  1. today the "great USA team" lost to italy. even though it's just pratice, i can't believe a bunch of allstars or future allstars lost to Italy, A team with no NBA player. Shame on the US hoops team. Just DISGRACEFUL
  2. While eddy has no work ethic, this guy could be a dominant player. i've seen him a couple of times dominate the raptors last year. He was great, making shots in the paint, banging his body around. I think this guy needs some motivation. he is clearly distracted in the fame and nba business. he came to camp overwieght, i don't think he realizes what he has to do to succed. everything has come easy to him. if had gone to college he would never have been drafted in the lottery. i think he will be a erick dampier type player with a few less rebounds.
  3. it works for me, try playing it on vlc player. it's a ridiculous dunk.
  4. I always wondered how the maximum contract works. Some players get a 90 million dollar max contract while some get a 120 million dollar max and they are both called a max contract. shouldn't the max be one figure. How does it change from player to player?
  5. http://www.sportsnet.ca/nba/article.jsp?co...728_234516_5008 According to reports the raptors have offered the Hornets VC and jalen rose to NO for Magloire and PJ Brown. i think this is a good deal for toronto since they can start rebuilding and get a good center in Magloire. next year they will have plenty of cap room and can hopefully sign someone like Ray Allen who is a FA. Your thoughts?
  6. sorry, i didn't know that reef was in least year of his contract, my bad.
  7. The stupidest thing billy knight could do now is get reef. reef won't carry the team to the playoffs and his massive salary would kill the team's chances to get a good free agent next year. knight should just pass on dampier and start preparing for next year's free agency. By the way, who will be the best free agent next year?
  8. Has anyone seen Hooked and does anybody know if he is playing anywhere. The last information i got was that he had a tryout with the Golden state warriors
  9. http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_9139.shtml RMR - looking at the players that made a difference, team by team. Part 1, Part 2 Tuesday. League MVP: Jason Kapono -Bobcats 1st Team: Devin Brown - Spurs Leandro Barbosa - Suns Curtis Borchardt - Jazz Loul Deng - Bulls Nikoloz Tskitishvili - Nuggets Hawks: The Hawks came to the RMR with 4 just drafted rookies on the roster and Travis Hansen. Hansen showed what he could do, hit the three occasionally, play defense and be a leader. He showed lots of athleticism. He will be a good player off the bench next season, he will be able to make sure plays are called correctly and be the best defender on the squad. Junior Harrington should have played himself onto a spot on the team. The Hawks don’t have a true point guard on the roster and this gives Harrington a great opportunity. He isn’t going to be the type of guy who scores in bunches for you, but he is going to run the point with no mistakes and pass the ball to the guys that need it. Josh Smith showed the most athletic ability out of every player at the RMR. He is a streaky player, some games exploding for lots of points and boards. Other games, he just disappeared. Lots of this has to do with the fact he is right out of high school. Given time, he could be the next Vince Carter in his first couple of years. He can jump probably higher than anyone else at the RMR. His rebounding will help the Hawks and he should be able to bulk up to play the PF spot in a year or two. Will be an amazing player. Josh Childress is going to be the next Scottie Pippen. He is steady and never plays outside himself. He continually got around 14 ppg and 6-8 boards each game. Expect this same production for the coming season. He can handle the ball and does a good job distributing the rock. Look for him to start at SF. Donta Smith did not show me a lot, neither did Royal Ivey. Look for the both to be on the active roster most of the time, just not seeing the floor a lot. Ivey has more of a chance to play as he can play either guard position and the Hawks will be lacking help there. These Hawks will see a lot of time this coming season as the team is young. They will be force in the league once these guys get a little time together under their belts. Bobcats: I was most interested in seeing the Bobcats out of all the teams in the RMR this year. Primoz Brezec will be seeing time this season, unlike when he was with the Pacers. When given a chance, Brezec dominated other teams. He averaged just over 12 PPG and 6 boards. I like his game and will only improve as he gets time. Loren Woods played and impressed me in some games. Other games, Woods looked like he was bored out of his mind. Woods showed a lot of skill and it is amazing at what he could do. He really should dominate in summer league and in the NBA. He has game, he must do his part though. Melvin Ely was amazing, once he was in game shape. Just like most of the Bobcats players, Ely will dominate when given the chance. The Bobcats have an interesting problem, who to start? Woods, Brezec and Ely could all start at the PF/C spot and then throw in Okafor and it gets crowded. Look for Ely and Okafor to start with Woods getting most the time off the bench. If someone else starts at center, look for Ely to be the first guy off the bench. He is good and he will prove it this year. Jason Kapono was amazing. When he got hot, he stayed that way. He could hit a shot against anyone. His defense was good too. He played tough and will be either the starting SG or SF. He could also be good off the bench, providing a lot of offense. Omar Cook played really well and I would not be surprised to see him on the regular season roster. Maurice Carter played great. He hustled, even crashing himself into the side tables and back of the basket pads just to draw a foul or make a shot. He impressed me with his decent outside shot and his hustle. Oyedeji should never set foot on an NBA court again. He doesn’t have game. When guys would play rough against him, he would act like he was going to fight them. Lose the attitude. Needs more time in the minor leagues. Bernard Robinson, the 45th pick, showed me nothing and was not impressive. Could become better with time. Bulls: The Bulls finished with the best record, going 6-1. Chris Duhon did not play near as much as I was hoping. What I did see of him was only marginal. Ben Gordon and Luol Deng played well when they were not totally disappearing. There were times during games when Deng would be in the game and I would totally forget that he was on the floor. Gordan showed that his three point shot is not ready for the NBA. They both still have a ways to go before I would start them on my team. Jennero Pargo would be a guy that I would give a contract to right now. Pargo is a scorer and a consistent one at that. He did a great job running the team and getting his shot off. He plays decent defense and should definetly be picked up by a team needing either a back up or knowing that their top two point guards are injury prone. Linton Johnson III really has improved his game. He showed a good all around game. He rebounded extremely well for only being 6-8. He and Mario Austin both showed a lot of improvement. Austin would be able to help the Bulls right away, as long as they can sign him without more contract problems. Kirk Penney would be a decent 10-15 guy on a roster. Mavericks: The Mavs had a team of great guards and interesting centers. Marquis Daniels can score, but I don’t believe he should be a PG. He is not a look to pass player. He would rather just take it to the basket. He usually makes the shot, but he didn’t get his teammates involved enough. Josh Howard is going to be an amazing player. He was playing without being 100% and still was amazing. I really like his game, even more that Daniels. Devin Harris is going to be a great player. Harris is offensive minded, needs to learn defense sometime over the next year. He looks like he has no problem running a run-n-gun offense. Jon Stefansson will get a lot of time this coming year if he continues to improve his point guard skills. Stefansson showed a good outside shot and also showed that he can run the point. He plays better defense than Harris, still needs to improve though. Didler Ilunga-Mbenga and Pavel Podkolzin are both raw. Ilunga-Mbenga looks like he will be most ready to contribute right away. He has a decent inside game but is still stiff. Pavel is like a manikin. A rebound would be coming his way and guards would get it before he could move towards it. He would get position and guys would just get around him to the ball before he could react. He is young though and needs lots of coaching. Could be good in a couple of years and Dallas’s big man coaching. Nuggets: Nikoloz Tskitishvili was the best player on the team. Skita showed that his shot is still solid. He can hit from just about anywhere and improved his inside game. He still needs to spend a month under the basket and learn what it means to play in the post. There were some plays where your thinking that he should post up his man and he would go for a fade away instead of stepping in. I’d just shake my head, I shook my head a lot this past week. His game is good though and should be the SG the Nuggets have been looking so hard for. Fransisco Elson improved his defense and offense a lot from last year. I remember watching him last year and thinking that he would never make it. I was wrong. Elson has really worked on his game and it shows. He is strong inside and not many guys could handle him. Koko Archibong played terrible and should find himself on a minor league team next year. Ken Johnson is slow and is a guy teams will pick up at the end of the season for years to come. He has the size, just needs to improve his game and speed. Miles Simon was fun to watch but did nothing strong or wrong. He’s just there. He sets up the offense and plays good defense. Would be good for a sixth guard on a team, probably going to stay in the minor leagues though. Matt Nielson from Australia played really well for the team. He’s 6-8 and plays strong defense. He showed that he has a decent 15 footer and can shoot from anywhere inside of there as well. He likes to bang. Would be a decent camp invite and could land an NBA job. Sani Becirovic is a 6-5 PG from Slovenia. He played great for the team when he played. I really liked his game and would like to see him in a NBA camp. I think he could make a roster if given a chance. Could be a real find. Pacers: David Harrison showed that he will contribute in the NBA. Hopefully he isn’t injury prone though. He can score, rebound and pick up fouls. Just like many NBA big men in their first year, he likes to foul. He will get better in time. Rashad Wright is a good pickup but didn‘t show anything that stood out. Adam Harrington was a good player and should get a look by some NBA teams. He has game. Luke Recker looked good in the minutes he got. I wouldn’t mind him as a 10-15 guy on a team. Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje and Soumaila Samaka both showed nothing. Ruben has more of chance making a roster than Samaka. Samaka wont see a NBA roster again, he just looks lost on the floor. Ruben showed some game but don’t ever count on him as a starter. Would be decent as a 3rd or 4th string center.
  10. i don't see ben gordon as the rookie of the year. i think josh childress, devin harris and okafor have to be ahead of him right now. Devin harris can probably get 8 assits and 10 points playing with all those shooters and childress will get plenty of chances to score and okafor is okafor.
  11. hey kb21 and diesel, just wanted to ask how do you add the signature thing on the the bottom?
  12. Vlade's deal is surprising. Why would the lakers pay 10.3 million for two years for a player who is not capable of playing more than 20 minutes and his health is very doubtful. I like the Rafer Alston deal 21 million for 5 years. BK should've atleast looked at him since he is a pure pg and very good in pushing the ball upcourt and can shoot a little. He could've helped the young guys by giving the ball at the right spots for J-Chill and j smith to score.
  13. Hawks 71 (2-1) vs. Suns 74 (1-2) This was a close game all the way through. With 49.3 seconds left in the game, Casey Jacobsen hit a three pointer to give the Suns a 70 to 67 lead. This was basically the nail in the coffin. Leandro Barbosa had a great game. He usually was picking up quick fouls in each of his previous games. He was able to get to the third quarter before picking up a foul. He went for 16 points and 6 assists. Barbosa is a tough match up for other guards as he is big and strong but is as quick as can be. Maciej Lampe has shown improvement on the boards, 10. He is moving a lot better without the ball and has shown good handle when he has had to dribble. Jackson Vroman is exactly what the Suns expected him to be. He works hard and defends well. He will see time playing next season as both a backup PF and Center. The Hawks continue to run a lineup that is basically all Shooting Guards and Small Forwards. They usually try to run their best players. Travis Hansen played very well and has shown great athleticism. He has an amazing jumping ability and can stay in the air that extra second to get his shot off. Josh Smith is amazingly athletic but has shown that he is streaky and does not handle constant pressure well. Josh Childress continues to the be the steadiest player on the team. He seams to have around the same stat line and influence on each game. He finished with 14 points and 5 boards. Blazers 87 (1-2) vs. Mavericks 101 (2-1) The best game by far over any other game. This game was constant offense and a show of amazing athleticism. Devin Harris is as good as he was supposed to be. He can run the team, take the big shots, create offense, rebound, and score. He is quick, he can take his man off his first step, and he is not afraid to make plays. He went for 21 points, 7 boards, 5 assists, 1 block and 2 turnovers. Marquis Daniels continued to shoot the ball whenever he had it. Amazingly, he led the team in assists with 7. I don’t ever remember him driving the ball towards the hoop and passing it. He is able to score at will and drive towards the basket and pick up fouls. Josh Howard was not at full speed. I heard that his ankles were hurting him, yet he went for 17 points and had some amazing dunks. All three of these guys are decent at defense and will only get better. This will be a very scary team in the regular season. Parel Podkolzin had an interesting game. 11 minutes, 0 shots, 4 for 4 on free throws, 3 rebounds, 5 fouls and 2 turnovers. He is big, I’ll give him that. He doesn’t bring much else but you have to remember that he is very young. The Blazers have an interesting problem on their hands. Sebastian Telfair is an amazing player. He is probably the fastest player I have ever seen. He has a crossover that would make Iverson cry. He has a spin move that leaves his defender on the other side of the court. He is amazing, the only problem, he plays to much like a streetballer. Telfair can get to the basket in the blink of an eye and then toss a teammate a pass that they had no idea was coming. He plays out of control on some plays. If he could get under control, he will be amazing. On the other side is Dan Dickau. Dickau plays very conservatively and gets the job done. He does not have the flash but he will not have the turnovers. I think Telfair will win the battle of the back up PG spot, but it will be a tough call. Darius Rice continues to impress. He is strong, rebounds 9 and shoots well, 15 points. He should be signed by a team by the end of the week. Qyntel Woods continues his clean living play. If you did not know, he has cut his hair, put on 15 pounds of muscle, and entered drug rehab. He went 8-16 for 27 points. He can score at will and no one can defend him. If his defense improves, look for him to really contribute next season. Spurs 87 (1-2) vs. Bulls 93 (3-0) Devin Brown has played great so far and only continues to improve. He went for 22 points and 5 assists. He handles the ball well and runs the Spurs exactly how they should be run. Vincent Yarbrough played great off the bench. Yarbrough had 9 points and 5 boards. He is an emotional leader on the team and is in just about every battle for a rebound. Look for him to be picked up by an NBA team by the time the week is done. If he isn’t, teams need to take another look. Phoenix should be kicking themselves for trading Luol Deng to the Bulls for a future pick. Deng has played very well all week and looks to be a great player in the making. He went 8-14 for 20 points and 4 boards. Ben Gordon does a great job of handling the ball and shooting. He is not afraid to go after rebounds and plays tough defense. He had 19 points and 7 boards. Mario Austin had an off day for the Bulls but had played great every other game.
  14. jr smith of New orleans has impressed me a lot he just had 31 points and has had another 30 point game before.
  15. It could also be that Josh smith improved his ball handling after reading what his weaknesses are but i agree that sometimes scouting reports are wrong.
  16. I think Denver probably wants first round draft picks since they gave 3 future draft picks to new jersey. howver i wouldn't give that up for him. Maybe Hansen and a second rounder.
  17. Insider is only good around draft time. it does a great job of introducing foreign players and the draft positions.
  18. i would love to see this happen but i don't think miami has the cap space.
  19. I think the only scenario where Toronto trades Carter is if they are willing to give Finley and Devin Harris. However, i don't thik the mavs will let these two players go as they are crucial to their organization.
  20. You people should watch this show. It's hilarious. It's on showcase and HBO.
  21. How about Frank williams for Shaq and Michael Sweetney for Kevin Garnet.
  22. i liked Titanic's cinematography. When they were on titanic it kind of felt very genuine.
