Same here. I don’t think he’s going to be bad. The trade doesn’t favor them Atlanta much and if your trading down, it should.

If Schlenk trades Doncic I’m taking a break. He’s going to get killed by the media and rightfully so.

Schlenk’s job is easy. Luka should be the pick unless he tells Atlanta he doesn’t want to play for them. Atlanta is probably getting all kinds of offers right now.

I’m not one who thinks Luka is going to be a star, but how can the Kings pass on Doncic? Objectively, Bagely is not the better prospect. Luka fits the Kings roster better than Bagely does. I don’t even know what kind of team the Kings are building at this point. Unless Luka’s camp told them he doesn’t want to play for Sacramento, the Kings might be making a huge mistake.

Embiid would have went higher if he wasn’t injured. He was clearly the most talented player that year. Milwaukee passing on him should let you know how much teams were concerned. He fits the kind of players Hammond likes.

Jackson and Doncic are better prospects than Embiid coming out of Kansas? Hyperbole at its finest

Defense doesn’t matter as much for point guards as it does with other positions. PG’s can be hidden on defense. What does matter is passing and scoring and Young is good at both.

Ownership always wins in these kinds of disputes. Why? Because GMs have to answer to the owners. This is the main reason I’m doubting this. I’ve never heard of a rouge GM making moves without permission.

Woj already said Doncic is at the top of our board. I’m not worried about Schlenk picking Doncic over Young. He’s going to be the pick if he’s there. Problem is, Doncic probably won’t be. In this scenario, trading down for Young makes complete sense.

Every team with a top 3 pick listens and makes calls to gauge potential trade value. Doesn’t mean a deal ends up being made. It’s basic GM behavior. Doesn’t make sense to knock Schlenk for operating like a GM.

If Doncic is gone, that trade makes sense for Atlanta. One of Bagely, Bamba, Young, and Jackson would still be there.

I truly believe Doncic will not be there at 3. Sacramento’s brass has seen him play multiple times and there is a picture of Divac, Vivek, and Doncic together smiling somewhere on twitter. I think all this Bagely to the Kings is a smokescreen personally.

So on the recent Ringer Mock, Kevin O’Conner said the Hawks are trying to trade up to select Lonnie Walker. He says it very casually around 13:00.

I could see Memphis taking Carter if the rumors about the top prospects avoiding them is true.

With Young and Doncic, the passing and scoring potential of the team improves significantly. The defense on the perimeter might be bad but the team would be fun to watch on offense.

Picking in the Carter/Bridges range of the draft would be terrible. Chicago’s assets aren’t that impressive.
