  1. Somehow I think Brazil will fail today...
  2. I think they try to send the best referees possible - under regard of sport political issues - to the world cup. Here is the list For me it's hard to believe that refs from some countries or regions belong to the world's best. Maybe I'm wrong but you can also see the influence of sports politics in the trios from Africa, where members of the ref teams come from different countries, which doesn't is the case for the larger soccer countries.
  3. One big problem of ref at the world cup is, that there aren't the best refs of the world. This would be the case if there would only be the best refs from the biggest leagues (England, spain, italy, germany) but they would be suspected not to be neutral. That's why there are refs from many countries - a lot of them simply don't belong to the world elite and some aren't really used to judge about the biggest stars in football and I think in crucial situations the may unintentially tend to decide for the bigger star
  4. But to say there fifa suspends him for four month because he shouldn't play against brazil is a nonsense, because a two game suspension had been enought for that. Yes there have been SOME cases with refs but you will lose your fun watching sport if suspect every ref who makes a mistake.
  5. Some conspiracy theories here... Refs are humans and humans tend to make mistakes. If a professional soccer playser can shoot the ball over the goal while standing two meters in front if it, why shouldn't a ref get somthing wrong sometimes. It's annoying, but normal and part of soccer since there is no video review during the game.
  6. I don't think so. In such a case there has to be a suspension. And even if he'd been suspended for only two games he would have missed the possible quarter final vs brazil. He must be quite stupid to do that three times and I think he deserves a huge suspension. What a suspension would a NBA player get after biting an opponent the third time?
  7. By the way. DEUTSCHLAND! DEUTSCHLAND!
  8. nope. suspension for nine mandatory international matches plus complete suspension for four month.
  9. Went to bed after pick 22... I think you got the meaning already. Haven't read the whole topic, but for the sake of completeness I will translate it anyway. New teammate for @dennismike93: Hawks pick Cape Verdean Stelle Walter Tavares with pick 43.
  10. A Tv maket is per definition the area where the tv households watch the tv channels from the same origin for more than 50% The following link shows a list with the number of tv households per market. http://www.tvb.org/media/file/TVB_Market_Profiles_Nielsen_TVHH_DMA_Ranks_2013-2014.pdf It shows that ATL is ranked 9th. Not a small market and the gap to the big markets isn't that big - considering the first 5 or 6 as big. Not to forget that there are more than six teams are located in the big 6 so ATL is seem to be only the 11th biggest market. The document definitly shows why san antonio is a small maket in the nba.

  12. Maybe he told the bucks: sorry for being fat, but I want to fool the Cavs
  13. Trading teague for picks would also free some cap space. But I doubt that teague will be traded. For me working out PGs could mean they want to know who to pick if they get very good offers for our PGs or that they think about trading Dennis AND not to resign Mack. Because if only Dennis or Shelvin would leave the hawks a 3rd PG could easily be picked up in FAnvy.
  14. I never said Mack is at his ceiling, but I don't expect him to develop further that much and that fast. Maybe I'm wrong. Shelvin is aready in the league for 3 years and the difference to Hill is that Mack already played for two other teams which didn't see what you see in him. Yes, he had a very good last year. I already knew he could take over Dennis backup-job after watching him at Summer League last year. I think Dennis learned a lot about the NBA and the US - and that without playing very much. I also think his towel waiving playoff experience was good for his development. But next stages of development will need some more minutes, so the question is: Which PG do you want to develop how much and how fast? The minutes behind teague are limited. If the hawks will improve on SG (what we all hope) the minutes beside teague become limited too. You want to develop Mack to get a late first round pick instead developing your own mid first round pick? I know Mack is the better player right now and would understand if the Hawks are going long term with Teague and Mack on PG (but then Dennis could/should be traded). But don't get the argumentation to develop Mack only because he could be flipped for a late first rounder.... Oh I forgot. The Hawks are the Spurs 2.0. So we will trade a developed Mack against a future finals MVP... So it's clearly an easy decision...
  15. Yes Let's say I'm a little pessimistic and you are very optimistic Depends how much Ferry needs for FAncy We will see...
  16. Sign the player, spend - I guess at least - 2 millions a year and a rooster spot only because you maybe could trade him some day for a late firstrounder? He played a good season this year and think his value won't rise much further. I don't see that much upside and his playing time will stay the same or decrease if dennis gets more playing time. So for him it's a nice situation and he could sign a for him valuable contract. If Bud and Ferry don't have long time plans with Dennis, they have to sign Mack because he fits his role here, but not because he's a future trade asset.
  17. He is a restricted free agent if qualifying offer is made. Why should any GM - who wants him - shouldn't give him an offer sheet instead of sending a first round pick to ATL? So it's no about cutting him, but about evaluate offers he will get an decide to match them or not. If there aren't any offers for Mack, nobody will give us a pick too. So I can't se any type of "we could most certainly flip for a late 1st round pick" Edit: And a GM who gives him an offer sheet doesn't necessarily want to give the salary plus a pick for him so I see no real chance to get a 1st round pick for him, unless he signs a very valuable contract, what won't happen if someone really wants him...
  18. And klose is the only old school striker on the team. I like what I see so far. :D
  19. Today Germany will show up the first time... Hope that we kick Ronaldo's ass. I really really don't like that guy. When I think how he celebrated his meaningless penalty goal in the champions league final... I also want to see how Klinsi (Klinsmann's German nickname) and the US team will play
  20. Working out PGs can also be sign not to resign mack, give dennis the backup spot an draft a cheap 3rd pg in the second round to save some cap space. There are two scenarios for that: A. Some other teams are willing to overpay Shelvin B. They really want to develop Dennis now and have no need for a 3rd PG owning 2-3 million a season
  21. So the ref took care and won the game for brazil... But there will be some surprizes.
  22. I care. But not about the US team.... DEUTSCHLAND VOR!! Beside that I want all other favorits to loose and so I'm cheering for the underdogs. At the moment I'm happy about Croatia's lead against the top favorit!
  23. If all players had Dennis' playoff shooting percentage we would have become NBA champions... Wenn das Wörtchen wenn nicht wär, wär mein Vater Millionär. If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.
  24. Dosn't NBA2K features classic players? So make your teams there and check it [/joke]
