  1. It’s becoming obvious that the big man position is coming back into prominence. Once the incoming draft class hits the league, its going to be obvious to everyone. You’re not going to be able to get away with having a suspect front court anymore. Especially in the eastern conference with Embiid residing in Philly.

Tanking works when you draft the right players. It’s simply hard not to win when you have several high end talents on the same team. We’ve seen meh coaches like Scott Brooks and Mark Jackson take good young teams deep into the playoffs. Tanking isn’t a cureall but the teams that know what they’re doing usually nail their picks.

It still blows my mind that Philly is going to add another lottery talent to the best young core in the NBA. I don’t think even Bryan Colangelo can mess this up and he’s terrible.

This upcoming draft is extremely vital for the rebuild. Assuming the team hits on their first pick, they’ll have two more opportunities in the first round. Nailing another pick could be the difference between competing sooner rather than later. Minnesota’s pick settling right outside of the lottery would be perfect.
  5. The pick will be between 4-7. Don’t expect anything different. They’re going to win against the Kings too.
  6. Assuming they take a big with their own pick, the Hawks need to find a wing player that can contribute big time. Drafting multiple wing players might be the way to go about it. I wouldn’t even mind a trade up to make sure they land someone they really like. They have enough ammunition to do so.
  7. Bagley is going to be pretty good if his shot becomes more consistent.

Like talking to a brick wall.
  9. Ayton’s lack of rim protection is a big concern against Buffalo. He’s too damn big to be playing like this tonight.
  10. Oklahoma would be much better if there were a couple of players worth a damn outside of Young.

Ayton is one of the better Center prospects to come out in a while. His main issue is rim protection but I can picture him improving on that end once he gets with a proper NBA big man coach. He has the athleticism and length to be solid. Its going to suck to see him wasting away in Memphis or Sacramento next season. Same with Doncic.
  12. Yep and the whole “ Dukes defense is better without him” talking point is dead. I like him but not for Atlanta due to his questionable fit with Collins.

Most teams will never be in a position to where they can be gifted lottery picks without rebuilding. Boston got lucky quite frankly and would be rebuilding if Billy King wasn’t one of the worst GMs in the last ten years. It’s 2018 and the Nets are still suffering from his ineptitude.
  14. Very impressive game from Bagley tonight.
  15. If Prince was a guy who had expectations of being a cornerstone of the franchise, I wouldn’t have minded the shot all that much. We currently don’t have anyone that resembles a player like that on this roster. That’s why the loss was so terrible.
  16. So predictable. Just gotta hope whatever player they draft from the 5-8 range exceeds expectations. The Hawks are seriously blowing this.
  17. Hawks will win today. Hope I’m wrong but it is what it is.

There isn’t anything good about the Grizzlies situation. Memphis has two terrible contracts (Conley and Parsons) wheighing down their cap down. Conley and Gasol are up there in age so a decline is coming sooner than later. Their roster outside of those two is G-league level. I don’t even think anyone could make an argument that their front office is a good one. Roster degradation is real and the Grizzlies are the perfect example of why knowing when to rebuild is paramount.
  19. He’s right. That group had no where to go but down.
  20. Yep. I’m not getting irritated about it anymore. It’s inevitable.
  21. Ingram’s improved a ton since his rookie year.
