets a high pick and roll with JT. JT passes it to Reef and fades to the 3 pt line in the corner. He is WIDE OPEN. But, Reef doesn't pass him the ball. He waits till the defender is on JT. Then he forces a pass and it's a turnover dunk. I see this too many times. Because Reef is selfish and wants to try to take his man off the drible. Instead of making the extra pass. When he does decide to pass it then becomes a turnover. Now there are plays like this in every game with every player. I'm just pointing this out as one of Reef's obivious flaws. If he is a captain he will work on his weakness. As a fan you should stop making excuses and realize he isn't playing well as a player. But, you will make excuses by blaming the coaches and players. Look I think this whole team is F'd. There is not one player that deserves more credit than the other. But, let's quit blaming every other guy or coach. Let's stand up for your own poor play. I don't mind you defending a guy when he deserves it. But as of late he doesn't deserve it. If you take off your Reef blinders you will see that. But, you can blame the coaches and players for his faults. You can demand a trade because it's everyones fault, but him. Let me help you out though. Everyone is too blame. Reef's S*(^ stinks as much as everyone elses does. Thinks won't get better until we get new ownership and the players and coaches have to make the best of it. It can't get any worse. P
  15. In case you didn't know on Friday night at 8pm. Dwight Howard's high school game will be broadcast on ESPN 2. This our chance to see this kid in action. I'm interested to see how much he dominates.

    Byron Scott

Byron Scott just got fired by the Nets according to ESPN. There is another candidate for the Hawks job next year. Go figure you fire Scott for taking you to the finals for two years in a row.
  17. Diesel, Since you love Lenny and the Knicks so much. And you are so confident they will when. I will take the 19 spread you are giving. Just tell me how much you want to bet. I'm saying the Hawks will win. But, come on the Knicks will not win by 19. Evidently you have seen this teams last 5 games. They have been in every game. I guess you think all of sudden they are going to get blown. Just name your bet. I will take the points. P
  18. This trade sucks for the Hawks. Is everybody out to help the Knicks. The only good thing is the Hawks get an expiring contract in Wallace. And he has been saying he wants to play in NY, Cle or Philly. So you know he won't be resigning with us. Frank Williams hasn't done anything as a pro. No draft picks in this deal as well. It seems we are giving away too much and getting too little in return. I think Reef and Nazr could get us more.
  19. I didn't know Sheed was a top 10 player. Maybe it will be another player. But I wouldn't be disappointed. I just think if the new owners think Sheed is a top 10 player they are sadly mistaken. He's good, just not a top 10. Heck he isn't even the best player on his current team.
  20. Here is an article from Peter Vecsey. It looks like the Knicks offered the same deal as for Marbury. But, they were trying to rape us in the end. Excerpt from Vecsey's Column: Several days before Stephon Marbury was acquired, Thomas presented the Hawks with a moderately similar offer they had no trouble rebuffing. According to an hospitable southerner, Atlanta was asked to relinquish Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Jason Terry and Chris Crawford for Antonio McDyess, Doleac, Charlie Ward, Michael Sweetney, New York's first round pick in '04 and the rights to Milos Vujanic. Oh, yeah, and the Hawks were supposed to release McDyess so the Knicks could re-sign him when he cleared waivers. Thomas refused to comment on the info except to say, "What's wrong with being greedy?" Had Thomas pulled off that caper, or somehow reaps Rashweed, his next assignment is to move Scott Layden's contract.
  21. The Suns also got two first round picks. NY's 2004 first round pick and a conditional first rounder in the years to come. I think this a good trade for Phoenix. Capspace and picks. As for NY I don't think it is going to make them that much better. They just get name recognition player in Marbury. Don't get me wrong Marbury is a stud. But, he isn't going to save that franchise. They will still have limited flexibility with the cap and no picks now. I like Isiah shaking things up, but in the end they may gain a few more wins. Just my opinion.

    If......

Listen Diesel I'm not saying you didn't research the dealings of the Magic. But you don't live in Orlando, I do. I have lived here for over 10 years. I hear every Magic radio and tv show. I know all the in's and out's of all their moves. So I know more than you when it comes to the Magic. I don't say it in a bragging way. It's just a fact. I know because I have no other choice to listen to this Magic nonsense day in and day out. I don't claim to know everything that is going on with the Hawks or somewhere else that I don't live. Because there is information I'm not priveleged too. For example local radio and tv. So when you try to tell me you know more about this than me, you have to be on crack rock. I know you like to hold the title of all knowing on this website, but in this case you don't. Please don't humor us with the fact that you think you know the real reasons for the Magic's moves. You don't for the simple fact you don't hear all the interviews and articles I see on a daily basis. I appreciate your opinions on topics but don't claim you know this. You just don't.

    If......

Diesel you wonder why people can't stand some of your posts. Gabe came out and said he only was going to have 2 of the 3. TMac said he was going to sign with the Heat, that was until Duncan fell through. These are facts. So your full of S$#$. You are not a know it all. The facts are what they are. Gabe has denied the fact that he could get all three and TMac says he would have signed with Miami. Which is only 3 hours away from Orlando. As you can see he is still close to home. So please stop trying to be a know it all. When you don't know anything about this situation.
  24. phoostal

    If......

Your wrong Diesel. Gabe came out on our local news station and said the only reason they got TMac is because Duncan didn't sign. It was their plan B. I know you claim to know everything, but you don't in this case. They could have never had Hill, Duncan and TMac. They could only had two of the three. Also, like KB said Rivers and Gabe became very frustrated with each other. One of the major reasons Rivers is gone.
  25. phoostal

    If......

First off the Magic could never have TMac, Hill and Duncan. They only had enough room for two of the three. That's a fact. So when Duncan fell through they went after TMac. TMac was about to sign with Miami before the Magic came calling. TMac chose Orlando before Miami for one simple reason. He grew up in Orlando. This is his hometown. Next regarding the draft picks. Just because some people on this board wanted Sasser and Gaines. Doesn't make these good picks. They are still bad picks. Trading picks and trading young players to get money under the cap to sign FA's. Is not always good. Sometimes the young guys pan out and sometimes the FA's don't and then you are stuck with them for 5 to 8 years. Where as a rookie you are only stuck for 3 years. You pick your poison. Lately John G. isn't making the right choices. Even the Grant Hill doesn't look good. This guy just keeps cash check after check without playing. Yes, everyone would have cleared room to get him. But, guess what it still is a bad deal. You are stuck with a guy and his salary that might not never play again. Bad move.
